n April 27, Rio de Janeiro got some of its shine back.After remodeling work that lasted two years and eight months, Maracanã Stadium reopened its doors for the first test event, designed especially for the 8,000 workers who helped to rebuild this Brazilian soccer temple, together with their families.The goal was to check all of the infrastructure to ensure that the stadium will be fully operational on the day of the official inauguration.

Among the workers, their families and guests, Maracanã was filled to 30% of its total capacity during an event that hardly resembled a test.For assembler José Alexandre dos Santos, it was “wonderful” to participate in the first event at the stadium that he helped to remodel.“I learned a lot and I’m leaving this better than I was before,” said Santos.“I’m thrilled.”The Member had already worked at another five Odebrecht projects, including at Complexo do Alemão – the Rio Melhor Consortium – as well as Itaguaí Port – ICN (ItaguaíConstruçõesNavais).Now, he is moving on to the Maravilha Port revitalization work, but states that having worked at Maracanã was different than anything he had ever experienced.“I never thought I would be part of the history of Brazil’s largest stadium,” he said.

SHOW TIME The reopening of Maracanã was marked, among other attractions, by the game between the teams Amigos do Bebeto (“Friends of Bebeto”) and Amigos do Ronaldo (“Friends of Ronaldo”) – international champion players who made Brazilian soccer history – and also included the presence of Brazilian President, DilmaRousseff, former President Lula, State Governor, Sérgio Cabral, Vice Governor Luiz Pezão and Mayor Eduardo Paes.“It is a rejuvenated sixty-year-old with new services that leaves nothing to desire compared to any other worldwide,” said State Governor Sérgio Cabral.

watched performances by singers Neguinho da Beija-Flor, Naldo, Preta Gil and Martinho da Vila.While the flag was hoisted, the Brazilian National Anthem was sung by Sandra de Sá, Fernanda Abreu, Ivan Lins and Eduardo Dusek.

After that, television host Luciano Huck, from the Globo Television Network, got out on the field to both announce the start of the game and also award the worker Mumu da Mangueira as part of the “Home Sweet Home” segment included in his program, Caldeirão do Huck. During the presentation, Huck thanked the different spheres of governments and Odebrecht for making the dream of remodeling Maracanã come true.

GET THE BALL ROLLING With their teams out on the field, Bebeto and Ronaldo began the game after the first kickoff by worker Antônio Pereira, Welding Supervisor at the project.’’I began working at Maracanã on August 23, 2010. I started by knocking down the grandstand and I could only think that it needed to be remodeled to make it as beautiful as it was,” he said.“Now, this is exactly what I felt:that I did it.”The Member added:“I never thought I would have the chance to do the first kickoff, and much less so to Ronaldo himself.I lived the dream of all those who like Maracanã.It made me incredibly happy,” he said.

Under the command of the coaches Espinosa – Amigos do Ronaldo – and Zagallo – Amigos do Bebeto –, the game began.

Sixteen minutes into it, Washington, former player for the team Fluminense and known as “Brave Heart,” made the first goal in the “New Maracanã” – as it is being called – for Bebeto’s team.When the last whistle was blown, the scoreboard showed 8 to 5 with Amigos do Ronaldo the winning team.Washington, Giovanni, Edílson, Djalminha, Pedrinho, Roger, Mattheus, Ronaldo and Bebeto made the goals during the game.

THE “NEW MARACANÔ Inaugurated in June 1950, Maracanã is undergoing changes that will offer more comfort and safety to fans, while preserving the original stadium design.

One of the important new features is the roof, which allowed Maracanã to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental

Design (LEED) Certification from the Green Building Council Brazil, since it collects rainwater for reuse in the bathrooms.

The stadium is also being prepared to become a reference in sustainability.In addition to collecting rainwater, the field irrigation water will be collected for reuse with the same purpose.The goal is to reduce water consumption by 30%.Photovoltaic panels are also being installed, designed to produce clean energy and prevent the release of some 5,000 tons of CO2.

Of the 10,000 workers who have already contributed to the project, the Maracanã Rio 2014 Consortium currently has 6,500 working to ensure the stadium’s inauguration on June 2 with the non-official game between Brazil and England.

The “New Maracanã” features innovation in a range of different items: The project designed to improve the visibility from the grandstands brings the field within only 14 meters of the first row of seats and eliminates the so-called “blind spots.”

