Truffle tower is a quirky; contemporary, garden house cafe which is basically the ground floor of a house turned into a cafe. With garden green coloured sofas, wooden chairs and round jute swings, their decor is minimalistic but thoughtfully done for a cozy ambience. The rope wires hanging around, dim yellow lights, potted plants and the art gallery inspired wall space only add to its aesthetic beauty. To top it all, it’s pet friendly too! Truffle tower offers European and Continental cuisines. Most of their ingredients are imported from abroad and no wonder, gives all the dishes an authentic flavour. Their food has authentic flavours and makes you want more after finishing each dish. The Kodi drumstick chicken, grilled prawn skewers and Schezwan noodles are a must try. Their Alfredo Pasta and Tawa fish fry are very well cooked and just melt into your mouth. All in all, beyond Flavours is a perfect blend of bang on food and ambience. Feu Dessert Bar & Culinary Studio A perfect Patisserie and café for an enchanting dessert experience. Feu has the most exquisite dessert bar along with a spacious culinary studio that is on its way to make the city a spot for kitty parties, high tea events, workshops, birthdays, baking sessions and so much more. A very Parisian air to the café, with wall full of flowers, wooden French windows and teal colored details. Shilpa Datla, the founder gave us an insight into everything about Feu. Desserts like Tiramisu, Ispahan, and Éclairs are the signature ones available at Feu. Our picks for a very perfect dessert would be the Ispahan: their signature, made with raspberry, rose and lychee along with its rich almond cake base! It is feather light and mousy in texture. The sweet is just right for your taste buds. If you are looking for something in a “very berry” range then you can go for the Strawberry Velour, dig in deep to get hold of the amazing strawberry flavour in between the piece of delight. Feu will change your perception about éclairs, Pistachio and Cherry is something that should be on your list when you are at Feu, very subtle flavors of Pistachio and raspberry towards the end. It is topped with a striking green icing and garnished with pistachios! They also have flavors like Vanilla, Chocolate and Fruit for the ones who like them, just like they like them. Pinacolada Tart will take you back to the beach, it is literally like sipping one, with a soft coconut icing, pineapples and a crunchy base. One of the most tasty desserts you could imagine! Balance out your sweet tooth with some coffee, we loved the Blueberry Cold Coffee, layers of cream, coffee and a kick of blueberry to keep you sipping for more. They also have the mint coffee which is due until the next visit! They have an array of in-house confectionary like artisan breads, granolas, chocolates which they are soon launching. Everything at Feu is made in-house and authentically from their own kitchen. Lots of other dishes like Pastas, croissants, smoothie bowls and more are planned for the savoury line for the café. Soon they will have a Live Dessert counter where you can see how your favourite dessert is made and you can gobble them, fresh off the table. We can’t wait to go back and spend hours of some cosy coffee and dessert kinda European evenings here! Aruna Arcade, Road no. 1 Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. A compilation of all things we are obsessing over this month

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

As her 16th birthday nears, Sabrina must choose between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina reimagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. This adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature -half-witch, half-mortal - while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit. The series was originally conceived as a companion series to Riverdale when it was in development. This series that has taken our heart (and time) is sure to fascinate you as well! Watch now on: www.netflix.com

Finjaan’s Special Tea

Finjaan known as the ‘King of Teas’ in Hyderabad, is the go to place for Chai lovers! They have around 36 varieties of teas, few of them being the Darjeeling Oolong, Black Enigma, Hyson green, Jasmine Pearl, White Peony etc. Out of these, our personal favourites are the Herbal Relief and Chinese Giseng Oolong teas. The Herbal Relief Tea is a wonderful infusion drink that contains Chamomile flowers, Cinnamon Bark Marie gold, ginger and Basil. It is such a gentle and calming nervine blend that it takes away your entire days’ stress. Our other addiction, the Chinese Ginseng Oolong is a flavour that Emperors enjoyed. It not only tastes amazing but also helps combat type 2 Diabetes. Location : Banjara Hills, Imam Khomeni Road. Contact : 040 - 24600777

Afia’s Organic Coffee Scrub This product is one of our favorites! It is an aromatic coffee scrub with the goodness of organic coffee, organic jojuba, almond and coconut oil along with some organic brown sugar. The scrub is so effective that you can see the gorgeous glow on your face just after one use. Afia’s scrub also helps fight premature aging, minimizes fine lines and reduces dark circles. It exfoliates the skin by removing residual dirt and increases the blood flow, reducing the appearance of cellulite. Buy from: afia.qavi @ Instagram.

Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

There’s no other town in the world that I am fond of, than the quaint, charming, fairytale-like town of Cesky Krumlov in southern Bohemia. It’s as if you have stepped into a time warp – small cobblestone roads, bridges every which way you look, and no, there’s no McDonalds! It’s a great short day trip from Prague if you find yourself there but for the best experience, visit Krumlov in the summer season and raft down the Vltavy River.

