SUSTAINABLE LIVING Since people became more aware of global warming and other environmental issues, ‘sustainable living’ has become a key phrase for everyone keen to reduce their negative impact on the planet. As the message has spread, along with techniques and technologies to make it more palatable, individuals, organisations and businesses have all embraced the idea as an ethical choice. Public initiatives have seen us all reducing and recycling

our waste, taking measures to cut energy consumption and reusing things we’d previously have thrown away and generally reducing our carbon footprint. We drive greener cars, choose more plant-based foods and create wildlife-friendly zones in our gardens. Increasingly, we have got the message to think globally and shop locally, reducing the ‘food miles’ of what we eat and turning our back on harmful chemical additives by buying

fresh, organic products, close to home and without surplus packaging.
