Mel Blanks is from Wilmington, NC where she first developed a deep love of cooking from her Mother, Grandmother and other cooks in the family. She is the third of six siblings and a doting mother to her fifteen-year old daughter. Mel spent years hanging around in the kitchen, watching and learning different techniques as a young child. She has since honed in on those skills to develop a Catering and Event Planning business. Her specialties include Southern Cuisine, Seafood and Homemade Desserts. Her cooking abilities although learned from her beloved Mother, Grandmother and Aunts shine through from her heart. She exemplifies the best in what she does with every dish and dessert that she prepares.
