Hub aims to get more residents active Several clubs in the area have teamed up to form a Community Sports Hub. The aim is to increase the number of people of all ages participating in sport and physical activity. Community Sport Hubs, Sport Scotland’s contribution to the Scottish Government’s 2014 legacy plan, provide information, support and advice on a wide range of sports and physical activities to make it easier for local people to get involved and engage in a more active and healthy lifestyle. A committee of representatives from Helensburgh’s golf, netball, athletic and hockey clubs will meet this month to plan a community event for May. Other clubs signed up to the hub include Cardross Golf Club, Helensburgh Sailing Club, Ardencaple Football Club, plus the Rugby, Tennis, Taekwondo and Martial Arts clubs. Sport Scotland say: “Not only is a CSH a great place to share ideas, it can also increase the profile for sport and clubs in the community along with providing professional support from Active Schools,
Sports Development and Scottish Governing Bodies.” Kevin McAleer, General Manager, Helensburgh Golf Club has joined a small committee along with Lyndsay King – Helensburgh Netball, Gordon Black – Hockey Club and Laura Johnstone – Athletics Club. It plans to meet in late January/early February to progress ideas for a special event in May (provisionally agreed for May 1st at the Rugby/Cricket Club) but the date and location are still up for discussion. The Community Advertiser will keep an eye on progress and bring readers more news as the plans progress. However the general principles of the Sports Hub are already established. Sport Scotland say that while specifics of each Hub and what it offers will vary according to local need and local resource, all Hubs will work to

Helensburgh Savoy has produced 32 shows since 1984 and over the years has donated over £33,000 directly to local charities and organisations. Although singing and acting are obviously a main part of a Helensburgh Savoy production, they tell us many other talents are needed. Costume, set building, scenery painting, make-up, props, stage management and crew, prompting, front of house and fundraising are all vital. http:// www.helensburghsavoy.org.uk/

£650,000 for town face-lift parking meter. More refuse bins will be installed throughout the town centre and additional signage will be erected to help direct visitors to local car parks. The West Bay Esplanade will be enhanced and flood prevention work will be commissioned in West Clyde Street.
The Council’s Helensburgh and Lomond Area Committee have agreed 12 further improvements to Helensburgh’s town centre funded from £650,000 surplus CHORD funds. Members agreed that the funds left over from the original town centre initiative would be used to improve James Street with the installation of granite paving and replacing the pavements in East Clyde Street, Maitland Street, West Princes Street and John Street. The town’s award-winning Outdoor Museum will be expanded. It is proposed that the Light of the Comet plinth be illuminated at night and seven of the original Flotilla of
Comets from the former street lights will be repaired, cleaned and mounted on columns. The Colquhoun Square project was developed and curated with the input and support of local residents, schools and organisations.
Councillor Gary Mulvaney, chair of the Helensburgh and Lomond Area committee said: “The focus of our council is on attracting people to our area, creating jobs and economic prosperity and the improvements the committee agreed to take forward go a long way to achieving exactly that.’’
In 2009 the council approved an investment of approximately £30 million to regenerate and boost the economic development The committee also gave the of five of its town centres. go-ahead to work to improve £6.66 million was allocated to the Maitland Street car park by Helensburgh – which helped to installing lighting, resurfacing, successfully deliver the improved re-designing and marking parking character and appearance of the bays, stabilising the boundary town centre and the West Bay wall and installing a esplanade.

Exciting NEW future for The long awaited refurbishment of Hermitage Park will start with a cutting of the first sod ceremony on February 10. Phase 1 is the removal of diseased trees we reported in January. The Community Advertiser will be bringing its readers regular news of the development and we start with an in depth feature on the background to the scheme and news of the exciting changes which will be emerging over the coming months. The start of work marks the culmination of a remarkable campaign by The Friends of Hermitage Park, a group of residents who in late 2010, upset about the state of neglect and sad decay in the park, resolved to get on and do something about it.

