Adriana, fin da piccola, amava ideare e confezionare vestiti per sé e per le amiche, mentre Marco si esprime attraverso la pittura. Le due passioni si incontrano sulla “Via della Seta”. La Farfalla è l’emblema dell’unione: nasce dalla seta, elegante, leggera, con forme aggraziate e colori stupendi. Il design originale delle forme e dei tagli è accompagnato dalla freschezza dei dipinti, che acquistano lucentezza grazie al supporto della seta. Ci siamo ormai dimenticati del piacere sulla nostra pelle di questo splendido tessuto naturale. Utilizzano tutti tipi di seta, a partire dal crepe satin per passare al prezioso crepe de chine e finire al più strutturato tafettas. Sapientemente dipinti a mano, sono vere e proprie opere d’arte da indossare.

Right from when she was a young child, Adriana has always loved designing and creating clothes for herself and her friends, while Marco expresses himself through painting. These two passions met along the “Via della Seta” (the Silk Route). The Butterfly is the emblem of this union: it originates from silk, it is elegant, light with graceful shapes and marvellous colours. The original design of the shapes and cuts is accompanied by the freshness of the painted motifs, which take on a brilliance thanks to the silk base. By now we have forgotten the pleasure of this splendid natural fabric caressing our skin. They use all types of silk, from crepe satin, passing through crepe de chine up to the more structured tafettas. These skilfully handpainted garments are truly works of art to be worn.

Cosa c’è nella testa di un genio? Sono curioso di immaginare come si combinano insieme creatività e razionalità. Fantasia, abbinata a competenze ingegneristiche. Ecco che tutto si intreccia all’interno dei neuroni e le immagini iniziano ad accavallarsi sulla tela di seta. Si sovrappongono come il fluire delle idee che sgorgano inarrestabili. Colori, forme, materiali, costruzioni, anatomia, balistica ed il volo. Un caos creativo, eccolo lì, fissato sulla seta.

What goes on inside a genius’ mind? I am curious to imagine how creativity and rationality are combined. Imagination coupled with engineering skills. This is how everything becomes entwined within the neurons and then images start to overlap one another on the silk canvas. They overlap just as the flow of ideas relentlessly pours out. Colours, shapes, materials, constructions, anatomy, ballistics and flight. Here is creative chaos, immortalised on silk.

The proposals pursue a creative path developing an interaction between sculpture and jewellery, searching for aesthetical and technical solutions in order to concretise a drawing, an idea, a desire... natural elements are positioned alongside precious and non-precious stones and metals, evoking the primitive ornamental function of jewellery, with the passion and enthusiasm handed down over the generations by master Sergio.

Serimania nasce nel 1985 come officina grafica con l’obiettivo di trasformare le idee in progetti concreti e occuparsi di comunicazione. Da sempre è luogo d’incontro e collaborazione per numerosi artisti dei quali stampa opere in serigrafia, unica stamperia in città e in una zona ben più ampia. Negli anni il laboratorio artigiano si è implementato con le nuove tecnologie digitali, la matita è stata sostituita dal computer, la lira dall’euro, il passaparola con la strategia di marketing, la réclame con l’advertising, consolidandosi come punto di riferimento per la comunicazione creativa contemporanea. Le vecchie tecniche, però, non sono state abbandonate e negli ultimi cinque anni è nata una produzione, denominata Romeo Design, di oggetti artigianali che traggono spunto da opere artistiche di Ignazio Romeo socio dell’azienda.

Serimania was founded in 1985 as a graphic workshop with the aim of transforming ideas into concrete projects as well as working in the communication sector. It has always been a venue where several artists have both met and collaborated, creating screen printed works; it is the only print workshop in the city and surrounding areas. Over the years, the artisanal workshop has implemented new, digital technologies, the pencil has been replaced by the computer, the Italian lira by the Euro, word-of-mouth has been replaced by marketing strategies, commercials with advertising, consolidating itself as a point of reference for contemporary creative communication. However, the ancient techniques have not been abandoned and over the past five years, a production workshop has been found, called Romeo Design, creating artisanal objects inspired by artworks by Ignazio Romeo, a partner of the company.

L’opera è un tavolino/scultura che esprime la visione straniante di un ambiente naturale. Terra e acqua sono elementi rappresentati simbolicamente da cubi in ferro, alcuni ossidati a rappresentare la terra, altri dipinti a olio raffigurano l’acqua. La loro composizione crea un irreale paesaggio geometrico che vuole essere una riflessione sulla manipolazione della natura.

This work is a small table/sculpture that expresses the alienating vision of a natural environment. Land and water are elements symbolically represented by iron cubes, some of which have been oxidised to represent the land, while others coated with oil paints represent water. Their composition creates a surreal geometrical landscape that intends to launch a reflection on the manipulation of nature.
