GIRLS BASKETBALL

This season has just been phenomenal, with the energy from everyone ablaze. Both teams have significantly improved since the beginning of the season, and I am sure that everyone thinks the same. The whole team has developed a newfound trust and friendship in one another which I believe is one of the key things in any sport. The A and B team have both gone through their own ups and downs but have fought through every single one. With some improvements that could be made, the energy from both sides was immense.

Whether we have won or not, every single player has left the matches with a smile on their face and come back to the next match with the same energy. With nail-biting matches and incredibly close losses, everyone has shown grit and determination on and off the court.

Next year, I am sure that our free-throws and decision-making skills will improve with time and practice, however our lay-ups and technique will just keep on getting better and better than it already is. At the outset, everyone was a stranger to each other, with no knowledge of how to cooperate with each other’s unique skills, but now every single person under the title ‘DC U12 Basketball Girls’ could not be closer.

On behalf of the team, I would like to thank Miss Hember for all her hard work and dedication to making this season happen, she deserves every single bit of gratitude from us. I am proud to be the captain of such an amazing and dedicated group of girls who have certainly outdone themselves. Next year, we will definitely end with a trophy in our hands.