Following a meeting with Argyll and Bute Council the Friends decided to do two things, take physical action to clear the overgrowth and investigate how a major upgrade of the park could be financed and managed. That led to the The Friends registering as a charity so that they could access Heritage Lottery
Funding. Representatives visited a number of other parks, carried out surveys of people using the park to find out their views and had preliminary meetings with the Heritage Lottery Fund. After numerous consultations the final design evolved and in January 2016 the HLF accepted the detailed proposals and awarded the second stage grant of £2.33 million. Fiona Baker, Chair, Friends of Hermitage Park Association tells us: “In addition to the HLF grant substantial financial awards and assistance has been forthcoming from Argyll and Bute Council £280,000, the Armed Forces Covenant £253,000 and Sustrans

Hermitage Park revealed £300,000. “The War Memorials Trust granted us £60,000 and the Friends raised £20,000 including a generous donation from Helensburgh Round Table. In addition the Friends need to donate £120,000 worth of volunteer hours to the project to meet the HLF conditions. At present the development fund sits at £3.3 million.” The refurbished park promises to be a major and lasting improvement to Helensburgh. It will have a new pavilion with a community room and a café. The playpark, with new equipment and equipment from the current play area will be moved to the old putting green and will be watched over by the much loved red horse ‘Steed’, an icon of the park. The old tennis courts on the site of the old mill pond will be developed into a fountain plaza and event space and kick-about area. The old play area will be redeveloped as a demonstration

garden showing what plants can be grown in this area and offering training for Royal Horticultural Society apprentices and opportunities for local groups and charities. Fiona adds: “ It goes without saying all the drainage issues will be sorted out and new tarmac paths will be laid throughout the park and lighting will be installed along the main paths. “A new bandstand will be built on the site of the old bandstand and the footprint of Hermitage House will be laid out in grass, after a community archaeological dig, adjacent to a human sundial and the restored Hermit’s Well.” A major programme of repairs will be carried out at the war memorial and the reflecting pond will be restored. The ruined Malig Mill will be given a makeover and interpretation features installed in several locations. The old bowling green will remain as a fine lawn and putting green and the car park at the Victoria Halls will be extended to provide 24 more spaces. www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/ hermitage-park-project-0 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The innovative Outdoor Museum, part of Helensburgh’s revitalised town centre, has been shortlisted for a prestigious Arts and Business Scotland Award. The museum will be judged in the Enterprising Museum category – which recognises an innovative or entrepreneurial project that has delivered an ambitious highimpact museum experience in 2015-16. The council’s vision was to create an accessible Outdoor Museum that will explore, celebrate and display the rich and varied history of Helensburgh for local residents and visitors to the town, both now and in time to come. Councillor Ellen Morton, Argyll and Bute Council’s Policy Lead for
Infrastructure, said: “It is a real achievement to be shortlisted for the Arts and Business Award and our AustinSmith:Lord designed project is certainly worthy of inclusion. Many people, including local businesses and residents deserve the recognition for making this project happen and be such a success. Accolades like this are a real vote of confidence in the council’s work.” The council’s regeneration of Helensburgh’s Town Centre has already won three other awards
The Outdoor Museum takes advantage of the fact that over one hundred bollards have been placed around Colquhoun Square. WAVEparticle, the art organisation commissioned by Argyll and Bute Council to deliver the Helensburgh CHORD public art strategy, worked closely with lead architects Austin-Smith:Lord, to redesign these bollards, so that they could be transformed into plinths, with each plinth preprepared so that it can display objects, images and texts of significance to the town. The Arts and Business Scotland Annual Awards which celebrate outstanding collaborations between the business and cultural sectors - will be held in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Thursday, 23rd March 2017.

legends team up for Thailand Local man Dave Higgins has pulled together some of the greatest names in rugby ever to help raise 100,000 Dollars for worthy causes in Thailand. They fly over this month. The Rugby Legends project features ex-internationalists from around the world who have joined forces to help charities in different parts of the world and help promote Rugby in the new rugby areas. When David Higgins approached his friends Stephen Bachop, Jason White, Marcus Di Rollo, Gavin Kerr, David Hilton, Junior Paramore , Dan Scarbrough and Craig Chalmers, about his idea of a charity rugby project to help charities in Thailand, they jumped at the chance, and between this group of ex international players, was born the Rugby World Legends project. Between them they have pulled together, without doubt , a world class ex international team to help raise money for the Nak Suu
Rugby Academy and Father Joe's Mercy Centre both in Bangkok and the UK Charity Team Endeavour. Stephen Bachop said: “ This is a fantastic charity project, when Dave called me and explained the idea I could not wait to get involved nor could Walter Little and Frank Bunce. We worked hard to get New Zealand Businesses we know involved, and join those from the UK such as James Barry Ltd , Martyn Davidson Ltd and Joe Goatley’s Initial Recruitment Services who all stepped forward to sponsor the team to get them there. The team arrive on Wednesday 22nd Feb for events which apart
from the rugby include a large Charity Dinner, and a visit to Father Joe's Mercy Centre so the players can see the great work Father Joe has done over the year There’s a meet and greet with the Chambers of Commerce and another with the Scottish, English and Welsh societies of Thailand and a Charity Golf event and evening BBQ .

