The name is Flores & Pine. Who is Flores? Flores LaDue, ‘First Lady of the Calgary Stampede’, was the wife of Calgary Stampede founder Guy Weadick. An accomplished roper and performer, Flores’ vaudeville performances took her all over the world, including under the bright lights of the Broadway stage. Flores then settled in Alberta in 1912 and helped her husband jumpstart the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, later retiring as the undefeated World Champion Lady Fancy Roper after 31 years of competing. The Calgary Stampede embodies all that is western hospitality, and this is what you can expect from Flores & Pine. Flores & Pine represents the story of Calgary, what it has been, what it is, and where it is going: people with origins around the globe, straightforward prairie simplicity and modern comforts. By developing a food and beverage concept with varied points of access that will bring locals and visitors to the site and providing a synergistic mix of offerings that complement one another through the key aspects of food, beverage, and experience.
