Editor’s letter Dear Readers,

When I feel joy and happiness, I can feel it in the pit of my stomach. It’s a slow sensation that grows, extending all the way to my fingertips and toes. This might sound bizarre but the feeling is how I imagine it feels to be a can of soda. Light and bubbly. All the weight in my head from heavy thoughts gets lifted because when I am in a moment of true joy and happiness, none of the struggles are worth even thinking about at the risk of distracting from how purely blissful a moment is. Full of sweetness but also light and airy like the carbonation. When I have these moments I do everything I can to savor them. I remember them and return to them throughout the week during times of frustration or sadness. I encourage you to really soak up how it feels for you to experience joy and happiness. Write it down after so you can remember the details and revisit them. What happens to your senses? What differences do you notice? Discovering even the most minute details can tremendously help you identify how to move towards having more experiences of joy and happiness. Furthermore, you can also look deeper into those details to better understand why those moments spark that feeling and by extension learn more about yourself.

Sending you love and light, Aria de Lima

Be content with who you are and what you have... Rejoice in the way things are... Realize there is nothing lacking... That is the sweet spot.

In the garden of life, two flowers bloom close to each other, often mistaken as one – contentment and satisfaction. These twin blossoms, though similar in fragrance, hold unique essences, blending together in the metaphysical landscape of our existence. Contentment is the perennial flower reappearing every year, deeply rooted in the soil of inner peace. It thrives in any season, uninfluenced by external conditions. Contentment thrives in a serene, lush garden that remains evergreen year round, despite the changing weather. This is contentment – a state of inner balance where one is at peace with the present, despite life's ups and downs. Satisfaction, on the other hand, is like the seasonal bloom, vibrant and colorful, flourishing when conditions are right. It’s the result of specific actions, achievements or experiences. Think of the gardener who plants seeds, nurtures them, and then basks in the beauty of the blooming flowers. Satisfaction comes from external achievements and the realization of goals. It’s the feeling of accomplishment after completing a challenging task or reaching a goal. These two flowers, contentment and satisfaction, intertwine in the metaphysical connection of our lives, often leading to a harmonious balance. Contentment offers a steady foundation, a baseline of peace

and acceptance, while satisfaction brings in moments of exhilarating joy and achievement. Together, they create a rich mosaic of emotional fulfillment. The relationship between contentment and satisfaction is intricate indeed. One might wonder, can we be content without being satisfied? Or vice versa? The truth is, these states often influence each other. A deep sense of contentment can make the pursuit of satisfaction more meaningful. When we’re content, we pursue goals not out of a sense of lack or desperation - but from a place of wholeness and fulfillment. Living day-to-day life from this perspective enriches our journey towards satisfaction, making it less about filling a void and more

about enhancing our already peaceful existence. Conversely, moments of satisfaction can lead to greater contentment. Every achievement and fulfilled goal waters the soil of our inner garden, making it more fertile for contentment to grow. When we experience the joy of achievement, we nurture our inner peace, reinforcing the feeling that life is, indeed, fulfilling. This balance is very delicate, however. Overemphasis on satisfaction (constantly chasing achievements and external validations) can lead to neglecting the ever-present flower of contentment. Similarly, excessive focus on contentment, to the exclusion of pursuing goals, can make life stagnant, lacking the vibrant colours of satisfaction. In essence, the metaphysical connection between contentment and satisfaction is akin to a gardener tending to both perennial and seasonal flowers. The gardener appreciates the evergreen beauty of contentment while also enjoying the seasonal splendors of satisfaction. This balance leads to a garden that is both peaceful and vibrant, a reflection of a life well-lived. Understanding and nurturing both contentment and satisfaction is essential for a harmonious life. By recognizing their unique qualities and interconnectedness, we can create a beautiful garden within ourselves – one that flourishes with peace, joy and fulfillment.

December Reading with Energi Empress Priya Card: Our Lady of Love As this year comes to a close, The Council of Light and Energy (The COLE) offers the lyric of Annie Lennox, “put a little love in your heart”. They are observing that many of you are operating from a place of fear and lack. For some of you, the message is surrounding heart break. They see you experiencing heartbreak or fear of love after heartbreak. They wish to remind you that heartbreak is simply your heart breaking open rather than in half as we are so often taught. Each time you experience heartbreak, your heart breaks open a little or a lot more, allowing love in. You are encouraged to let go of the fear of vulnerability taking up space in your heart and allow yourself to allow love back in. For some of you, the message is to see the situation with love in heart. The COLE is observing some of you perceiving and receiving a situation from a place of negative emotion. This is creating a space where the energies or parties involved must reflect that same energy back to you. You can still come from a place of love without having to love the situation or a person’s behaviour. For some of you, The COLE has observed that you are in the energy of war. This can come from observing situations outside of yourself, or from being at war within yourself. Regardless of where it is originating from, it is impacting the other. If it’s coming from outside of you, it’s impacting you within. If it’s coming from within you, it impacts the world outside of you. You are encouraged to invoke peace within you and are reminded that one of the easiest ways to find peace is through love. As many of you begin your yearly reviews, you are encouraged to put a little love in your heart before doing so. Look at this past year with kindness and love and allow those energies to ring on into the New Year. The Art of Contentment By Andrea Sipcic I never understood this “being satisfied and content” idea and what it really meant. I thought it was about settling. I thought it meant, forget about your desires and accept what you have as all you can have and don’t be greedy or selfish. I started to really question things when I would observe others that had less (materialistically speaking) and/or were from third world countries and were clearly way happier than me. I asked myself for the longest time, “how could these people, who ‘pretty much have nothing’, not even what I would consider basic, be so content and happy?” They didn’t have the money, the stuff, the house, career, sometimes even the partner. They didn’t even seem to be bothered or jealous of others around them that had so much more. I realized it wasn’t about the stuff. They weren’t making it about what they didn’t have. They weren’t making it about all the lack of externals. They had what they had and it seemed at some point along the way, that they had made the decision to be content with their life and who they were. This would go hand in hand with acceptance. Not a reluctant, grudgy kind, but true acceptance from a place of satisfaction. When you appreciate and are content with what you do have, you open the doors for more to appreciate and be content with. I learned this through my innate desire to give (and give more) to people who truly appreciated and were content with whatever I did give them, however “big or small.” I am still learning this art; this “practice” that I amazingly see others have through choice and counting their blessings. Most importantly, I have learned that it is an inside job. When you are content and satisfied with who and what you are and you have that confidence within yourself, those externals really don’t matter as much; you can have less or more stuff…it’s all good.