FEBRUARY 2017 - Local News
Venerable Nino takes residence to meditate and in establishing a regular meditation practice. He understands that “many people are stressed and find that practicing meditation is a way to lighten one’s spirits”. WELCOME NINO: Venerable Nino has recently taken up residence at the former church.
There’s a new face in town at the former Park Church. Venerable Nino (Phra Kajonpong Khemavaṁso), a Buddhist monk of the Theravada tradition, has recently taken residence. The former church is now a centre of Buddhism called Wat Phra Dhammakaya Scotland. Venerable Nino was born into a Buddhist family in a small village on the outskirts of Khon Khen, North-eastern Thailand. He started meditating when he was around 10 years of age. Nino continued his meditation practice into adulthood. However, prior to taking his vows as a monk, he spent many years as a businessman. He lived in Verona,
Italy, for ten years running an import-export business. Venerable Nino’s deep questions about the nature of human existence led him to take his vows as a monk eight years ago. He comes to Helensburgh under the guidance of his Abbot, Phra Tepyanmahamunee (Venerable Dhammajayo Bhikkhu), and as a representative of his monastic order. His aim is to offer support and guidance to anyone who is interested both in learning how
Meditation is not just for adults. Previous representative at Wat Phra Dhammakaya Scotland, Venerable Amaro, led meditation sessions for the Rhu Beavers and Scouts groups. Venerable Nino hopes that while he resides in Helensburgh he will be able to offer regular children’s meditation sessions to the local community. Wat Phra Dhammakaya Scotland currently offers meditation sessions every Sunday afternoon from 4pm – 5.30pm. These sessions are suitable for newcomers and experienced meditators alike. There is no charge for these sessions though donations are welcome. For more information see: http:// www.dhammakayascotland.com/ or 01436 676024

FEBRUARY 2017 - What's Up Doc?
New stage for TALENT
What's Up Doc? with Dr Nick Dunn
This month: A GIANT LEAP FOR MEN?
Gibson Hall Community Centre, in Garelochhead is now able to work alongside more local musicians and bands after receiving a small grant from Awards For All. The Hall can now be more easily used as a rehearsal space due to an upgrade of some parts of the stage sound system. As part of this Chairperson Laura Cameron said : “We are running monthly Open Stage Nights, which are open to anyone who would like the chance to showcase their talent. All ages are welcome, and it is just £2 per head entry.”
The Hall has a number of musical evenings coming up, with original bands as well as tributes. For more info, see their Facebook page, website or call 01436 810403. Various volunteering opportunities are also available for any interested parties.
A quarter of all new cancers in men are caused by prostate cancer, and men have a 1 in 8 risk of developing it. There is no simple test for it, so doctors depend upon men reporting troublesome symptoms.
These include problems passing urine, including reduced flow, dribbling or pain, blood in the urine, or sometimes even persisting back pain. Similarly testicular cancer diagnosis depends upon men checking themselves and reporting lumps early. This can be embarrassing to discuss, but doctors are used to talking about these things and would prefer you discuss things early, to rule out cancer, or if necessary arrange early treatments, which with new advances are becoming steadily more effective.

It's so far proven to be popular with performers and audiences alike. Some of the acts that have performed are considered by the
hall committee for future events such as Hermitage Academy pupil Lewis Scobie, who played the first Open Stage night- he will now be providing support for Queen tribute band Queen II when they return to the hall on March 11th.
A recent trial of “multiparametric” MRI scanners to help specialists diagnose prostate cancer has been announced as a giant leap forward in identifying cancerous areas in the gland earlier and more accurately, and may become available in coming years.

