FRANCA FRANCHI FRANCA FRANCHI (Piacenza 1961) came to art in 2008, after 25 years in the legal profession, resuming the artistic inclination that she had already manifested at a young age. Since her beginnings, she has tried to combine in her works artistic research with functionality . Beauty has to be used to come in our lives, to support our days and to give identity to our environments to be caressed, cradled and protected. With that at the forefront, the artist found herself as a designer, a designer of unique pieces: that is how she started to create her "sculptures for living" both making furnishing such as tables, mirrors, chairs, and also creating jewel sculpture (wearable sculptures) since beauty can give identity also to ourselves, who we are, what we feel we are, and how we appear to others.
RECYCLING AND ECOLOGICAL CONSCIENCE Franca Franchi always expressed her creativity through recycling. Our society produces things just to consume. Production and consumption inevitably cause waste, and waste is an harmful danger to the balance of the planet that demands new energy consumption and new pollution to be disposed of or reinserted into the production cycle. The artist designer escapes this deadly game for the planet. Through her hands, the scraps become works of art and unique design pieces , with minimal intervention and almost zero impact on the environment.

BEBA DESIGN LINE - sculptures for living The Beba Design line was born from the presence in the area where the artist designer lives and works of many metalworking companies (steel and iron) that use laser cutting. This type of processing inevitably produces, as waste, metal plates with holes of various shapes and sizes arranged in an absolutely random way. The artist fell in love with this randomness of shapes and captures its beauty. In the artist path of Franca, the Zen aesthetics played a decisive role, in which chance is a fundamental element. The line includes panels to be used for separating rooms and creating spaces, chairs, tables of various types including wall consoles.

”In the artworks of Franca Franchi we can see basic concepts such as: symmetry and dissymmetry, light and darkness, empty and full, concepts that are approached in a sense by helping to create the work in itself. Enlightening and bringing into darkness is the paradigmatic beginning of the work of art, taking positive and negative characteristics at the same time with the same features which are part of the Zen aesthetics.”
