Key Club Pledge I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and world; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.
LTG’s Note Happy September, Belugas! I hope you're all getting settled into the new school year at home. I know it's not how we wanted to start, but I hope you can make the most of it and take the extra time to complete some service hours! As member recruitment season is upon us, please encourage your friends to join Key Club! We have been one of the few clubs continuing activity in quarantine, and lots of people will be looking for activities to do at home or for their college applications. Stay safe and take care of yourselves at home everyone! I can't wait to see you all at the next event! Spouting Into Service,
Emily Lu Lieutenant Governor 2020-2021
A letter from the
Editor Hello Everyone! Welcome to September! I hope you are all doing well. It seems crazy that we started school a month ago or less, but I hope you are all staying afloat. To anyone who just joined Key Club this year, welcome! We can’t wait to welcome you into our Key Family and make many memories this year. To everyone else, even though it may be under different circumstances, let’s make this year our best one yet. We can still enjoy our time together at DCMs and do service all year long. Increasing member participation and service is still a very attainable goal, as we can make the most of our time at home to make an impact when our world needs it most. Everyone please stay say safe, wear your masks, and stay serving! Excited to Serve,
Ria Parikh News Editor 2020-2021
Dare to Donate
July DCM RECAP
Submitted By: Ashley Ma
The July DCM, “Dare to Donate, was a tremendous way for our Division to earn money for PTP while watching the Presidents and DLT members do challenges that are out of their comfort zone. We shared laughs and cried a little, but along the way we were able to fund up to $168 for PTP in just under 1 hour and 30 minutes! At the end of the day, it was very delightful to see many of our members go out of their way to either do a challenge or donate for the greater good, and it was definitely one for the books.
- Nathan Tran, Ruben S. Ayala
I was excited to go to the dare to donate DCM because it was one of those Youtube challenge videos but brought to me live. We were raising money for the pediatric trauma program and within the first ten minutes, raised over 60 dollars. It was truly amazing to see everyone come together. Watching the DLTs and presidents doing these challenges was very funny, too... props to them, though; I could never...
-Katelynn Situ, Chino Hills
The dare to donate DCM was a very fun and creative way to fundraise money for charity. Not only did members get a laugh out of watching their DLT and presidents do dares, but it helped bring all the clubs closer together and members from different clubs got to bond. The donations from the DCM exceeded the goal amount which was also another really good thing about the DCM. In the end, members also got to chat and bond with their LTG which helps bring D15S closer together. Overall, the dare to donate DCM was a big success!
- Naya Lee, Chino Hills
The DCM was really amazing. Not only do we get to see friends and many other familiar faces, we get to see them do dares such as the spicy ramen challenge and the ice bucket challenge. But the dares were done only if we donated. Can confirm, donating is definitely worth it because the money will go to benefit those struggling and we have a fun time overall.

Articles AND Visuals
Kindness Rocks I participated in the June event, Kindness Rocks. I got to spend time with my friend while painting rocks I would place in my front yard. Looking out my window and seeing people smile while looking at my rocks was so rewarding and I’m so glad I could brighten my neighbors’ days. If there are more events that involve my neighborhood, I will gladly participate in them. I had a wonderful time.

This month I participated in a key club event called “Thankful Thursday where members create birthday cards for foster youth and mail them out. It is an amazing way to send encouragement and appreciation to social workers, staff, and the youth. I truly enjoyed working on this project and included many things on my cards to make them smile such as puns, pictures, and designs.

We earned money for UNICEF by answering math problems.

Key club international International Spotlight Major Emphasis Project Mission: To bring together all Key Clubs and members to focus on making an international impact in the theme “Children: Their future, Our Focus.” Background: Major Emphasis was started shortly after Key Club’s first International Convention in 1946, when they were tasked with creating a program in which all members could work together to change the world. Our Impact: According to cnhkeyclub.org, “Since 1925, Key Club International has provided more than 12 million hours of service to homes, schools, and communities each year. From building bridges, to collecting over six tons of
food, thousands of dollars raised for cancer research, helping eliminate iodine deficiency disorder, Key Club International plays a vital role in serving the children of the world.” Partner Organizations: UNICEF, March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network What You Can Do: At the club level, you can help raise money for partner organizations and participate in service events near you. Any service project that involves aiding children or our partner organizations is part of the Major
Emphasis project. You can also help your club create their own service project and enter the Key Club International Major Emphasis Contest. FOR MORE INFORMATION GO TO CNHKEYCLUB.ORG/PROJECTS/MAJOR-EMPHASIS FOR CONTEST INFORMATION GO TO KEYCLUB.ORG/RESOURCES/CONTESTS-AWARDSENTRY-FORMS/
