To clear his name and stay alive, he leaves town. En route protection from his pursuers is provided by the intriguingly named Eve (Eva Marie Saint). Witty, impudent and suspenseful, this is Hollywood filmmaking at its most urbane and glamorous.

Laura Lexx, your host for the evening, is an actress, comedian and writer who performed her critically-acclaimed solo show, Tyrannosaurus Lexx, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2016. Nominated for Best Compere at the 2016 and 2017 Chortle Awards, she has gigged at comedy clubs and festivals all over the UK and Europe as well as providing support for Jason Manford and Russell Kane.
Otiz Cannelloni (above right) combines the illusion of magic and the wit of stand up to produce a hybrid comic creation. With a mind more suited to testing crash helmets, his performance fluctuates between sheer genius and downright stupidity.

Niall Johnson’s thrilling Western adventure The Stolen is a heart-wrenching story set in New Zealand, following a woman on a life-defining journey to rescue her kidnapped son.
Richard is a virtuoso musician who plays everything from Bach to the Beatles, musical theatre to rock and roll and just about everything else in between. As Master of the Keys he holds a phenomenal stage presence with the technical ability to truly entertain.
Set in 1860, Charlotte Lockton has settled in the South Island of New Zealand with her wealthy husband David during the Gold Rush. Charlotte’s world is turned upside down and her circumstances are drastically altered when her son is kidnapped. To find him she joins a convoy of ex-cons, prostitutes and Maori warriors heading for the rough mining community of Gold Town.
Richard’s influences range from Andre Rieu to Rick Wakeman and 70s rock band Sky. His concert will include some of the world’s best-loved instrumental hits including the Coronation Scot, the Devil’s Gallop, 76 Trombones and famous TV and film themes including the Dambusters’ March and Chariots Of Fire.

The corruption of innocence is at the heart of Verdi’s potent tragedy in David McVicar’s production for The Royal Opera. Rigoletto, court jester to the libertine Duke of Mantua, is cursed by the father of one of the Duke’s victims for his irreverent laughter. When the Duke seduces Rigoletto’s daughter Gilda, it seems the curse is taking effect…
After defeating the Mouse King, the Nutcracker and Clara travel through the Land of Snow to the Kingdom of Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy treats them to a wonderful display of dances. Back home, Clara thinks she must have been dreaming – but doesn’t she recognise Drosselmeyer’s nephew? Peter Wright’s production for The Royal Ballet ranks as one of the most enduring and enchanting versions of The Nutcracker. With its festive period setting, dancing snowflakes and enchanting stage magic, Ivanov’s 1892 ballet is perfect Christmas entertainment, and Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous, sugarspun music the most recognisable of all ballet scores.
David McVicar’s production highlights the cruelty at the heart of the court of Mantua. Richly dressed courtiers engage in orgies and revelries to Verdi’s heady, spirited dances. The opera’s many musical highlights include the ebullient ‘La donna è mobile’, in which the Duke boasts of his disregard for women; Gilda’s exquisite, plangent duets with Rigoletto and the Duke and the gorgeous Act III quartet that beautifully weaves the voices together as the story quickens to its shattering conclusion.