White is the new black. And Hyderabadi’s really do know how to rock a party look in white. Sensation Rise has surpassed its standard experiences since the last time and is setting unparalleled benchmarks with every passing event. Well, we’d say this happens only in Hyderabad.

Shears And Brushes To pursue her dream of becoming a makeup artist and hairstylist Pritika Kapoor left her job as software Engineer & established Shears & Brushes Studio. She was so driven by her passion that she got certified from the prestigious institutes in the Country – L’Oréal Professional India and MUD Academy India. She was working as a freelancer for 4 years before she established Shears & Brushes in the years 2017. Today she works with brides, fashion houses, celebrities and loves to do artistic makeup. How did you get passionate about makeup, what do you love the most about being a makeup artist? Your dreams won’t let you sleep! I remember working 13hrs a day for 7 days a week without feeling exhausted. Where do you think energy like that comes from? Passion! I was always passionate about make up, I never said no to any opportunity that came my way. My mom was a makeup artist in her time and that is in my genes, like I was born to be one. The beauty of this profession is that you have the power to help people discover a better version of themselves. You help them feel empowered and confident when all eyes are on them. Not just that, I also have the power to bring a concept or your imagination to life with my vanity. Nothing in this world can match that feeling!

with colours, so you might find my clients wearing a pop of colours on their eyes with a contrast lip shade, all blending in like a perfect masterpiece. Also, I believe that a look is incomplete without a good hairstyle, I always put additional efforts to play with different hairstyles for all my clients. One major benefit of being a professional hairstylist!

Tell us something about your signature make-up style? Flawless & skin like finish! I don’t know if there is a better phrase I can use here. Be it bold chiselled look or no make-up make-up look, your makeup must look like second skin, seamless and natural. That makes Air Brush my favourite go to technique. You can literally wear my makeup for more than 24 hours without any touch ups. I love playing

If not a makeup artist, what would you be? NOTHING! I have tasted the life of a software engineer for 5 years and it was bland! I am a makeup artist today, doing what I am good at and nothing can beat the taste of this life. It’s time I work on my dreams and give my 100% in building Shears & Bushes. I have sacrificed a lot to be here today and it all seems worth it.

Tell us five products every bride should own before she starts her journey? I have done a blog on Bridal Makeup Trousseau to which only my clients have access to. Anyhow I would like to share 5 of my favourites where every bride must invest – Facial Serum, Under Eye Cream, Lip care, Powder Foundation & Lip Stain. Rest you can work around based on your regular needs.

What are your future plans? Having worked with celebrities and influencers in town, I am keen on using my creative skills in show business, movies, runway and high fashion. There’s no settling for a person like me so, the hunt is on! However my primary goal is to expand Shears & Brushes from a single sitter studio to beyond. Your favourite muse? That’s a difficult question; the first name that pops up in my mind is Kareena Kapoor Khan. She’s someone who can pull off Chameli as good as Kalindi (Veere Di Wedding). People you look up to in the industry? Mario Dedivanovic Forever ! I love how he made contouring a household name. I am also very fond of Huda Kattan for the way she has become a brand name today. The two of them are absolutely inspiring! How do you consider yourself to be different from the rest? My approach to every task given to me sets me apart from the rest. I don’t settle for anything less than perfect, be it eyeliner or a small pin in hair it all has to be in place from the beginning to the end of an event. Being a professional hair dresser also works in my favour, it gives me full control and a better understanding to my client’s needs. My job is done only when my client says “Am I really this beautiful?” To me real review is when people are awestruck looking at my client. Shahrukh Khan

A people’s person, passionate about his work, and having a Hyderabadi slang is how Shahrukh can be best described. His videos are a great pastime if you want to have a hearty, healthy laugh. With the passion of a thousand burning suns, Shahrukh did not stop at just making videos. He has gone a step ahead and made two movies, both very successful. “Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho toh poori kayenat tumhe use milane ki sazish mein lag jaati hai”, he says quoting Shahrukh Khan.

Tell us something about yourself? I’m single, so, hello ladies! I’m really passionate about making videos. I enjoy the process of writing, directing, acting, editing and everything related to it. Basically my life revolves around creating cool content on YouTube. I spend most of my time creating videos and coming up with funny ideas for my channel Hyderabad Diaries. How did you come up with the concept of Hyderabad Diaries? I always wanted to do something that clearly brought out my creative side as well as my personality. As I spent a lot of my time surfing through the Internet, I definitely was inspired by a lot of YouTubers to start my own channel. Wanting to create something very unique, I realised that there weren’t any YouTube channels 26 NOVEMBER, 2018 - TULIP