HART INSURANCE BROKERS - LONG ESTABLISHED TRUSTED ADVISER RELOCATES TO HELENSBURGH After fifty years of service to their UK wide client base, Hart Insurance Brokers are relocating to the site of the former Clydesdale Bank in James Street. The partnership has maintained its core values since it was founded by the late Eddie Hart in 1965, and with Eddie’s sons Keith and Alistair running the business since 1988, this Victorian listed building seemed like the right home to uphold and develop these principles. Despite undergoing a myriad of regulatory changes since its formation, the firm has retained its independent status in terms of ownership and also how it operates within the market. 2017 marks the tenth anniversary of the partnership being invited to join the Willis Towers Watson Network which provides the firm with access to technical support, an extensive range of leading global insurers, preferential rates and niche policy wordings. This enables Hart Insurance Brokers to offer its clients the benefits usually associated with a much larger brokerage, while at the same time, maintaining its independence and continuing to provide customers with the highest level of personal service. Specialising in Commercial and Property Insurance, Hart Insurance Brokers also offer a number of exclusive facilities which extend to Motor Fleet and High
Value Home Insurance. Through the guidance of the firms’ two Pension Transfer Authorised individuals, the financial services division are able to provide professional and objective advice on Life Assurance, Wealth Management, Inheritance Tax Planning and both pre and at retirement pension guidance. Hart Insurance Brokers has developed a loyal customer base over the years due to its mutually beneficial partnership approach, and as the majority of clients come to regard the firm as a trusted partner and adviser, many of the original clients from 50 years ago still engage with the firm. From corporate bodies, charities, to family businesses and sole traders, the ability to advise this diverse and wide-ranging client base is another of Hart Insurance Brokers’ enduring qualities. The extensive refurbishment carried out in James Street has seen many of the traditional Victorian features restored and this works in harmony with the dynamic and light office setting created for the ten-strong team. Keith, Alistair and their Team look forward to welcoming existing and new clients, who can be assured that all relationships will be conducted to the highest ethical and professional standards.

FEBRUARY 2017 - Valentine Feature
In Victorian times it was considered bad luck to sign a Valentineʻs Day card.
Physicians of the 1800s commonly advised their patients to eat chocolate to calm their pining for lost love.
In Finland Valentineʻs Day is called Ystävänpäivä, which translates into “Friendʻs day”. It's more about remembering your buddies than your loved ones.
Girls of medieval times ate bizarre foods on St. Valentine's Day to make them dream of their future spouse.

Valentine Feature - FEBRUARY 2017
In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who would be their Valentine. They would wear this name pinned onto their sleeves for one week for everyone to see. This was the origin of the expression "to wear your heart on your sleeve."
Every Valentine's Day, the Italian city of Verona, where Shakespeare's lovers Romeo and Juliet lived, receives about 1,000 letters addressed to Juliet.
3 per cent of pet owners will give Valentineʻs Day gifts to their pets.

This month: PRIVATE TENANTS All tenants have the right to live in a property that is fit for human habitation. The expectations for this can be wide ranging. However, at a minimum the structure and services should be in a reasonable state of repair. It is the landlord's duty to ensure this standard is maintained. In the event you have concerns regarding your property you should raise them directly with your landlord and allow them the opportunity of addressing the possible problem. However, thereafter, under S.22(1) of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006, private tenants have the remedy of applying for a Repairing Standard
Enforcement Order (RSEO). This order, if granted, will require the landlord to carry out the necessary repair work within a specified time scale. The order is registered against the title deeds and will not be revoked until the work has been certified as completed. In circumstances where a landlord simply refuses to comply with the order the local council can be asked to carry out the work. They will in turn recover the cost from the landlord, who will also receive a fine for non compliance. The tenant could also be granted rent relief of up to 90% until the work is completed.

Emma ALL SET to break the ice Curtains & Roman Blinds All soft furnishings made to measure Helensburgh mum Emma Cummings is set to take part in an inaugural ice swimming competition at Loch Lomond this month. The daring swimmer will participate in the kilometre swim at the International Ice Swimming Association British Championships on February 11. There is also a 500m race.
open water swimming, however. The NHS project manager swims year-round in local lochs. She does not rely on a wetsuit for warmth but instead wears a normal swimming costume.
To qualify as an ice swimming location the water must record a temperature below 5C. Emma says: “I am nervous about the race but it’s a first event for Scotland and it’s so close to my home so it seems perfect. It’s also something very different and I am looking forward to giving the race a try.”
She says: “I swim with an open water group called the Wild West Swimmers and about four years ago a few of us decided to see how long we could continue to swim open water when the summer finished. We ended up swimming all winter and now I have swum through every season since.”
Emma is no stranger to chilly
Emma admits that it takes a bit of
getting used to. She says: “In the first year, I wore wet-suit gloves and boots but now I don’t need those. If you swim at least once a week you acclimatise to the cold and I can now swim in only my swimsuit and a normal swim hat. “Sometimes, when I get into the water and it’s below 5C, I wonder what on earth I am doing but I always end up loving the swim and when I get out again I feel a surge of energy and happiness. You do need to know what you are doing and to have warm clothing and hot drinks ready for when you get out of the water but I think it’s an amazing thing to do.” Spectators can attend the IISA Loch Lomond swim: www. internationaliceswimming.com.

