Sharing Results, Inspiring The end of yet another year and the start of a new one are always celebrated at the Odebrecht Organization annual meetings. It is at these meetings that, for a few hours, the company leaders show what was completed during the applicable period and establish the challenges for the next. Since 2009, each company has organized its own event. This year, on December 10 and 11, Odebrecht Oil and Gas (OOG), Odebrecht Realizações Imobiliárias (OR) and ETH Bioenergia gathered their leaders in the cities of Itaipava, in Rio de Janeiro, and in São Paulo and Guarujá, along São Paulo’s Southern coast, respectively. It was an opportunity for the professionals from the three companies to take a look back and focus on that ahead - the

Challenges professionals presented their results in 2010 as well as the Action Programs (APs) for the next harvest, sharing experiences and planning the next challenges. To inspire the actions proposed for 2011, the Schürmann Family opened the first day of the meeting. The lecture was led by Vilfredo and David Schürmann, who highlighted union, determination, planning and planned delegation as the essential elements for success during the expeditions. into reality was cited by the sailors as the main secret to achieving happiness. During the presentation of the APs, Marcelo Odebrecht, Managing Director of Odebrecht S.A., highlighted the Organization’s achievements in 2010 and the challenges for 2011. He affirmed that the number of Members has grown over 20% per year. “This year, the Odebrecht Organization achieved the mark of 115,000 Members and will surpass 137,000 next year,” he said. odebrechtnoticias.com.br / n. 247 /

opportunities for education and the generation of income among residents. During the first half of the year, Odebrecht implemented the vegetable garden production chain, provided training on cultivation techniques and monitored everything from the initial planting to the sale of the first foods. On December 10, the program gathered rural producers for an event to award the best of the year. Engrácia Manuel Simão was the sales champion and received the certificate for “Biggest Producer.” During seven months of work, her average monthly income increased 450%. Josefa Gonçalves was awarded for the most beautiful garden, which included the completion of tasks and excellence of results, and Domingos Avelino Francisco was awarded as the most diligent on the orientation days. In addition to the vegetable garden production chain, Kulonga pala Kukula also develops actions designed to promote the development of the manioc production chain, initiatives focused on providing access to water and on the training and strengthening of the local midwife movement. odebrechtnoticias.com.br / n. 247 /

Mobilizing for Pr For 40 days, over 6,000 Members and partners of the Braskem Camaçari Project, undertaken by Odebrecht Engenharia Industrial in Bahia, were involved with the 2010 CEMAP II Shutdown. The interruption of activities took place at the Basic Raw Material plant, where machinery and equipment services were performed to boost the operational reliability of the plants and meet legal requirements. “A General Shutdown of this size is performed every six years and the planning for the same begins at least one year and a half ahead of time,” said Christiano Cotrim, Shutdown Manager. The work was completed in two shifts and included the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding, a pneumatic test, cutting and welding tasks, work at heights and in confined spaces for internal cleaning, the boiler room, inspection and replacement of parts and cargo movement. Over 40,000 activities were identified and planned for the shutdown. “With the support of the production area, the planning team followed the progress of the work daily, since other tasks were completed in a parallel fashion,” said Cotrim. According to Christiano Cotrim, to organize a general shutdown of this size, which involves a large number professionals, four factors are crucial: planning, partnership, selection and training. “One