LIFESTYLE that made videos with Hyderabadi Slang. What other motivation could I need? It seemed like the perfect idea to me. So, I started it. What is the proudest moment in your career? My proudest moment was when I made my first movie. When I first started my channel, I never thought that I’d reach a point where I would confidently make a movie of my own. But it happened and happened so well that the movie was a huge hit. At this point, I am done shooting for another movie which is going to hit the theatres very soon. What do you do in your free time when you’re not working? The usual guy stuff. I play video games, listen to music, order food, disappoint my parents, switch between social media apps scrolling through my feed for hours and order more food. I also love reading the comments on my pictures from all my fans. It brings me immense pleasure to receive so much love from people who I don’t even know personally. It really boosts my self esteem and encourages me to make more videos. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? “Celebrating the 5 year anniversary of you asking me this question” - Mitch Hedberg. What does it take to be successful in the field you excel in? It definitely takes a lot of passion because you cannot afford to get bored of the stuff you do. If you are not passionate about what you do, then you cannot deliver your 100% to the audience. It also takes a lot of consistency as you cannot be inconsistent when people are waiting for your content. In fact, there’s no place for inconsistency in any field and in any walk of life.

Morning person. My mind is very fresh in the mornings. Favourite movie quote? Since I’m named after the king of Bollywood, it has to be “Senorita, aise bade bade deshon mein choti choti baatein hoti rehti hai.” Your biggest addiction? Movies- every language, every genre. Good, Better, Best What do you wanna be?

In the realest sense of the word, self image plays a huge role in today’s society. Everyone loves confidence and confidence comes from having a strong personality and a sense of carrying oneself with élan. Your physical, as well as mental appearance, in a professional as well as a personal setup contributes largely to how people see you. Some people have it easy, but most struggle with their self image. To make our work easier, we can now take the help of Image consultants. We got up close and personal with one of our finest Image consultants in the city who will take you on an elaborate ride through the ‘what’s’ and ‘how’s’ of this profession and how it has come to help thousands groom themselves according to their need. Aakanksha Kumar is a certified Image Consultant from Image Consulting Business Institute and the Center Head of ICBI, Hyderabad, taking care of Image Consulting market and requirements across Andhra and Telangana, in terms of training people to be an Image Consultant as well as servicing direct clients with their requirement around Image Concepts. She will be answering questions on how people who are looking for work life balance, a long term satisfying career and a good remuneration, can opt to be Image Consultants/ Soft Skills Trainers and also give insights on the journey of an Image Consultant.

Image consulting has taken over the market scenario today. What is this image consulting? What are the services you provide? The core work of Image Consultants is to guide and coach people to become better in order to achieve greater success. In earlier times this role was undertaken by parents, teachers and other well wishers. With increasing competition leading to survival of the fittest, the profession became a highly sought after and paid one in the last decade. Image Consulting is the New Age profession. What is your certification? Is there some professional course you had to undergo to be the best at what you do? Yes, there is a proper certification course offered by Image Consulting Business Institute co-branded with Conselle Institute of Image Management USA. The certification I have done is the same and is the most credible and sought after certification in the Image Industry and is globally recognized. How does this work? Would you consider image consulting to be something of an art form? I wouldn’t call it just an art from. Image Management is the only complete science and art of developing inner strength as well 28 NOVEMBER, 2018 - TULIP

as reflecting them on the outside, which again affects and enhances you inside. It is the overall ability to be more successful in personal, professional and social lives. People connect with us for their requirement and that’s when we do the required analysis and understand the client’s requirement and take it ahead from there. How much do you charge? Is it very expensive? If yes, how does an everyday woman/man afford your services? As a consultant, the charges are on an hourly basis ranging from 3k to 5k an hour and at times based on the package or project. As far as affordability goes, tell me, is losing opportunities in life is affordable? Messing up in relationships or having a lot of knowledge and skill butnot being able to reflect that through your image and never gaining recognition and credit, is that affordable? Affordability is never in absolute terms of money; rather it lies in the value you receive for the money you pay. And once you compare the life changing experience, it is absolutely affordable. What is the importance of an image

consultant? How does the help and consultation improve your everyday life? Image matters and there’s nothing superficial about it. You cannot need to communicate! Image communicates to self and others. We need to look like who we say we are and what we can do. That’s Image integrity! Image affects the way we think, the way we feel, the way we act or behave, and then the way others react or respond affecting the achievement of our goals and our success in life! That’s Image impact! Image matters in the home, the school, the work place, and in the community. Image Management is not only an “office thing.” That is why you require a professional to help you with these aspects and therefore today, people having

