ltg's letter

Hey, Goldfish! Thank you for such an amazing first month of the term, we are honestly off to an amazing start. I was really apprehensive about the amount of effort that everyone was going to put in this month, but yet again, I was pleasantly surprised. Your devotion to Key Club is truly admirable. We have raised over $400 for the Pediatric Trauma Program ALREADY! A special thank you to the 45 of you that showed up to the fundraisers, it was really nice to see all of your faces, some for the first time. I'd like to give a special thank you to the 42 officers that attended our first Region event of the term, Officer Training Conference. I hope you all had an amazing time and learned at least one valuable lesson. You guys are all such devoted members and board officers; it really is inspiring to both my region and me. I hope you all made a couple of new friends and experienced a world outside of our division. We have a lot more in store for this upcoming term, so be on the lookout for that. I can't wait for you all to be at Beach Boomba! It's one of the best events of the year, but you'll get to experience that for yourself once you go. Thank you all for reading, and have a wonderful rest of your month.

Kevin Nguyen: Executive Assistant Hello, D04E! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer so far! For this term, I will be your executive assistant along with Vy Le. It is an honor to serve on the DLT, and I am super excited to serve you all. I'm hoping to bring more spirit to all the schools and uniting them to empower our division. Through my experience in Key Club, I was able to grow and learn the importance of service, as well as the spirit that I give off; I especially want to share this experience with you all. Communication is key in keeping our division strong, so I hope that I will be able to talk to you all and provide you with the necessary information for you guys to thrive. Let’s make this year one of the best years that our division has ever experienced! I hope to see everyone at Beach Boomba!

Kelly Pham: Division Secretary Hi D04E Goldfishies!!! I’m Kelly Pham, and I’m honored to say that I will be serving as your division secretary for the 2019-2020 term. To my secretaries... I can’t wait to work alongside you guys this term! During the last term, I served my home club (Villa Park!) as secretary, and it was not the easiest job. As someone who has been in your position, I’ll definitely be there to help you throughout this term. If you have any issues with your MRF or are unsure what your secretarial position entails, I’m the person you can speak to. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns! To my division... being able to serve you as a member of your Division Leadership Team makes me incredibly proud. D04E is filled with so many bright and caring people, and I’m very excited to get to know all of you this term. hip team's letters

Vy Vu: Division News/Tech Editor HEY THERE! I am this term's Division News Editor, and honestly, I am scared about how much effort and time I am going to put into making newsletters, editing articles, and building new friendships. This is actually the first newsletter that I made, and I’m hoping that everyone enjoys it! My goal is to improve the division, and I am ready to dedicate most of my time to Key Club to complete that goal! I'm excited for more people to join this big family and new experiences since Key Club provides tons of opportunities for everyone. To those I annoy constantly about Key Club, I am sorry, but I just want to try to be the best DNE/DTE. I’m trying my best, and I hope you are, too (: I love this community way too much, and I am ready to serve y'all! XOXO vy vu.

Vincent Vu: Fundraiser+Spirit Coordinator My name is Vincent Vu, and I have the opportunity to serve as both Fundraising and Spirit Coordinator for the 2019-2020 term. I am so fortunate to be able to better our community in Orange County and be an influence on our division as a whole. I am confident in saying that this term, under Caden Hise, our LTG, will be a great one! I hope to see everyone at spirit rallies, fundraisers, and DCM's. Thank you for choosing Key Club, and let's swim into service together!

Audrey Shin: Division Historian Hey, Fishies! My name is Audrey Shin, and it is my honor to serve Division 4 East as Division Historian for the 2019-2020 term. I am super excited to document the amazing things our division will achieve as well as all the service projects we will volunteer at. Furthermore, I hope to make eye-catching graphics to promote our future events. Can you believe it’s already Summer?! Do you know what Summer means?! BEACH BOOMBA! I can't wait to hit the waves and see everyone at this annual event! One of my favorite places to take pictures is at the beach, so I am truly excited to document our Division’s experience here! I’ll ALWAYS be the one with the camera at an event taking random pictures of you all. I promise I’m no stalker, it’s just my job! Throughout this term, I hope to take nice pictures and showcase what our Division does for our community. Can’t wait for what’s going to be an amazing year! Stay cool and wear lots of sunscreen!

Suzan Kesbeh: Event Manager Hello Goldfish! My name is Suzan Kesbeh and I’m so honored to be Division 4 East’s next event manager for the 2019-2020 term! MAY DCM

By: Gillian Pascual

Another month, another amazing DCM! May DCM was the March of Dimes event, which not only was available for Division 4 East but also the divisions around the area! Also, present to walk for the cause were families that wanted to help with the cause. The walk was organized to raise funds for premature babies and their hospital funds. There were two featured celebrity guests from the news. Due to the early call time for the walk, there was plenty of coffee, water, and free food to energize the participants for the walk! Participants from Division 4 East, led by our Lieutenant Governor (LTG) Caden Hise, and the other divisions, led by their LTGs, walked for 3 miles to give their part in raising the funds. There were also other activities provided for the participants by the organization. There was a kid zone that had jumpers for the children that weren’t partaking in the walk, as well as awesome reptile displays, game trucks, and more! Villa Park Key Club’s Jocelyn Flores and Lolei Maneafaiga had a blast and were thankful for the opportunity to help raise funds for the cause!

SPRING FEST By: Sky Do

On Sunday, May 19th, 2019, Foothill Key Club participated at an event called Spring Fest at the Environmental Nature Center (ENC) in Newport Beach. The club volunteers set up, took down, and ran a variety of game booths for children. One dollar was traded in for one paper currency that was used to play the games. If the players won the game, they would receive tickets that could be used to enter a raffle contest. At the ENC, there were many animals displayed for people to interact with, such as birds of prey, snakes, and lizards. The volunteers taught children about the environment and how they could take care of it. By volunteering there, money was raised to fund the non-profit environmental facility and its museum. Key Club was able to give back to the community and have a blast interacting with children, their parents, and animals at Spring Fest!

JULY DCM: BEACH BOOMBA! Hey Goldfish! BEACH BOOMBA is coming up, and I HIGHLY recommend for you to go because it is so fun! I remember going to Beach Boomba last year, and it was my first time going. Although I was dying at the end of the day because of my sunburns and lack of energy, I enjoyed it so much! I met so many new people, and now, a few of them are now my closest friends, who I can talk to all the time about anything. SO, PLEASE GO because the more the MERRIER (:

June recognition

CLUB OF THE MONTH: Beckman High School!

"Beckman has been communicating so well with everyone! The DLT appreciates Beckman's efforts to help their home club grow and thrive! They have lots of potential, and I sincerely believe that anyone can grow as long as they try, just like Beckman High School!"

Vy Vu (Division News/Tech Editor)

OFFICER OF THE MONTH: Kelly Pham from Villa Park!

"Continuous efforts and ability to stay on top of everything. She is one of the most dedicated Key Club members I know who is able to keep a professional air with those around her but still joke around and enjoy her time spent with fellow members. Kelly Pham has amazing communication skills as well; her hardworking nature and empathetic view allow her to discuss any concerns or ideas she has. Overall, she exudes the Key Club spirit as an amazing Division Secretary AND one of Villa Park’s amazing Vice-Presidents."

Isabelle Tran (President of Villa Park)

MEMBER OF THE MONTH: Elly Efe from OCSA!

"Despite not being the most active club last year, Elly attended all the events our past president had publicized, more than any other member. Elly continues to participate and communicate with the rest of the board members and has been an amazing secretary. She has really taken the time to read all of the texts I've been sending and replies immediately when needed."
