World Food Day During this World Food Day, we highlight the work that the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is doing in Kenya to strengthen and support food security. Access to adequate and healthy food has been a challenge for majority of Kenyans especially those living in arid and semi-arid areas. The situation has even been worsened by the infestation of desert locusts in Kenya which has threatened food systems. As of 09th October 2020, there were 40,178 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections, 751 fatalities and 31,710 recoveries in Kenya. According to the Ministry of Health (MoH), Mombasa and Nairobi are currently the most affected counties, with Elgeyo Marakwet County being the least impacted.
