GIRLS WATER POLO

We got a head start on our U13 basketball season, with pre-season training sessions during our P.E lessons and during lunchtimes and after school. During our training sessions, we mostly worked on basic drills and plays we would run on the court, on the sideline and on the baseline. Term 3 began, and so did the DASSA league. The A’s started their season with a bang, winning their first game, but unfortunately the B’s lost. Next game, it was down to the wire for the A’s, and we lost 34-32, but we didn’t let it get to our heads, as we knew we were the better team. And we bounced back, winning our next game 63-19! It was the final game of the league, and we needed to win this to qualify for the knockout, and we did, 35-28.

Onto the semi-finals of the knockout stage, we are up against GEMS Wellington Silicon Oasis, and we took a comfortable win, 35-18. We advanced to the finals, and it took place at Safa Community School. We were up against the JESS A team. It was a close game, with the score being in both teams favours throughout it, however near the end we took a comfortable 5 point lead and kept it until the end, winning 27-22.

I would like to that Mr Riordan for his fantastic coaching, he really helped us enhance our basketball skills, and our teamwork. He made this basketball season extremely fun, and unforgettable. Also, he let me take the trophy back which was cool.