The Skyboxes changed places and currently consist of 110 spaces that extend an average of 50 square meters each.

The types and number of accesses also increased.

The total evacuation time is from eight to 12 minutes (as established by FIFA standards), and besides this, each ticket will include directions to the numbered seat.

There are 78,838 seats that are approximately 50 centimeters wide and retractable.

The parking capacity increased

135%. Today, there are 328 places.

Part of the original stadium structure was preserved and recovered.

The lighting includes 110 variations of color, allowing fans to identify their teams on the field.

In order to ensure everyone’s safety, a control center was set up using a complete video projection system installed inside the stadium.

The game field is 105 meters long by 68 meters wide.

The drainage system installed is equipped with moisture sensors and each sprinkler is activated by individual commands.The stadium is the first in Brazil to use this system.

n order to mark the transition between the civil construction and preparation phases for the operation of the Pernambuco Arena, a ceremony was held on April 14 to initiate the delivery of the equipment. At the event, which was restricted to authorities and the accredited press, a guided visit

was held for the first time in certain areas, such as the mixed zone, locker rooms and Premium space of the multi-use stadium – to serve as stage to three Confederations Cups games and five 2014 World Cup games.

Taking advantage of this new phase of the arena, the Special Department for the 2014 World Cup, Pernambuco State Government (SECOPA-PE) is promoting a series of guided visits in the stadium, located in São Lourenço da Mata, Metropolitan Region of Recife. The visits will be available until May 19.

THE BALL WILL ROLL With 97.4% of the work completed, the Pernambuco Arena is beginning a phase of tests. The initial verifications will include items such as the electrical and hydraulic installations, ticketing system, food services and security.

The first test event will take place on May 20: a soccer game played between project Members, involving the presence of family members and guests. The second test event, to be held on May 23, will be open to the

public, which will get a chance to watch a non-official game between the soccer team Clube Nรกutico Capibaribe and an adversary that is yet to be announced.

Then, the arena will be delivered to FIFA, which will then begin the preparations to hold the Confederations Cup in June of this year. After the competition in July, the stadium will be operated by Odebrecht for a 30-year period.

A LOOK INSIDE THE ARENA The Pernambuco Arena will offer a range of different spaces for different groups and also favor interaction between people.

In the Premium space, the furniture decoration was designed to create a cozy, bold and ample environment to allow for integration between fans.

In the lounges and restaurants and VIP area, which will be used after the Confederations Cup exclusively by members of the Arena Prime Club

(those who purchase the Skybox and premium seats), the public will have indoor air conditioned environments that are integrated through nine elevators and 13 escalators.

With the capacity to receive 46,000 people, the arena became a milestone in Pernambuco’s development: it represents the beginning of a new urban centrality, helping contribute toward the expansion of the Recife Metropolitan Region into the West Zone over the next 15 years.

The Beginning of a New History in Guatemala On May 5, the Odebrecht Organization began building its first project in Guatemala – the first engineering contract by a Brazilian company in the country.

Odebrecht Infrastructure will recover and expand the country’s main road, the West CA-02 – which extends 140 kilometers and has existed for the past 60 years –, and through which 65% of Guatemala’s GDP is transported.

With an established duration of 36 months, the construction work involves the recovery of two lanes of the road, as well as the installation of two new lanes.

The contract also includes the construction of 76 The Central American bridges along its entire stretch. country borders Mexico, Belize, Honduras and El The investment will total US$ 400 million – 70% of which Salvador will be financed by the Brazilian National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and with 30% financed by the Central American Economic Integration Bank (BCIE). 14th New Odebrecht TransPort Asset The VLT Carioca Consortium – made up of the companies Odebrecht Trans Port , Invepar, CCR, Riopar, the French company RATP and the Argentinean company BRt (Benito Roggio Transporte) – was announced winner of the bidding process to construct and operate the Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) system.

The network will connect Rio de Janeiro’s Port Zone to its financial center and to the Santos Dumont Airport. The four leading companies hold 24.4375% of the stake each, while BRt holds 2 % and RATP, 0.25%. This is the 14 th Odebrecht Trans Port asset and the fourth in the Urban Mobility area, which also includes Super Via , Via Quatro and Otima.

