Fall Rally South is over! Post FRS Depression anyone? I hope those who attended had an amazing time. Now we are going into the holiday season. This may be the best time to do some service! For example: can collecting, food bank or even setting up a gift wrapping table at a local bookstore. Do not forget to continue planning and attending events because service never stops! Historians, please remember to submit your articles by the 10th of every month with at least two service visuals. Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving!
My Key Club Story I heard so much great things about Key Club in middle school and about the service. I joined in my freshman year, but I was one of those people who came to the meetings, but didn't do any service. Sophomore year came along and due to my freshman year experience, I wasn't going to join again because I thought, "What's the point?" Then, my best friend Christina mentioned Fall Rally which convinced me to join. I was urged to go to a DCM at the end of my sophomore year by my LTG Julie Trinh, she promoted going to events and doing service for me. My whole world changed when I joined my junior year. I fell in love with Key Club and participated in almost every event. I was also awarded Member of the Month after being in Key Club for only two months. It has been a great experience due to all the great people I have met and grew a greater bond with. I regret the opportunity of not joining sooner and taking it seriously, I hope whoever does read this doesn't make the same mistakes I did. Ain't no party like the monkeys cuz a monkey's party don't stop. I love my division and I'm glad to be apart of the Key Club family. David Kith, Lakewood
Hello Green Monkeys! I’m Anfernee, your Co-Spirit Coordinator! I just want to thank everybody for making this last Fall Rally an amaaaazzziiingggg one! I’ve always been thankful for my friends for bringing me in this club too, if it wasn’t for them I wouldn't have met so much amazing people! I remember when I attended my first RTC. This day will forever be the highlight of my Key Club year! The SQUAD was made, new memories were made, but the bonding and the family I made (You all know who you are) was the most special one. Enjoy every single moments you make in Key Club! Treasure those people and events that makes you the happiest. Time is fast and you'll find yourself crying at your last DCON frown emoticon Anyways, have a great Thanksgiving everybody, eat all the food you can consume lol! Also, do NOT procrastinate on your college apps! Anfernee Abad, Artesia

M-O-N-K-E-Y-S, D13 North is the best! I can't believe it's over honestly. After months of preparation, fundraising, and anticipation, Fall Rally South 2015 was one to remember with $1,300+ raised for the Pediatric Trauma Program, 5,000 + service hours and counting, and 300+ monkeys in attendance! I apologize for all the complications faced in the morning with the long lines, getting through security, and confusions you may have all faced. Regardless of that, we were not there to win a spirit stick, but were there to celebrate service and raise donations for an amazing program that helps children around the world. It seems only so long ago I was installed in March and now I'm coming towards the end of my bittersweet term. Thank you for letting me be able to stand on stage dancing and cheering my heart out for you all. Thank you to Jasmine Nauta, Sean Kim , Nathan Edwards, Kamryn Sagiao, Gisselle Bulan, Jr Alvarez, Louanne Santos, and Marco Perez for being amazing presidents and helping out with Fall Rally. Our spirit grows more and more each year, but I'm glad that one of things I wanted to change upon election was to increase our love for service. It's amazing to see you all send me photos and see posts about what your club is doing. On the night of Fall Rally, I cried my eyes out at least four times and I low key hate you all for it. When you all huddled around and said “L-O-V-E, we love our LTG, I couldn't bare not breaking into tears cause of how much I love you all. Thank you for giving the opportunity to serve you everyday. I hope you all had a magical and fun experience yesterday making new friends and memories! Thank you to my DLT, to the advisors that came to take care of us, Region team, and all of you for making fall rally the best and last memory for me. Once a green monkey, always a green monkey! L-O-V-E, I LOVE MY DI-V! Also, we won Karl from D1 Foxes with $1,000 so we get him for a day!