Every year over 3000 enthusiastic volunteers donate their time to projects, properties and events with the National Trust for Scotland. Volunteers provide enormous help to the Trust and there are many openings for volunteers at our historic buildings, gardens and battlefields to undertake all kinds of tasks. Volunteering can suit people of all ages who are interested in trying new experiences, meeting new people, learning new skills and seeing new places. One of the interesting local places to volunteer is the Hill House, Currently Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s masterpiece is seeking volunteers who like meeting people and have an interest in art history.

Unfortunately only around one in 20 will survive, particularly as there are pressures on the overstretched ambulance service.
A local woman is on a mission to help every pupil in Scotland become potential lifesavers by equipping hundreds across the area with CPR and emergency response skills. Sheenah Nelson and her fellow Heart Start trainers are responsible for training them to cope in life-threatening situations. The volunteers from Helensburgh and Local District CPR/Defibrillator Association have covered every primary school in Helensburgh and Lomond and most in West Dunbartonshire. Next in their sights are high schools, educating teenagers on how to use defibrillators in the
event of a heart attack, how to use CPR to revive people and aiding those who are choking. In the past year they have trained 1400 children and adults across the area. That crucial training has already saved six lives. But it does not stop there. The former teacher has ambitions for every school in Scotland to introduce this crucial training, saving many more lives in an emergency. She is working closely with the
There are now more than 100 defibrillators throughout the Helensburgh, Lomond and West Dunbartonshire areas, which are vastly improving the chances of survival for people. Helensburgh Garelochside Rotary Club also helps fund and support the Heart Start trainers for the area. Sheenah Nelson said: “Performing CPR buys time and more than doubles the chances of survival following a cardiac arrest. The children just get stuck in. Save A Life Scotland slogan is ‘I’ll do it’ and, just by doing it, you’re giving that person the best chance of survival. That’s what it’s all about.”
Amazon EMAIL scam warning Action Fraud has received several reports from victims who have been sent convincing looking emails claiming to be from Amazon. The scam email claims recipients have ordered an expensive vintage chandelier. Other reported examples include: Bose stereos, iPhones and luxury watches. The emails cleverly state that if recipients haven’t authorised the transaction they can click on the help centre link to receive a full refund. The link leads to an authentic-looking website, which asks victims to confirm their name, address, and bank card information. Amazon says it will never ask for personal information to be supplied by email.
JOHN MACAULAY LANDSCAPES 2017 marks our thirty years in business!
FMK Flooring was founded 4 years ago by owner Fiona McKeever, who started her business based on two principles – that a customer’s home is their castle, and that when shopping local, customers won’t accept anything less than exceptional customer service. Four years on, and with a strong and ever growing customer base of locals from Helensburgh and the surrounding areas, Fiona is proud to say that she offers exactly that. From their free measuring and estimating service, to their quick and professional fitting service, FMK Flooring makes the entire process of choosing a new floor simple and hassle-free. The shop, based on East Princes Street in Helensburgh, is bursting at the seams with choice for prospective
buyers, with a huge range of quality carpets, rugs, vinyls, laminates and LVT, and their knowledgeable and friendly staff are more than happy to help everyone from first-timers to seasoned homeowners. Too busy to head into town? FMK Flooring also offers a free shop-at-home service, bringing a variety of samples direct to your door for you to consider in the comfort of your own home. We have seen how landscaping has changed over the years and the range of materials available now is amazing, and we have always strived to keep up with all of the changes.
www.johnmacaulaylandscapes.co.uk One of the big changes today is the use of artificial grass. It is the largest part of our business and last year we had over 60 installations. We have a great range of top quality grasses available, from 15ml to 38ml pile. If you have a wet or muddy lawn then this is the answer to all your problems. No more dirty floors and it is ideal for pets and children. Artificial grass can be fitted to decking, putting an end to annual treatments and it’s non-slip!
At JML we also offer a complete landscaping service, including soft landscaping, driveways, patios, paths, walling and decking. We also maintain gardens, using our years of experience. We also offer one-off garden tidy ups. Additionally, you can hire our mini digger complete with experienced operators. Why not get a free quote call John on 07771 708780 or 01389 841423