The installation of the LRV is part of the strategy put into place by the Rio de Janeiro state and municipal governments to benefit the population that uses the state’ s public transport network, while also guaranteeing adequate transport infrastructure for holding the 2016 Olympic Games. The LRV will be connected to Super Via , the subway, ferries, BRT ( Bus Rapid Transit) network, conventional bus network and the

Foz: More Investments for Rio Claro As part of a symbolic act, Members of Foz in Rio Claro, located in São Paulo’s rural region, met with Municipal Government employees and other partners to sign the first pipe that will be installed as part of the city’s main sanitation project. The goal is for the municipality to have 100% of the sewage treated by 2014.

The initiative took place at the Tigre ADS plant, where the pipes are produced.

“It is a project undertaken by the Rio Claro workers, with the technology and quality of Rio Claro,” emphasized Mayor Du Altimari, also present at the event. Altimari recalled that with the cleanup of the stream that runs under avenues Tancredo Neves and Visconde de Rio Claro, the site will be free of the unpleasant smell. Olga Salomão, Vice Mayor and Municipal Secretary of Planning, Development and Environment, observed that “the environmental result

justifies its implementation, one marked by a commitment to future generations,” she said.

Paula Violante, Foz Operations Director in the municipality, pointed out: “We are creating an increasingly more sustainable Rio Claro, especially in the area of basic sanitation.” She also pointed out the importance of the work that has been undertaken by the company since 2007. “The advances are continuous: we achieved 55% of sewage treatment in the city and the operation is making the municipality a reference in the country,” said Violante.

The pipes used in the construction work will be produced from resins supplied by Braskem. “The choice of the pipe made from corrugated PEAD was based on the fact that it is a lightweight and resistant material, guaranteeing efficient installation and the capacity to support heavier loads,” said Gabriel Soares, the engineer responsible for the project.

How a Tunnel is Born At the Olmos Irrigation Project, developed by Odebrecht no Peru, April 22 was marked by the start of the tunnel drilling work that will allow for the passage of water to irrigate 38 hectares of lands located in Vale dos Olmos, in the region of Lambayeque, located 900 kilometers from Lima.

On the date on which Earth Day is also celebrated, an operation with 10 small explosions was completed in order to open up the tunnel – which will extend 2,167 meters long. “The Olmos tunnel will be opened using drilling and detonation methods and with locomotion equipment,” explained César Olano, the Engineering Manager for the project.

In one month, a similar operation should be completed on the other side of the tunnel. According to Celmo

Reis, Production Manager, the meeting between the two excavation fronts is scheduled for the 1,117-meter mark.

According to Reis, the project is 20% complete on the seven work fronts along the 100 kilometers of Vale dos Olmos, from Bocatoma La Juliana to Bocatoma Miraflores (Olmos River bed), including 12 kilometers of trapezoidal channel, a tunnel, regulation reservoir and 50 kilometers of piping in the new lands zone, whose installation process is progressing along the South and North stretches.

“We hope to have the construction work completed in September 2014,” said Francisco Gayoso, Olmos Tinajones Special Project (PETO) Manager, who accompanied the opening of the tunnel with the Regional Vice President, Juan Pablo Horna.

Advanced Construction The construction work for the Corinthians Arena, which falls under the responsibility of Odebrecht Infrastructure in SĂŁo Paulo, have advanced 75.24%, in April of this year. There are currently 1,420 Members working on the project.

One of the highlights is the assembly of the metal structures for the West Building roof, to be completed next week with the installation of the tenth module. In the game field area, the assembly work for the grass drainage and cooling system are moving forward quickly.

The services are being completed in a range of different indoor and outdoor areas at the arena, including the bathrooms, spaces for stores, snack bars and restaurants, floors, walls and Skyboxes. Workers are also

focusing on assembling the metal structures of the glass walls for the West and East facades, as well as the assembly of the indoor air conditioning, electrical, electronic, water and sewage system installations.

On April 18, the soccer team Esporte Clube Corinthians, together with Odebrecht and the company Osram, responsible for the technology aspect, tested the arena’s large LED screen for the first time, located on the outer facade of the East building. A total of 170 meters wide by 20 meters high, the big screen is one of the major attractions at the stadium. Conducted at dusk, the tests received a positive evaluation by the technicians and engineers responsible for installing the system.

