Term 3 has also seen our World School Games squads and Australia Tour squads in training. Preparation for both events has gone really well with regular competition against the best in Dubai coupled with in house early mornings, lunchtimes and after school practices. Thank you to Allstars for the regular Thursday night competition. We are taking two teams to the World School Games, our U13's and also our U14's who are playing in the U15 section - both sets of players are extremely excited to challenge the UK schools and to experience an international tournament. World School Games are based at Loughborough University, UK, arguably one of the best sporting universities in the world and the girls are looking forward to being in an elite sporting environment for the five days of the competition (21st-26th June). Our Australia tour takes in Sydney, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast over 17 days, playing 7 competitive fixtures as well as specialist training with some of Australia's best. The girls are also looking forward to the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, learning to surf, visiting Taronga and Australia Zoo, Oz Jet Boating as well as seeing the sights of Sydney and Brisbane - an awesome jam packed sporting tour! The WSG and Australia Dress Presentation was a special occasion with parents and friends witnessing the celebration of accepting the DC dress and all that comes with it; the responsibility, the pride, the history. We are indebted to Proventeq, Huriya Private and Happy Travel for sponsoring DC Netball.

A final congratulations to each and every one of our 300+ DC netballers for an absolutely amazing year, ranging from U12 to U18, the netballing family we have created with players, parents, coaches, sponsors, supporters is very special and as Director of Netball I am extremely grateful to everyone for supporting the DC Netball programme with such energy and enthusiasm. Enjoy the summer break when it arrives and see you at pre-season to begin the fun all over again! Hasta luego!

I am proud to say on behalf of the U13 rounders team that the season this year was extremely successful. With great communication and collaboration, we managed to be unbeaten. This season was filled with none other than hard work, laughs and great sportsmanship. We finished in the most ideal position, B team followed shortly behind A team. Throughout this season, these athletes have shown us what true dedication and teamwork can achieve. I still remember our first match, an amazing win against Emirates International School. Although we won by a lot, we still needed to fix our catching. That Tuesday, we worked on catching a high ball in the air for the whole session. The next game against GEMS Al Barsha National School, Paula caught an amazing catch exactly how we practiced! I still remember how she had the biggest grin on her face and Miss Kgasi looked so proud. These moments continued throughout the season: Izzy’s amazing catch, Riana’s consistent rounders. Our last match was against our U13B where our whole team just kept scoring rounders. Throughout the whole season I was never a strong batter, but that Tuesday, Miss Kgasi taught me a new way of hitting the ball with my backhand. The following Monday for the match against U13B, I hit the ball really far and I was so happy and so was Miss Kgasi.

The golden bat winner for the most rounders scored this season is awarded to, Charlotte T! Well done.

Thank you to Miss Kgasi, Miss Bland, and Miss Jones, for guiding us to an unforgettable season.
