CHAIRPERSON Colina Helen Campbell May I take this opportunity to welcome you all to the 14th anniversary of the Bicentenary Pipe Band Championships and Highland Dancing Competition, at Hermitage Park and Victoria Halls, Helensburgh on Sunday 21st June 2015. I wish to thank all those who continually support us including the competitors, volunteers, traders, youth organisations, committee members, the RSPBA, Argyll & Bute Council and all our sponsors. A big thank you too to the local community and the general public for their continuing support.

The Official Opening will be at Hermitage Park at 12.20pm following the arrival of the Opening Parade from the Pier. The event will conclude with a closing parade of pipe bands and highland dancers down Sinclair Street, led by the Chieftain and Chairperson a spectacular finale to the day. The number of pipe band entries has increased this year which is very encouraging and I wish all the pipe bands and highland dancers, competing here today, my very best wishes for a successful competition.

CHIEFTAIN Dougie Philand As Depute Provost for Argyll and Bute Council it has been my privilege to attend the Bicentenary pipe band championships on 2 previous occasions. I have always been extremely impressed by the standard of the event and the support it receives from all over Scotland. This year I have the honour of being invited to be Chieftain of the event which is something I will treasure for many years. The event has always been

well organised which allows all competitors to enter a professionally managed competition and I would like to offer my congratulations to the organising committee for all their unseen hard work to allow this high quality event to be enjoyed by both participants and supporters. I wish everyone competing all the best for the day and look forward to being your chieftain for 2015
