ROUNDERS
U15 Rounders was a very popular sport this year, almost 40 girls turned up for trials. The DC U15B Rounders Team had an incredible journey in the DASSA league, dominating right from the start and going on to win all our matches! We inspired each other during training, supported each other during our matches and all became amazing teammates.
Highlights of the season included winning our first match against our DC U15A team (10.5-9). It was very close after the first innings; however, our second innings was incredible. Millie got some amazing catches and Syona used her back hand to score many full rounders. Liv also batted extremely well gaining more convincing rounders. This result inspired us all, boosted our confidence and proved that nothing was impossible. Our second match against Repton Al Barsha started slowly, but with excellent bowling by Naduli and Niki, plus some amazing fielding by Sophie and Ale, we showed great resilience and won the game 12.5 –5.0 points.
Our final league match was against DIA, and we were so proud of the whole teams’ performance including Ashleigh’s incredible batting and Ada’s great accuracy with throwing the ball to fourth base. Another great win! Congratulationsto all our team on a very successful rounders season.
Finally, we would like to thank both Mrs Bland and Ms Jones, for always helping us to improve in all aspects of the game. We were constantly pushed to do our best, to work hard as a team and to have fun. Here’s to the 2023-2024 season!!

U13's MAKE A SPLASH IN WATER POLO!
The U13 A team had a year to remember during the DASSA Water Polo season. Despite this being the first year for many in the pool, the squad achieved a strong performance across the six matches they played against other local schools. Highlights of the season included major wins against Safa Community School and JESS Arabian Ranches and close but respectable defeats against DESC and also versus JESS, where the team lost by a single goal. The stand-out match against JESS, saw the team overcome hurdles such as a shallow pool, and a very competitive opening, before DC pulled away to sink Ranches 9-2. While the season ended with 3 wins and 3 defeats, the total of 27 goals for and 15 against showed DC’s dominant performance in key fixtures. In every fixture, each of the 13-player squad, performed outstandingly and every player tried their hardest and represented DC with pride. The team will now be practicing in the pool during the summer to build on this success and prepare for what will be a hotly contested season for Under 15s.

Wow, what a season! Almost a perfect one. It has been great to see our team improve, starting with the basics such as passing and shooting. The squad has rapidly expanded its knowledge of the rules and the game. Our first fixture was a close one, losing for the first two quarters, levelling in the third, and just snatching the win in the last quarter, making it 9-7 to DC. That was just the start, and as our confidence grew, we overcame almost all our opponents, with only one narrow defeat of 5-4. Two of our highlight performances were a 12-4 victory and an endof-season final game 12-1 win. This was enough to win the league on points difference. Well done, boys! What a great season it has been. We hope next season is as fruitful as we become the U13 A team in Year 8.