At the Teles Pires HPP Construction On April 17, at the construction site for the Teles Pires Hydroelectric Power Plant – being built by Odebrecht Infrastructure –, the first pressure tunnel hoop ring (metal piping that conducts water under pressure to the turbines of a plant) was launched from the assembly yard to its final destination: Generation Unit 1 (GU1). The metal rings, which when joined form the pressure tunnel, measure 12 meters in diameter, weigh approximately 38 tons and have a flow of 783 m³/s.

In order to optimize and facilitate the work, two hoop rings were welded together to form a single piece. The preassembly took place in the electromechanical yard using internal metal struts that lock the rings, preventing deformities.

The parts will be partially paved and the struts removed so that the water can pass through and reach the turbines.

The Teles Pires HPP, currently being built between the States of Mato Grosso and Pará, will have a capacity of 1,820 MW.

Debating the Electrical Sector From April 8-11, Odebrecht Infrastructure participated in the 29th National Large Dam Seminar, held in Porto de Galinhas, located in the State of Pernambuco.

The event was designed to debate topics related to environmental studies, projects and constructions of dams based on a sustainable development policy, while also promoting the exchange of technologies, presenting service provider companies and product suppliers and prospecting new businesses.

On April 10, Augusto Roque, Managing Director, presented the theme Odebrecht Infraestrutura in the Electrical Sector as part of the programming of the technical lectures.

In the 18-square meter stand installed in the Exhibit Hall, the public can learn more about the company’s projects, exchange knowledge and obtain information about the Continued Professional Qualification Program Believe.

On Track with the Future Subway On April 23, the President of the Peruvian Republic, Ollanta Humala, visited the construction work for Stretch 2 of the Lima Subway Line 1.

Accompanied by the country’s Minister of Transport, Carlos Paredes; Managing Director of Odebrecht no Peru, Ricardo Boleira; Executive Director of Odebrecht Latinvest, Jorge Barata; President of CESEL Ingenieros, Raúl Delgado; Contract Director of the Metro de Lima Consortium, Carlos Nostre, and consortium managers, Ollanta Humala began his visit at the maneuvering yard and the precast plant, located in San Juan de Lurigancho.

progress of the construction work, the group headed to the Santa Rosa Station by train where they were welcomed by young participants of the LIDERART Social Responsibility program. After that, the group continued on to the main avenue Avenida Próceres de la Independencia onboard a panoramic bus to see the work on the different service fronts.

The visit ended in the Bridge sector, Stretch 0, with a press conference. Ollanta Humala emphasized the progress made by the project on all work fronts and reiterated the commitment to deliver the completed project to the population within the established period.

n April 24, the winners of the third edition of the Odebrecht Award for Sustainable Development - Angola were announced. The award is directed at the country’s university students and is designed to promote the generation of knowledge on topics related to how engineering contributes toward sustainable development to then disseminate this knowledge among members of the Angolan academic community and society in general.

The event, held in Luanda, included the presence of the Minister of the Environment, Fátima Jardim; Minister of Higher Education, Adão Gaspar Ferreira do Nascimento; Minister of Energy and Waters, João Baptista Borges; Minister of Construction, Fernando da Fonseca, Director of the Ministry of Higher Education’s National Board for Technological Development and Innovation, Gabriel Luís Miguel; General Director of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and Technology’s National Technological Center, Rufino Sambanje; the

YOUTH AWARDED In 2012, over 120 workers were entered and 24 were delivered. The projects were initially submitted to an Odebrecht internal commission and dez reached the final phase, when they were evaluated by an external commission.

The three winners were the projects Water Disinfection through Solar Radiation by the students Francisco Barbosa, Anicete Cristóvão and Álvaro Marques, from the Methodist University of Angola, oriented by Professor Márcio Ngolo;

Renewable Energies for Angolan Sustainable Development by student Sílvio Serrão, from the Tundavala Superior Polytechnic Institute, with advisory by Amândio Luís Sanches; and Compensation of the Power Factor in Electric Energy Distribution Networks - An Investment for Angolan Sustainable Development by student Gildo Cabenda from Agostinho Neto University and oriented by Anacleto Cristóvão.

Each group received US$ 22,500 – distributed into three equal parts (US$ 7,500) for students, advisors

After that, there was a roundtable focused on the perspectives of different agents of society on the topic, mediated by Felipe Cruz, responsible for Sustainability at Odebrecht para África, Emirados Árabes Unidos e Portugal.

