Thinking about it, it is a question of legitimising overalls so as to mark the passage from humble, modest, modest clothing, to outfits that should be proudly shown, the same way machines of an old textile company can become works of art inside the most important exhibition on the planet. Chanel could not miss this occasion, in addition to having organised an exclusive party attended by international stars such as the Scottish actress Tilda Swinton, brought together in Venice the ten winners of the Chanel Next Prize cultural award, active in the field of design, cinema, theater and visual arts. Again, an excellent opportunity to show off in Venice and consolidate one’s image. Fashion, therefore, increasingly looks to the world of art both as a source of inspiration and as a promotional showcase. Among the many events in Venice, a special mention goes to Valentino, main sponsor of the beautiful Italian Pavilion, entitled History of the Night and Destiny of the Comets, which for the first time presents only one artist: Gian Maria Tosatti.
