Information boards reveal its significant Roman history. The river is well-stocked for fishing, while the area in general is great for walking, climbing and cycling, not to mention the facilities of a luxury caravan park nearby. Local wildlife is abundant and varied, including red kites, ospreys, owls, polecats and many butterfly and moth species.