understood the importance of these aspects and are turning towards Image Consultants to help them with enhancement and transformation. How do you help in the personal development of a person? An Image Consultant takes an objective inventory of details about a client’s Image that can be improved with change. They work to bring out the best in their client, to create a positive visible improvement or transformation in client’s attitude and behavioral skills and appearance. An Image Consultant transforms the outside to reflect the inside—Image from the inside out. Sometimes it seems the Image Consultant has to work miracles to make the changes happen! We help a client as a counselor, coach, mentor to evaluate, improve, enhance, update, and/or upgrade their self-presentation—the way in which they present themselves in personal, social, and/ or professional situations. A Consultant interviews an individual client to learn about lifestyle, personal style, and Image goals. Next they evaluate or analyze the client’s wardrobe in relation to what they learned. Then they create a plan to accomplish needed changes, the goal being consistency or total harmony from head to toe. The best part of this wonderful job is watching first hand as clients achieve success never before imagined as they present themselves with style and grace, ease and confidence and are able to perform their best, in even the most stressful situations. Regardless of who or how many people an Image Consultant works with, results for the client tend to be long lasting, leading to a greater overall sense of well-being and increased level of personal success. What is the difference between an image consultant and personal stylist? A stylist is all about styling garments. When a stylist styles garments a particular customer is not in the mind. The focus is on the garment. Image Consultants have far more knowledge about styling with reference to a particular client in creating the Image the person is looking for. Stylist concept is based on HOW and WHERE they need to style whereas we understand the “WHY” of doing things. We advise clients on managing their appearance based on roles, goals, occasions, personal style, and personal characteristics of body shape, face shape, personal colors and affordability. Image Consultants also guide and train clients on grooming, body language, etiquette and soft skills. Styling is one element of Image Consulting just like carpentry, electrical, plumbing etc is one element of Interior Design.

How would you help an introvert and shy person in enhancing their confidence and body language and make them more comfortable in what they wear? Firstly, being introvert is an innate trait and I never feel it is bad or signifies under confidence. I help the person with creating a positive self esteem for him as introverts have to deal with a lot of baggage coz society looks at it as a negative behavioral trait. We help in resurrecting their inner image first and once they feel confident of themselves, it becomes very easy to transpire that confidence in their appearance and body language. They feel comfortable with their overall self and we make sure to work on their styling and body language to make them much more self assured from what they walked in, the first time. Why should we hire you? The need to hire an Image Consultant could be vast and varied. It depends on what aspect of your life you are looking to improve and if you do not improve on that, how is it impacting your relationships-personal, social and professional... your growth and success opportunities, your personal identity in your own self. On a broader level, every client comes with a different need or set of needs. A few of the segments we touch upon are: Lifestyle and Personal Styling, Wardrobe selection,Makeup and Makeover sessions, Communication and Body Language, Self care, to name a few. If a client is stubborn, how do you handle them? That’s an interesting question. Dealing with clients from all walks of life and people who have already reached a certain stage in their lives and have a lot of pre-conceived notions, can at times get tricky to handle. Here, a lot of your learning, concepts around

LIFESTYLE

image and soft skills comes in handy. We need to apply it on ourselves, and make sure the client feels completely comfortable with us. We focus on building the connection with the client first, and then guiding them through is much easier as we have already created a very credible image in the eyes of our client.

Do you conduct any seminars or personality development workshops for people to attend? Yes I do. Since right now I am the center head for ICBI, I do a lot of seminars explaining the concepts of Image and importance of creating a Brand Image. These seminars are promoted through ICBI and can be registered on Mera events. What change can we expect in ourselves once we’re groomed by you? I would like people to understand that Image consulting is not just Grooming. Image Consulting is a way of Life. In earlier days, when people used to study in gurukuls, they were supposed to learn and be skilled in 64 kalas. All our Gods like Krishna or Ganesha had mastered all these 64 kalas, and would you believe, 48 out of these are the kind of knowledge that one learns in Image Consulting. Image is a blend of your external and inner self, which helps you create a life where you look feel and perform better in any given scenario of your life-personal, social and professional. You change your Image and attitude to make it more commensurate to your roles and goals in life. You look the part you play, hence adding more credibility to your profile. Bryan Adams

In Conversation With

Legendary Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams recently lit up home-grown arenas on a five-date, greatest hits India tour, in October 2018 for his nineteenth concert tour. The gigs were lined up in support of the music veteran’s current 21 track compilation, Ultimate, which released in November last year. The tour kicked off at Ahmedabad and wrapped up in the capital New Delhi. Also included on the jaunt were festival stops in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The Ultimate Tour saw the multimillion selling recorder perform material from the fourteenth studio album, which features a mix of new tracks and enormous hits from an incredible back-catalogue. The aim of Ultimate was to condense Bryan Adams’ extensive back catalogue – 13 studio albums, 5 live albums, 5 compilation albums and over 75 singles – into a 21-track offering, guaranteed to capture the true essence of the celebrated hitmaker’s much celebrated career. The 58-year-old vegan Vancouverite who enjoys the reputation of being able to sell out arena bowls entertained the audience with universal hits like hits ‘Run To You’, ‘Can’t Stop This Thing We Started’, ‘Summer of ’69’, ‘Cuts Like A Knife’, ‘Heaven’, ‘When You’re Gone’ , ‘Cloud Number Nine’, ‘Everything I Do I Do It For You’, ‘Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman’, ’18 till I die’ as well as Ultimate Love and Please Stay. 30 NOVEMBER, 2018 - TULIP

What advice do you have for our young and budding musicians out there? Get into music because you love music, not to become famous. If your dream is fame, you have set yourself up to be disappointed.