Phil’s the man to record your band
Baz is up for a Laugh in Oz
Phil Whitaker recorded everything from orchestras to heavy metal bands in his career as a top BBC Radio Producer - and subsequently as an internationally indemand freelancer.
Barry McCulloch grew up in Helensburgh. Now recently settled in Adelaide after serving 22 years in the Royal Navy, he is proving a hit on the local comedy circuit.
Now based at Shandon, Phil is offering his mobile recording services to record local bands, choirs, school performances and more, creating CDs for friends and families, or of course to sell at gigs. He says: “With Mobile Recording Services you can count on a really affordable way to ensure you have the best possible sound recording, all in the very capable and friendly hands of a BBC-trained professional. You can ask for and receive friendly professional advice on your recording or performance project. “These recordings can let big
studios or agents hear how you sound; they can be used as gifts; they can also help raise funds and grants for many organizations and activities.” Phil’s rates are amazingly competitive for such a consummate professional, starting from just £180 - or £150 for students and young people - for a 3½ hour session within 15 miles of Helensburgh. That only increases by 50p a mile to anywhere in the UK.That gives you up to 75 minutes of programme material plus cleanup, basic edit and transfer to CD-R complete with case and full labelling. More details see www. mobilerecord.co.uk
He tells the CA: “I emigrated to Australia after leaving the Royal Navy. Now as well as a full-time job I have time to regularly surf and I’ve become a part time member of the local surf rescue team. “But I thought I’d try something different so I took part in a few local stand-up comedy nights and events. This led to an invitation to take part in the Adelaide Fringe this February and March where I’m doing three shows.” The Adelaide Fringe festival organisers add: “We invited Baz because he has travelled the world and experienced many cultures and wants to share his life experiences. He believes that
COMING SOON
there are a lot of struggles for all groups of people in the world and he wants us to fight the struggles with humour so that we can escape our complex lives and free our minds together. “He’ll bring a piece of Scotland to the Fringe and share what we call banter. His audience may never have been to Scotland, but he is sure that after some inspiration they’ll be booking their tickets very soon.”

SPINFOR2
Spin for 2 is a unique class designed to offer new parents and guardians the opportunity to work out in a relaxed atmosphere with their little one right beside them in their buggy or car seat. The music is played at a much lower level than a regular spin class and with your baby right beside you, you will be able to tend to their needs or take a break at anytime during the class. A typical 45 minute class is made up of 30 minutes cycling, around 10 minutes of toning work for the arms and core and a quick cool down to finish.

LOCAL Cleaning biz is a family affair Irene Probert was working in the care sector when she noticed a huge niche in the market for everything else, as carers only had time for personal care. And that’s where her idea for “Domestic Solutions” came from with its apt slogan : “We clean anything but you.” Irene, from Cardross, has just celebrated five years in business and she’s been telling the CA how it has grown into a real family affair. She said: “My husband Keith joined the company in October to run the in-house launderette, do maintenance, gardening and so on as we have started to expand our full bespoke property management service:' looking after your home when you can't.’ She adds:” It is totally bespoke. GOOD
COMPANY... At The Kitchen Depot, we have always prided ourselves in our family values, on always being prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure that our customers are treated exactly as we would like to be treated ourselves - with courtesy, consideration and professionalism.
But lest we ever become complacent, we actively encourage ongoing feedback - here's what Mr Lee Sanderson has to say:
"The most incredible thing about The Kitchen Depot has been your sky-high levels of customer service. Too often a company will promote customer service as a core value, only to reveal a hollow promise when they don't live up to it." Mr Sanderson continues: "My favourite retailer is John Lewis because I know that they will do whatever they can to put something right if it goes wrong. The Kitchen Depot has performed to the same high standard."
"To favourably compare a small family business to Britain's most respected retailer is not something that I do lightly but you are well worthy of the comparison." Well, thanks for that, Mr Sanderson - please excuse us while we blush with pride. When it comes to looking after our customers, The Kitchen Depot is never knowingly undersold.
