Fun, Flea, Food, Music @ Sunday Soul Sante The city’s 7th edition of Sunday Soul Sante is happened recently on the 17th of November. This Soul Sante witnessed a host of pop-up stalls that celebrate the meeting point of fashion and art, décor, food and a line-up of exciting performances by artists. It featured over 250+ pop-stalls for artists and craftsmen out of which, five stalls were given, free of cost, to NGO’s. Over a Cappuccino with
MOURYA BODA A chairperson, managing director and full time mother and wife, Mourya Boda sat down with us and talked about her achievements, journey and how she prioritises family above all amidst massive success! A true woman in action, empowering every other woman out there. What is a typical day like in your life? My mornings are like a rush hour! The day starts with an hour of work out that I prefer to do in the morning as I don’t find time for it during the rest of the day. This is followed by rushing to send my son to school. I, then, organize my things at home, finish off any pending work. But before heading out for work I always do my Pooja and only then leave. What does it take to be successful in the field you excel in? A lot of strategic implementations have to be taken based on the market changes. Stabilising and strengthening the product with new innovations and adding new vaccines into the basket. This of course if followed by a lot of hardwork and dedication. How did FICCI happen? When I joined my office we were associated with FICCI and I got to know that there is a wing called FLO. I went ahead and joined this wing and headed as chairperson for the YFLO chapter. It was a wonderful experience altogether. How do you manage work and personal life? Managing work and personal life is always a tough job there is no mantra for it. Since childhood, I have always seen my father manage his time extremely. So yes, this is an art I learnt from him. My family has also been ever supporting. Most importantly my son has always been a cooperative kid which made it a bit easier for me. 22 DECEMBER, 2019 TULIP
Tell us something about your usual day at work. Hectic! My usual day at work is very busy and time just flies. Weekdays are packed with my meetings lined up. These are either marketing or finance or product development meetings. Then on a regular basis there are also visits to my factory to review our production and expansion works. Despite being chaotic, I love every bit of my job. Tell us about a funny incident that happened with you recently. This is an incident from one of our vacations in Greece. My son and I were shopping at a store and another shopper passing by reeted us saying- “How do you brother-sister duo like the shopping in Greece?” My son was so shocked listening to this that he couldn’t react for a second. Later we broke into a fit of laughter. We also told the other shopper that he was actually my son, not brother. He was quite shocked too.

What is the proudest moment in your career? My company has become one of the largest BSL 3 FMD manufacturing companies in the south East Asia. This indeed is a very proud moment for me. The entire journey from a single Veterinary product to one of the largest Vaccine Company is a proud journey of my career.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? I see our company as a one stop solution for all the Veterinary Health needs, from Vaccines to Medicines to feeding supplements. We also plan to expand ourselves into Human vaccines in the long run. Personally, I see myself growing as a wife and mother and excelling in both things. What do you do in your free time when you are not working? I always make sure prioritise my family during my free time. I spend most of my time with my son. Sometimes, I also meet friends over a cup of coffee for some girl time.