EXCLUSIVE

If you had to define the evolution of your music style in one word, what would you say? I’d definitely say Rocking. As a musician, how do you go about writing a song? Do the lyrics come first or the composition? I’m quite straight forward, so perhaps the songs come from that. Getting the idea across in the first 30 seconds of a song has always been my approach. I store up lyrical ideas all the time, that’s really helpful while writing. Mutt Lange taught me that. I write when I’m moved to write. How do music tours have an influence on you as a traveller? Have you explored India and if not, do you intend on doing so this time? I’m visiting new cities on this tour. We have a great show for you in store, our best work to date and we spent so many months preparing for this tou, which we will keep you posted about. It’s always an adventure when I’ve been here in India. On my first trip to India, there were no cars to collect us, so Keith my guitarist and I got in a taxi from the airport. The suspension was broken in the car so we leaned over the seat to watch where we were going. Along the way we had to stop because an elephant had gone to sleep in the middle of the road. That story would not happen anywhere else in the world! (laughs) This will be our fifth tour of India, I’m not sure many artists have done that from the West. You’re a man of many talents, including photography. Who has been your favourite muse? There are so many – I suppose working on my book “Wounded – The Legacy of War” was the most memorable. I photographed around 30 severely wounded veterans from the British Armed Forces that had returned from Iraq and Afghanistan for my book and exhibition at Somerset House, London. It was a humbling experience. Does your passion for photography inspire your music? It’s usually the other way around, music inspires the photos. I like the idea of waking up every day and making something beautiful, whether it is music or photography. I like the idea of starting with nothing and at the end of the day having something really nice to look at. That’s all it comes down to. Who has been your greatest teacher? I have to give credit to Jim Vallance for that, he was the one that initially inspired me to write better songs. What are rehearsals and practice sessions usually like, for Bryan Adams? I work with other bands all the time at other concerts and hear everyone warming up and I’ve never done that. I just go out and blast! From the current lot, who’s your favourite singer? Drake, Chris Martin. What is the future of rock music? Can I quote Hunter S. Thompson? “The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side.” I think that about sums it up!

Harmann Kaur PERSONAL STYLIST TO THE STYLISH STARS

A trained Pilot, former news presenter/correspondent/ talk show host with DD news, worked on IIFA Awards and now a celebrity fashion stylist, Harmann sure is a multifaceted personality! She has carved a niche for herself and is now one of the most sought after fashion stylists. Harmann has worked with some of the top celebrities in Tollywood like Allu Arjun and Vijay Devarakonda. Let’s hear the story of her success in her own words… So a decade ago, I was training to become a commercial pilot. That life seemed very thrilling and aviation was extremely intriguing to me at that point in life. The three stripes on my epaulets and then four was ONE set goal. Unfortunately or rather fortunately things didn’t go as planned and I moved on to be a News Presenter/Talk show host with a news channel. I would present two bulletins a week and a talk show, I had plenty of time for something I was always passionate about‘Styling’. I started off doing a few assignments here and there that included regional/local brands, magazine covers, e-catalogues, hoardings etc. Never did I ever think that I would get into full fledged styling. Life has come a full 360 and I am extremely grateful that some things didn’t work out the way I once wanted them to. I started working for Sarath Shetty photography and together we did some great work. This was while I was also working for Indian International Film Academy Awards. (IIFA). It was Sarath who made me realize that I had a great potential as a stylist and needed to leave everything else behind and focus on it. He has been a great support and guide to me ever since we started working together. The biggest turning point in my styling career was the opportunity to work for Mr. Allu Arjun and I am forever grateful to my friend Sonia for introducing me to him. 38 NOVEMBER, 2018 - TULIP

All the recognition that I have received in such a short time is all thanks to him. I just got very lucky to be associated with him; I guess my stars aligned well. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing today. I will always be extremely grateful to him and owe him even when I reach Hollywood. (I am ambitious. Ha-ha!)

Now you can’t do a Ranveer Singh on a Ranbir Kapoor. Understanding their personality is a very important element even when they are playing a certain character in a movie; the style has to be in sync with the actor’s original personality. I guess nailing these things is all every stylist needs.