Julie Trinh Division 13 North Lieutenant Governor 2015-2016
Hi green monkeys! Fall Rally is over (cries). Did you lose your voice? Although, I didn't get to go, I hope that you all had an amazing time meeting new people and participating in spirit battles! 5 Y'all looked amazing in your monkey spirit gear! Although fall rally is over, don't forget to plan service events! If you have any questions about anything or need advice feel free to message me! I hope you all have fantastic holidays and I'll see you soon! Jessica Doan Hola Cholas! It has been such an eventful month and I am currently suffering from a serious case of post FRS depression! Fall rally was a blast and I hope you had tons of fun! I lost my voice but that's ok, it was so worth it. I've said this a bunch of times already, but I just want to thank ALL OF YOU MONKEYS for making my last fall rally an unforgettable one! Continue to be the awesome and amazing leader you are! L-O-V-E I LOVE MY D-I-V!! As always, stay crispy ;--) Bethany Nguyen Fall was a blast but now we look to begin winter. As we enter our coldest season of service I want to remind everyone of Fall Rally our most spirited fundraiser for PTP to keep the monkey spirit for service lit. Fall Rally was awesome and an amazing way to make our mark against PTP. All through next month, December, we are going to be ready and waiting for ways to serve our communities! I hope you all have an amazing December and make sure to stay healthy! Gilberto Peraza-Martinez
Hey Monkeys! Wow it's already December?! Thank you all so much for your hard work and service during these stressful times (cough college apps, seniors I'm looking at you). Thank you all for attending Fall Rally South and helping raise funds for PTP! It is wonderful to know we have all made a difference just by attending this event. It is also now the time to go to CTC, Candidate Training Conference, if you are interested in running for Lieutenant Governor! Again, thank you monkeys for working hard and doing your best so far this term. You have all contributed so much and I am so happy to serve as your EA! I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving and break! Ansley Tran
Hey y'all! I hope everyone had a great time at Fall Rally! I am so proud of everyone in our division. Even though we faced some difficulties with the security check and lines, we still were able to have a great time during our rally and showed great sportsmanship. Remember that Fall Rally isn't about winning the spirit stick but instead about celebrating all of the money we earned for PTP. Not only that but I'm super proud of y'all during the spirit battles! Like geez, everyone went all out , making your spirit coordinator proud *heart emoticon*. I hope that everyone had a memorable Fall Rally South, especially the seniors since this was their last Fall Rally as high schoolers. Can't wait to see y'all at our next DCM! L-O-V-E, I LOVE MY D-I-V! Christie Lee

Artesia President: Sean Kim
Hi I am Sean Kim, President of Artesia High School's Key Club. I am 17 years old, Class of 2016! Fun fact, I am of Korean -Japanese background. I've been in Key Club for three years and I was Vice President my junior year. Being the president has been a good experience for me as it gives me the feeling of presidency that I've never practiced before. Being the president also helps me practice interacting with a team to get work done. Outside of Key Club I like to surf the web or play tennis. I am also academic as I have 4 AP classes: Comp Sci, Japanese, Bio, & Literature. Thank you for your time and have a nice day!

My second and last fall rally experience was lit. It was really fun cheering on our division and the other divisions at the theater, screaming on the rides, free hugs and meeting new people from other divisions! Fall Rally one of the best moments of my Key Club Life. I hope I will never forget this moment and I will cherish these beautiful memories of Key Club. #postfallrallydepression Jayden Tedtaotao

This past month, Norwalk High School Key club helped volunteer at the tlc Halloween party. We also helped Art Club build art projects for the upcoming event Artrageous, which is in May. Also for community service we helped the Millennium Club recycle by collecting bind from every classroom and sort out trash from recyclable. This month we are planning a movie night event on the 20, and part of the money fund-raised will go to ptp and a homeless shelter for the upcoming holiday.