If you’d ask me, I’ll go anywhere as long as I’m served good food, and what’s better than a great barbecue served piping hot? People are lying if they say they don’t like barbecued food! It is the signature food for all foodies out there, regardless of the calories associated with it. The very sight of the slightly golden brown fish and perfectly marinated chicken, on the skewers, getting perfectly charred is enough to make your mouth water. A lesser known but amazing option is this place in Hyderabad which serves one of the most delicious and soul satisfying barbecue. ‘Paet bhar jayega par neeyat nahi” holds true here as their food will leave you wanting for more. Right from mutton kebabs to seafood, this restaurant has everything you’d want to eat. Their desserts option is endless and a favourite. Sahib’s Barbecue
Ohri’s theme based restaurant’s are always a crowd puller and Sahib’s barbecue is no different. Sufiyana singers at the back, belting out amazing melodies and the smoky smell of the barbeque all around, makes for an enchanting experience. It serves complete hyderabadi cuisine with a little Awadhi added in too. The dishes worth relishing is seekh kebab and shikampur. One of the oldest fine dining restaurants in the city, Kabab-E-Bahar is known for its Hyderabadi food and North Indian kababs. The restaurant at Taj Banjara, which is open only in the evenings, is located next to the lake and boasts of an open kitchen. The old lanterns and the stone flooring add to the ambience of the place. Among the starters, the Hyderabadi ‘Tala Hua Gosht’ and ‘Pathar Ke Gosht’ cooked on a stone are dishes that they are known for. The vegetarian kababs are good too, especially the ‘Kumbh Akhrot ki Tikki’ and the corn dish ‘Tilani Seekh’. For main courses, it is advisable to stick to the local ‘Dum ki Nalli’, ‘Hyderabadi Keema Mutter’ and ‘Kachi Dum ke Biryani’. ‘Safed Double ka Meetha’ an interesting variant of the locally popular dessert is the delicacy to end the meal with. The terrace barbeque in the newly opened branch in mehdipatnam, in a pleasant greenery-clad ambience, has customized grilling tables with the semi-grilled fish, chicken and lamb skewers brought to you, with basting brush, lemon juice, etc kept handy. The Murgh Malai Kebab and Mumtaz Kebabs are outstanding and so are the Grilled Zafrani Fish and Chilli Grilled Prawns, while the vegetarians could gorge on the Tandoor Pineapple and the crisply Grilled Potato in their Jackets, besides Paneer Tikka etc. There is a buffet spread, comprising of the mandatory Mutton and Vegetable Biryani, hunky-dory Indian dishes like Paneer Korma, Kaali Dal etc, and a couple of Chinese dishes, of the Singapore Noodles and Vegetables in Hot Garlic Sauce, kind. Desserts are a mix of Kaddu Ka Kheer, Khoobani ka Meetha, Gajar Ka Halwa and ice cream. The indoor fine-dining restaurant a floor below, has a plush ambience, and has pretty much the same menu, served at the other two outlets, in Banjara Hills and Abids. Barcelos
Barcelos is famous for its flame grilled Peri Peri menu and has carved a niche for itself by introducing to the discerning foodies their own brand of innovation. The grilled chicken is the signature and definitely the most amazing dish. Begin your meal with a chicken platter which includes drumsticks, thigh, liver and some rolls. Veg Espetada, one of the popular dishes is made of grilled cottage cheese, pineapples and peppers marinated. The stuffed potatoes served with it were full of flavours. The best part is the periperi sauce. You also have a range of Lebanese dips and sauces to indulge in at the start of the meal, and the Arabic mezze platter also finds place on the Barcelos menu. The trick though is to go easy on appetisers and save your appetite for the main course. This place is highly recommended if you love chicken. The Indi Grill
The menu for Indi Grill unlike other buffets, changes once every fortnight instead of the usual daily changes which serves as a two edged sword as though the diners get to enjoy their favourite dishes for a longer period of time, the regulars might get bored with the same old and move on to another place. The menu on a regular basis provides an eclectic array of appetizers both for vegetarians as well as non vegetarians along with North Indian style chaats, tawa items, mains and of course desserts. Tell us something about yourself that no one else knows. I’m an early morning person and not a night owl! How is a typical day like in Raashi Khanna’s life? I mostly work all day. I wake up at around 6:00 am, workout and have my breakfast. I dress up and reach the set by 8.30-9.00 am. We shoot almost all day. Sometimes it winds up at 6.00 pm, most days it extends for longer periods. Post my shoot, I always make it a point to hit the gym until around 8.30 pm. I head home, have my dinner and crash. It’s quite a regular lifestyle but that’s how it is. I don’t usually have time for anything else. What’s next in terms of work? I have three releases coming up, and that’s about it for now. I’ve also been looking at certain projects, that will take some time. I will let you know about them as soon as there are confirmations. What would you like to tell people romantically interested in you? I would want them to TELL me that they are interested in me, because I don’t know if anybody is romantically interested in me! Nobody says anything, so I think I would love for someone to just come and convey this! My reaction to that would depend on who the person is. If I like them then obviously, I would be interested. We have heard that you and Vani shared a room before making your debuts into movies. Do you both still share the same bond? Although we’ve shifted , our bond has strengthened even more. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, they say. It’s true. We always find time for each other. When I’m not busy shooting and Vani has a break from work, we make sure we catch up. So yes, the bond has strengthened. She was a friend before but now she’s family. Coming from a non-filmy background, how did you decide to become an actress? What was your motivational force? I’ve said this a lot before, but I wanted to be an IAS officer, I was also studying to be one. I had no plans whatsoever to be an actor, and so I think I was just destined to be one. Once I started working, it truly became my passion. I think it was always meant to happen. It was a revelation for me too. But now that I’m an actor, I’m really happy and there’s no place I’d rather be! What kind of roles would you like to pick in your upcoming movies? Is there any actor that you look forward to working with? There are just so many roles I have not done and so many actors I have not worked with, the list is very long. In terms of work, you can’t pick what you want to do but I just hope that whatever I do next is different from what I have done before. Tell us about a rumor you heard about yourself and were surprised. I think rumors are going around all the time. So I don’t think I can pick one and be surprised. I think I’ve stopped giving attention to rumors.

The Triumph Rocket III is the largest production motorcycle from the iconic British bike maker. Launched for the global markets in late 2004, it was brought to the Indian market in its latest avatar late last year as a part of Triumph’s presence in India. The Rocket III is named after the BSA Rocket 3 which in turn was also called the Triumph Trident. The Rocket III’s most noticeable feature is its massive size. The rider sits behind most of the engine into a seat that sinks low into the overall design. There is decent amounts of chrome all over including the twin pod instrument gauge as well as the 3X1 dual exhaust pipes to give the bike a premium feel. Marjaavaan Directed by Milap Zaveri Marjaavan is a Bollywood action-drama film starring Raghu (Siddharth Malhotra) who dons the role of a smart guy who gives us lots of action moments. Siddharth’s love interest features Tara Sutaria who is a mute and deaf girl while Rakul Preet Singh can be seen in the role of a bar dancer. His beloved love story comes to a complete halt when a dwarf-sized villain (Riteish Deshmukh) steps in. What happens next is how Siddharth’s character fights for his love. That is pretty much all that is served in this film, with a Romance and Action thrown in. The film reads like a list of the worst of 80’s clichés. With performances of Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet nearly negligent and Riteish Deshmukh’s and Siddharth Malhotra’s performance failing to make a mark, the movie is high on romance and action but lacks in logic.
Last Christmas Directed by Paul Feig Emilia Clarke plays Kate, a wannabe singer who has a terrible day job working in a Christmas store. Kate has a number of private problems, including a tricky relationship with her Croatian mum, played by Thompson. Then she meets dishy but enigmatic Tom, played by Henry Golding and her life seems as if it is about to change. The movie has a lot of heart and a message that will make sure that you return back with a smile and two teary eyes. With good acting performances, an unexpected twist and warmth and love, this rom com is surely going to steal your heart.
Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL Directed by G. Nageswara Reddy Tenali (Sundeep Kishan) is a small-time lawyer who is on the lookout for a big case so that he can settle down in life. As time passes, he falls in love with another lawyer (Hansika) which is not accepted by her dad (Murali). Just when Tenali is all set to teach his lover’s dad a lesson, he comes to know a shocking truth about him which involves an industrialist Lakshmi (Vara Lakshmi). The movie posses many questions such as, what is the truth? Who is Vara Lakshmi? How is she connected to the so-called criminal setup? To know the answers, head to watch the film on the big screen. The movie is pretty interesting where the actors have given good performances. The songs in the first half were pretty good and the twists are also impressive. The film is an old school slapstick comedy aimed at the masses. In the second half, things get bogged down, what comes now is a silly comedy, lack of relatable drama and much logic-less scenes. Overall, the movie is a comedy caper aimed at the target audience of single screens.