My forte is Men’s styling and I prefer to stick to it. I have been following international/national fashion weeks closely for years now. I know Men’s brands/designers like the back of my hands (Credit again goes to the notes Mr. Allu Arjun sat me down and gave, that’s solid precious information that people take months to gather) and I now I also understand what style works best on what body type. It’s very important to not rub one client’s style on another or your own on your client.

On the other hand Women styling comes to me very innately. I can put 100 outfits/looks together in a day.

Their comfort, taste, style, reservations should be every stylist’s priority. There are lot of inputs and ideas they have too and it’s the stylist’s responsibility to keep it exclusive.

COVER STORY

Few Styling Tips to the readers for the festive season •

Keep it simple.

Understand your style.

Don’t ever follow a set reference, what looks good on someone might not look good on you and vice versa.

Always do trials before buying an outfit.

Take a critic along while shopping.

In a short time of 6-8 months of entering Tollywood I am really proud and happy to have worked on most leading men.

Fittings are very important – shape of an outfit can make or break its look.

So many lovely people supported me to get here and I am forever grateful.

Believe in minimalism – going over the top with traditional can end up looking tacky.

Makeup and hair are very important factors to bring a look together – hire an artist, even though it gets heavy on the pocket they can make a simple outfit STAND OUT.

Go for regular hair spas and add a nice color to the hair.

Facial or micro dermas for the festive glow.

Subtle colors/mono tones.

Right accessories/shoes.

Don’t overdo jewellery. If ears are heavy keep the neck plain. If neck is heavy keep ears clean. Either rings or bangles. Don’t do both.

Men stay away from GOLD – white gold/platinum preferred.

A good manicure and pedicure for both men and women.

White/pastel nails for the ladies this season.

Hydrate – hydrate – hydrate – good for skin and hair.

RUN IN THE GYMMMMM – better for skin and hair. Feel good from within.

Styling to me is something that comes to a person naturally. You either have it or you don’t. I don’t think a professional course or internships or experimenting can make a good stylist. Also, it is very important for a stylist to dress up well, if you can’t style yourself up, you can’t style another person.

Most importantly enjoy the festive season…. Everything comes together then. TULIP - NOVEMBER, 2018 39

LIVE LOVE LIPSTICK with

Zoha Khan Presenting to you, Zoha Khan who started her career at the age of 14 as the youngest fashion trainer and groomer in Hyderabad. Daughter to the Ace Fashion Show Director, Imran Khan, she has had the opportunity to work with the best of the models, fashion designers, makeup artists, stylists from all over the country. Being in the fashion industry from an early age Zoha has now turned her passion into her profession as a makeover artist and a stylist. What inspired you to become a Makeup Artist? Makeup is an art, and like any other art every artist has their own creative process and style of doing it. According to me, when it comes to any makeup routine, it all starts with the skin. Skincare is one of the most essential parts of makeup application. I always suggest my clients and brides to follow the Cleansing, Toning & Moisturizing process on a daily basis which not only helps the skin to breathe but also brings back the PH balance to the skin. A good Moisturizer allows room for a smooth buildable coverage. After the skin is taken care of, the actual process of Makeup begins! One of the most ignored and the most important step to start makeup is by applying a Primer onto the skin. “A good Primer is the ‘Barrier’ between the Makeup & skin which helps with oil and dryness”. Next in line is the application of a good concealer to hide any blemishes or discolorations on the skin and make it look even toned and flawless. It is then followed by the foundation application routine and a loose powder or a compact powder to keep the makeup intact. The next step would be to determine the shape of the face for contouring and highlighting which helps in giving it more precision and definition. The darker tones are used to bring in more depth and the lighter shades are placed in the areas you want to bring forward. This usually can be done with either a cream based or powder based product. Next comes the blush or the bronzer which is used on the cheeks to 42 NOVEMBER, 2018 - TULIP

add more colour to the face, followed by defining and filling in the eyebrows combined with various eye makeup looks. Lips come next followed by a pop of highlighter on the cheeks to add that extra shine onto your face. Hence this way the entire look comes together. What are the most common beauty mistakes women make? The most common mistake is testing the foundation in the wrong spots leading to a mismatched foundation shade. Also, stretching the area around your eyes to make a perfect wing is an absolute disaster. I’d also say using way too many products for contouring, drawing lines on the entire brow, wrong makeup application techniques, no product knowledge, applying blush too low on the face and applying lipstick to naked lips are just a few of the other beauty mistakes women make. How to prepare dry or oily skin for foundation application? It’s extremely crucial to identify your skin type for makeup application and therefore, the skin type plays one of the key roles in choosing the right foundation! Foundations come in different forms and finishes – Liquid, sticks, matte, dewy and a particular formula may work better on some skin types than others.