Participating in the debate were the minister Fátima Jardim, Armindo Pedro da Conceição Mussungo,

representative from the Ministry of Energy and Waters, Luís Teles, responsible for investments in Sustainability at Standard Bank, and Miguel Cordeiro, responsible for Community Relations at Esso in Angola.

Fátima Jardim stated that the country has yet to reach maturity on the topic, but that the environmental performance is solid, and she encouraged those companies present to take part in sustainable actions. “We are a growing country and we need partners,” said Jardim. “Private initiative should invest more and promote, for example, the recycling and management of waste,” she said. She further emphasized: “I

congratulate Odebrecht, which constructed all of this with those who will build tomorrow: the youth.”

Armindo Mussungo spoke about the country’s energy matrix and the important projects to be developed by the Ministry of Energy and Waters; Luís Teles addressed Sustainability at financial institutions and the investments in the area; and Miguel Cordeiro spoke about the Social Responsibility policy and strategies practiced by ESSO in Angola, the strengthening of the workers and the use of high technology. “Sustainability is a responsibility shared by all actors of society, and not just the government or companies,” said Felipe Cruz at the end of the debate. “If each company promotes the well being around it, we can reach the entire country.”

Minister Fátima Jardim closed the ceremony, citing the progress made by Angola in the areas of Education, Health and Environment and alerting as to social problems.

To Encourage Agents of their Own Destiny On April 11 , Odebrecht Realizações Imobiliárias, Odebrecht Oil and Gas, Odebrecht Infrastructure and Foz took part in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro ( UFRJ ) Engineering Flow Week, organized by the Junior University Engineering Course Company. Approximately 1 ,400 students participated in the meetings.

Foz against Dengue Dengue fever is a disease with a major impact on Brazilian public health and controlling it involves the efforts of different sectors of society, governments, communities and companies. With aims of disseminating information about preventing and fighting dengue, Foz is promoting actions in the regions in which it operates, raising the awareness of Members, communities and clients.

In order to support the Brazilian Ministry of Health’s campaign, the operations in the country’s South, Southeast, North and Northeast mobilized efforts for several different initiatives. At the Mauá unit (São Paulo), the supplier is applying chlorine at the interceptor installation work site in the entry and exit wells.

In Cachoeiro do Itapemirim (Espírito Santo), a photo contest is being promoted for those images that demonstrate actions

against dengue. Everyone Against Dengue is designed to develop among participants the practice of separating and storing domestic waste and protecting environments where the mosquito can breed.

In Rio de Janeiro, Foz Águas 5 conducted an inspection visit at the Sewage Treatment Plant to identify possible mosquito breeding sites.

In Tocantins, SANEATINS is participating in meetings of the Dengue Committee and Contingency Plan promoted by the Departments of Health, and is also planning some preventive and corrective actions as part of the campaign. In Jaguaribe, Salvador, a partnership was established with the neighborhood’s Health District and there was the elaboration of a traditional Cordel story about dengue, which was then distributed for the participants of the ProYouth course and to local municipal, state and private schools.

The expansion in its services led the Expressways team to choose a new name for the space: Humanized Outpatient Care in Occupational Health

The Expressways Project adjusted its outpatient installations to contribute toward the good occupational health of the Odebrecht in Angola Members.

The physical remodeling and acquisition of new equipment allow for improved assistance for professionals and partners.

It will also make it easier for users to schedule procedures and reduce the time for completing exams and the related costs.

“Before, we had a hard time completing a hearing test, for example, due to a shortage in the offer of the service,” explained Bruno Bitencourt, the Administrative and Financial Manager for Expressways. “Because the project is located in a central zone of

Pact for Workplace Safety In April, the Construtor Santo Antônio Consortium (CCSA) signed the Always Safe Program Safety Pact at the Santo Antônio Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) construction site. The pact consists, among other actions, of 10 commitments focused on Workplace Safety with a focus on preventing accidents, constructed based on Members’

CCSA Contract Director, Délio Galvão, emphasized that Workplace Safety is an absolute top priority in the development.

AWARDS FOR PPPS The IFC analyzed 250 contracts from the PPP model in the emerging markets of Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe from 2007 to 2012. In the end, 40 projects were selected in Benin, Bhutan, Brazil, Egypt, India, Jordan, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Ruanda and Zambia to improve people’s quality

The scarcity of public resources and need for infrastructure make the Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) an alternative for ensuring the feasibility of infrastructure projects in the different countries.

