The Adams Street Conservation area is located
in the center of Medway in the Chicken Brook
corridor. The area is popular with the residents
of Medway because of its extensive trail system.
It also has a wide variety of vegetative cover
including forested uplands, early successional
shrub and young forest, an open field, wetlands
including swamps and marshes. Streams cross
through both parcels.
The plan includes recommendations for
ecological management of the meadow and the
other habitats found on the parcel. Invasive plant
species management strategies and priorities are
addressed, and recommendations for new trails
and access are detailed. The plan emphasizes
connectivity and ecological management
strategies for all of Medway's open space as
well as private properties through conservation
landscaping.