People with dry skin produce less sebum (oil), making it difficult for their skin to retain moisture. So products that boost hydration are beneficial for this skin type. For dry skin type the skin needs to be prepped with a good moisturizer and a primer so that the makeup application can slide on smoothly. The pros reach out for a liquid, cream or oil foundation. It will smoothly apply over any rough areas and give luminosity to the skin. On the opposite end of the skin spectrum, those with oily skin types produce extra sebum which can leave waxiness on the surface that can appear shiny and make foundation application a little challenging. To minimize the shine we need to use mattifying primers, water based formulas, powders or mattefinish foundations.

BEAUTY

Can you tell our readers how to achieve the perfect Diwali look? Diwali is a festival that brings people together to celebrate with great excitement, joy and anticipation! This season the makeup look I would suggest to all the women out there is to go with illuminating highlighters on the cheek bones and a dewy finish foundation base to make your skin look healthy and glowy. There is no accessory better than a glowing skin between all the festivities. This can be complimented with subtle gold glitter/ metal eyeshadows with lots of mascara and a statement lip colour according to the outfit. We can ditch the kohl eyes and go for bold winged eyeliner instead! This makeup look can be worn on either a heavy outfit or a light one and it perfectly defines the feel of the festival of lights! What products can be used to keep the makeup intact from morning puja until cracker bursting time at night? A good primer and a foundation should be a staple at such events. I’d suggest a high coverage long lasting foundation such as MAC studio fix in your shade which does a great job when applied correctly. A compact powder and a makeup finishing spray from the same brand (MAC cosmetics) will be my recommendation to keep the Makeup intact for longer durations. “Being a mother is the best feeling any woman can experience. For sure, I was the happiest person on earth twice, when both of my kids were born and that’s when responsibilities came along. Visiting Thailand was a dream and going for an underwater walk made it the best trip. It is a memory my daughter Zinia will cherish always. A place in Hyderabad my children enjoy visiting, no doubt had to be the Numaish - Nampally exhibition because of all the fun games and food available at one place. They eagerly wait for it each year.” Gulzar Hassan Hudda, Homemaker and part time entrepreneur.

“From the time we found out that I was pregnant, we were happy for whoever it would be, a boy or a girl. My son was premature but with the love provided, he could settle well. And since then we began giving him the best we could- a school, play areas and lots and lots of love. Once we gave him a toy car with a remote he enjoyed playing with it, but the surprise was, and even made the other car move along with this one. He loves visiting the zoo and looking at the animals live that he had been learning all this time.” Reshma Devani, Home Maker

“How I felt? Oh there was a volcano of emotions in my heart which in real sense no mom can put in words. A holiday in Europe was the best memory for we discovered so many expressions in him that amazed us through out the tour. O’play and the toy train at the NTR gardens are his favourite spot.” She adds, “ maa ke aankhon ka Noor, dil ka Sukoon, Kahn hai itna pyara? Woh hai sirf mera raaj dulara.” Sonam Jiwani, Homemaker

“A feeling I cannot express, we were so, so happy to have him. It was so beautiful. He identifies all the family members and calls out their names, can you imagine he is just 2! I feel extremely happy. He loves visiting malls, and especially loves McDonalds, no matter where he is. Nikky Manjiyani, Runs a math academy

- By Nishat Afzal

Diwali is around the corner! Lord Rama triumphing over Ravana- the history of Diwali revokes our inner good being; to fight the wrong and let peace prevail, eradicate darkness and let the lights shine on! No festival is commemorated without the cleansing our hearts, where our loved ones reside, and our homes, where their living self breathes. Diwali is no exception. How do we want our house to look like? Living room filled with the ecstatic fragrance of lavender scented candles, with a hint of lilies from the burning incense sticks lit near the idols of the Gods, a balcony which gleams with fairy lights and makes every person passing by stare at it, railings entwined with marigolds, and perhaps a complete furniture make-over itself? A million options to choose from, but how to materialize them is the question every year during festivals. So here, we bring to you the best tips and tricks and places where you can achieve all that and so much more, enough to make your house decor move up a notch and stay an example for years to come. These are the much needed curated list of places made to cater to your lighting requirement this Diwali. What is the first and foremost thing that comes to our mind when we start decorating for Diwali? Lights, of-course! There are LEDs, paper lanterns, disco mini lights, light strips, candles and our very dear earthen diyas. Where to buy? Confusing, right? If you stay anywhere close to Banjara Hills, you’re in luck because you’ve got some really cool stores to choose from. 56 NOVEMBER, 2018 - TULIP

Brillica

Coming to the Decor, we have endless options which would definitely tangle your mind. But, we’ll break it down for you.