In Latin America, for example, 2% of the GDP is applied to infrastructure, when the minimum according to World Bank studies is considered to be 5%.

As a way to change this situation, over recent decades these countries began to use the PPP model, which allows for a partnership between companies and governments in order to make the construction work possible.

“This model presents the benefit of specialized knowledge and innovation from the private sector to improve the quality and efficiency of infrastructure and public services,� said Laurence Carter, Advisory Service Director at IFC. According to Carter, infrastructure is crucial for the growth of developing countries, and the PPs are opening up the path to achieve this development.

Professionals from the industry with international experience analyzed 66 projects in the categories of Airports/ Ports; Bridges/Tunnels; Culture; Education/Research; Environment; Government Buildings; ‘Green’ Projects; Health; Office; Energy/ Industry; Rails; Residential/ Hotel; Retail/Miscellaneous Developments; Roads/Highways; and Sports/Entertainment. The award ceremony for the ENR’s Best Projects will be held on June 6 and 7 in New York during the ENR 2013 Global Construction Summit, an event which gathers professionals from the global construction market to explore opportunities for growth and analyze solutions for international challenges.

Believe: International Award The Continued Professional Qualification Program – Believe, an Odebrecht Energia initiative designed to train and include new professionals in the job market, earned one of its creators, Antonio Cardilli, the international award “ENR Award of Excellence,” granted to personalities who stood out as members of innovative projects in the construction sector.

Created in 2008, Believe guaranteed that 80% of the 20,000 workers involved at the peak of work for the Santo Antônio

Hydroelectric Power Plant in Porto Velho, Rondônia, were residents of the region, contributing toward local socialeconomic development and reducing possible impacts caused by migratory movements.

The programming also featured a lecture by the Executive Chair of the Odebrecht Foundation, Mauricio Medeiros, who talked about the experiences of the Bahia Southern Lowlands Environmental Protection Area Mosaic Program for Development and Growth Integrated with Sustainability (PDCIS) – an initiative focused on and oriented toward meeting the eight goals in the region.

“We encourage the organization of the family units into cooperatives, train the new generation to find work and income, add value to the farmers’ crops and seek partnerships to help sell the products,” said Medeiros. “This is the logic of the PDCIS,” he said.

and Millennium Development Goals, described the challenges of the MP: “As a priority, we want to offer what is basic and considered the population’s right,” said Medeiros.

In order to close the event, a letter of intent was elaborated, designed to propose an agenda that would make it possible to meet the MDGs in the State of Bahia, primarily in the Southern Lowlands. Prioritizing actions focused on quality public education and health and maintaining close, qualified communication between institutions

Present at the event were representatives from the General Department of the Presidency of the Republic, UNDP, CGU, Odebrecht Foundation, Association of Bahia Southern Lowlands Municipalities (AMUBS), Intermunicipal Consortium of the Pratigi Environmental Protection Area (CIAPRA), National Commercial Learning Service (Bahia branch), Santa Cruz State University, National Movement for Citizenship and Solidarity and the bank Banco Nacional do Nordeste.

COOPERATION AGREEMENT The Odebrecht Foundation and MP-BA signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement and defined an agenda of events to be promoted during the year 2013.

The 1st Participative Governance Forum was a joint action by the institutions. The proposal is to strengthen the relationship between the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Odebrecht Foundation with the society of the Bahia Southern Lowlands by discovering the problems in the areas of cooperation and answering the population’s questions about their basic given rights.

Braskem is incorporating the Safe Printing Project, an intelligent paper printing system, at its Brazilian plants and offices.

With the initiative, the company was able to save 4 million sheets of paper and reduce R $ 1 .2 million in costs in 2012 .

Before the project, Braskem had approximately 1 ,000 printers distributed throughout its

points at each site to reduce the number of machines to 685 .

The pages sent for printing are stored on a server, which keeps all of the requests recorded for 24 hours. Accordingly, after the identification of the user through the badge barcode or using a login and password entered into the machine, the Member has access to his or her

units in the country. In order to install the new system, there was a mapping of the strategic

list of requested printouts and can decide what he or she really wants to print.

With the new printing system installed in Brazil, Braskem is reducing the inappropriate use of paper and related environmental impacts
