Fundraising for Yours & One Other

Southwest Chapter Professionals at the SWC Day of Giving

Over the course of the past three months, the North Florida PGA has hosted events benefiting its charitable affiliate, Yours & One Other. Yours & One Other believes in the power of our Military programs that enhance the physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being of current and former members of the military. Yours & One Other believes in the power of play and the power of golf, and we trust its potential to enhance and transform lives at every age. Through Yours & One Other, we are able to serve people through various programs, most notably PGA HOPE, which provides adaptive training to military Veterans in Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota and Citrus County. On January 31st, the West Central Chapter hosted a Pro-Am at Avila Golf & Country Club in Tampa. Twenty-six teams, consisting of one Professional and three Amateurs competed in the event. The team consisting of Jeffrey Leonard (The Club at Cheval), Chris Gibson, Michael Castelli and John Leto were victorious after finishing at -9 (133). A special dinner capped off the event with a feature presentation about the programs Yours & One Other provides. The event raised nearly $10,000! And if the money raised wasn’t enough, Josh Ellsworth made an ace on the fifth hole! On March 7th, Southwest Chapter Professionals came together to raise 46

money for various organizations, including Yours & One Other, during the SWC Day of Giving at TPC Prestancia. The team of Legacy Golf Club came out on top, finishing at -19 (53). For weeks leading up to the event, golf clubs in the Southwest region raced to raise funds, sparking a friendly competition as to which club can raise the most money! Some of the clubs that participated in fundraising included: Longboat Key Club, The Founders Golf Club, Pelican

Pointe, Legacy Golf Club, Tara Golf & Country Club and Stoneybrook Golf & Country Club. Southwest Chapter Members worked tirelessly to raise money and spread the word about the significance of their Day of Giving. Overall, the event raised $48,500! The next fundraising event for Yours & One Other will take place on April 18th at Hidden Hills Golf Club. It is the second consecutive year that the organization will be a part of the 1010-XL Sports Radio Googan Open.