Kelly Rueda, Norwalk On October 24th, Warren Key Clubbers volunteered at a warehouse in Downey, filling boxes with clothes. The holidayss are approaching quickly and the weather will soon be freezing cold! Warren Key Clubbers had the opportunity to fill OVER 70 boxes with clothes for kids, teens, and adults, so that they can keep cozy this season. Volunteers also helped make boxes, fold clothes, and separating each item, and so much more! Warren Key Clubber's sacrificed their Saturday morning sleeping in to help others in need for this chilly upcoming season. We hope the people who receive the clothes will keep warm and enjoy the holidays with their families. Bethany Nguyen, Warren This year Key Club participated at the Annual Pumpkin patch at Apollo Park here in Downey. From 4:30-9 kids of all ages were able to participate in a bunch of activities ranging from playing in a jumper, face painting, and playing carnival games. Most of our club manned the carnival games booths and we were able to have kids participate in a mini-game and then we would give candies and toys to them regardless if they won or not. We were also able to dress up as our favorite characters. This year’s Pumpkin Patch was a blast and I can’t wait till next year. This is our first time participating in a beach clean-up at Huntington Beach. We started early at 8:30 and went all the way up to 12:00. It was really fun to be able to keep our community clean while on a beautiful beach, with an amazing view. A special thing about this cleanup was that we had a special container for cigarettes. At the end of the cleanup we were able to see the amount of cigarettes everyone was able to collect. All of us were glad to have been at the beach clean-up and we look forward to our next one. For the month of October, Lakewood Key Club had a collaboration with Best Buddies Club. This occasion took place on October 23. Best Buddies is a club for Lakewood students to interact and have fun with the special education students. During our collaboration, we made Halloween treats using lollipops! We spent our time happily using crafts by making our lollipops look like spiders and pumpkins. Best Buddies Club also provided a photo booth to take pictures with many props to use! After the amazing lollipop designs, Key Clubbers shared the adorable Halloween treats with the Buddies. The buddies were so happy to offer their treats to their friends and gave each other adorable hugs. The surplus of spider and pumpkin lollipops were donated to a nearby hospital! Jennie Vong, Lakewood
Excited for Halloween, Cerritos Key Clubbers came together to volunteer at several carnivals this year. The first carnival was on Friday, October 30th at Palms Park. Members took charge of several game booths and had amazing time interacting with the children. The second carnival was at the Cypress Community Center on Saturday October 31st. Cerritos Key Clubbers volunteered at a balloon pit, game booths, and helping hand out free reusable bags to those who entered. The volunteers had a great time seeing kids and parents of all ages in so many different costumes having fun together! All in all, Cerritos Key Clubbers had a great time together this Halloween! A few weeks ago, on October 17, RTC occurred and we, board members, had the pleasure to hear about how it went for our new members. Many of the new Key Club members had the opportunity to attend and were stoked to have gone. The new Green Monkeys shared how they loved learning about the club they joined through the sessions that were offered during RTC. Also the spirit battles were the most popular thing mentioned throughout our members because they didn’t know how passionate and spirited Key Club usually is; our new members are super excited about how much spirit everyone has and they hope to add more spirit to our D13N family. We are so glad that our new monkeys had the opportunity to open to new members because we want them to feel comfortable with us. We, of course, want them to know how friendly and loving we all are. RTC is definitely a Key Clubbers favorite thing in the world, take it from us … Artesia’s Green Monkeys !! One thing we know about Artesia Green Monkeys is that they have spirit. The spirit squad is working together to come up with new chants and share their ideas in RTC. New ideas are coming from the fresh mind of the squad that everyone loved last year because who can forget about them? Yes, the boys you love are coming together to bring you cheers from the heart with some good rhythm and rhymes. ARE YOU GUYS READY FOR THEM BECAUSE WE SURE ARE? We hope that D13N is as excited as we are to scream our new chants at the top of our lungs. Who knows maybe this time with our new and fresh chants we will be able to win the spirit stick once and for all! Green Monkeys are always full of spirit and one wonderful way we choose to show it off at Artesia High was by building a float that represented who we are. Float making was a day of bonding because they dedicated their time and effort on the Key Club float for hours. Everyone enjoined their time there because it was not only hard work that made the float turn out wonderful but also the passion that was put into the float. Our board members and other key club members provided snacks and drinks for every green monkey that was putting together the float to represent us at AHS’s Homecoming Rally. We hope that we improved on our creative skills and win first place or second place since last year we won third place in the float contest.
Alyssa Jarnetta, Artesia This past month, Huntington Park Key Club was granted a proclamation by the city counsel to continue our service. In other news, Huntington Park Key Clubbers helped out at the LA Food Bank where they packaged fruits and vegetables for local families. Also, we still continue to help at Tree People events. Every other Tuesday we manage to gather members to go to our local parks Salt Lake and Raul Perez to help maintain the beautifulness of the trees within our community. Jazmin Perez, Huntington Park
