The Denton Public Library will begin a series of exhibits, lectures and viewings in December that examine the challenges Abraham Lincoln faced during times of secession and war, and the lasting impact of his decisions as 16th president of the United States. The centerpiece of this series is the traveling exhibit, “Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War,” organized by the National Constitution Center and the American Library Association Public Programs Office. The exhibition is made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in part by a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. “Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War” is based on an exhibit developed by the National Constitution Center.