Manglam Handicrafts Boutique

If you love handicrafts as much as I do, do not think twice and head straight to this wonder place. You will be awestruck with every piece that the store constitutes. They have idols of Gods and Goddesses made with teakwood and sandalwood, which will reignite the devotee in you. The vast assortments of artifacts have very elaborate detailings. The delicately designed coffee tables are going to be the showstoppers of your home. Where: Road No 12, Banjara Hills Contact : 98665 02424 TULIP - NOVEMBER, 2018 57

INTERIOR Good Earth

This is a branch of the establishment Good Earth which has 7 stores each in every metropolitan city of India. This emporium consists of pieces with elaborate detailing and with a touch of regality. You can also shop for your festival clothes here as they supply those as well. Lavish lanterns, candle stands and diyas have to be their signature products. Starting from Rs. 899 to Rs. 19,200, these have unique names as well like Bagh-e-bahar lantern or Paro Candle stand. They also cater bed linen, duvets, curtains, dining needs and a range of bath and body care goods. Where: Road No 12, Banjara Hills. Contact : 040 23338000

Address Home

This is one place you should make sure to visit for your linen needs. It has recently launched an exclusive collection of bed linen and cushion covers called ‘Sauvage’ for the upcoming fall and festive season. It also features a velveteen base that will make you escape into its smoothness. The range depicts flora and fauna on its surface- from flying storks, to coat of arms with a crown, a lone gold lion, a queen bee, a sinuous viper to a tiger in the garden, and with such animal instincts on the prowl, your living spaces will be transformed overnight. The motifs and patterns carry bold imagery created with fine artisanship accented by the gold zari, silken fringes, corded flanges and crafted tassels to add to an indulgent quality towards its plush look. Make your dens, bedchambers and other living spaces roar with élan with their new variety. Where: Road No 7, Banjara Hills. Contact : 82872 63306

We also have special DIY section where you can check out the amazing décor supplies you can make along with your kids. They are going to love it, take it from me. Let’s get to work, guys! Jar candles- Before you ponder upon it, yes, I have coined this word myself. You’ll be needing scented tea lights for this that you will easily find on Amazon or Flipkart with a price of Rs. 200 for about 40-50 pieces. Those small glass jars in which we are given the mudcakes and stuff we buy are often just lying our kitchen containing mustard seeds or some random powder. Take these and gently place one tea light in each of the jars. Now, decorate the jar with a white or any other colored lace along the edges of its mouth. You can also let your kids try glass painting on them. Light these and keep on the centre table or in any corner. Bound to catch eyes! Flower rangoli- Too simple, too common, but had to be mentioned because it’s a vital thing. Let your children bring out their creative side and artistically make different designs of rangoli with flowers. Powder rangoli is too clichéd. Mosaic Lamps- For anyone who do not know, IKEA stocks a range of amazing simplistic lamps, they absolutely define my style. To make these plain and simple lamps a tad bit festive, you can decorate the lampshade with tiny colored glass pieces. Be careful while doing this. You can own the lamps for around Rs. 300 each. Floating candles- Assuming that you’re going to buy the tea lights, the extras which will be left are going to be used here. Take a large glass bowl, fill up to three quarters of it and immerse rose petals. Now, gently place the tea lights to let them float among the petals. Just too perfect! Henna candles- Heard it for the first time? You’re going to love it. Get hold of your usual plain candles and a cone of henna. Google for henna designs and start making the easiest one on the candles. You’re going to be very proud of the outcome of your work. Be it a festival or a usual day, make sure you celebrate it with peace and think about your safety. These are the times you come together as a family, work towards making the home so much better and grow as a whole.

“Today, when Diwali has become all about sounds than lights, I celebrate one that’s sweet in taste, bright all around, with a little too much of love. The real festive fever sets in when my home starts smelling of ghee and boondis. I prefer not purchasing laddus but having homemade ones prepared by my mother. The best part is absconding with hot laddus from the kitchen with my mom not coming to know. My favorite part will always be- the lights. I try and reuse last year’s cord of lights and diyas. It is not only cost-friendly but the smell of the burnt cotton and oil still remains in it, reminiscent of my childhood and how my mother taught me to light those lamps. On this day, when my entire house gets lit up (literally), it is all filled with tranquility and somehow keeps reminding that God is not present just inside a caged room but inside us. Everywhere. All the time.” Gayathri Rajput, Quality Analyst at Amazon

“I usually buy all my Diwali festive needs from General Bazaar, Secunderabad. I get all the things I need at affordable prices and without rushing to other parts of the city. The celebratory bedsheets and fabrics are always from Address Home. They are amazingly soft and I love their prints. Being in a typical Indian family, where all the kids are struggling to make a career, we’re all scattered in different parts of the world and Diwali is that day which binds us together. We gave up exploding noisy crackers and now, we only explode love that we have for each other.” Sravani Reddy, Quality Analayst at Uber. “Being a working woman, I never really had much time to go shopping for home décor and clothes, as that involves going to many stores. I choose to do online shopping which saves me a lot of time and energy. One of my favorite apps is Myntra. It has a literal huge variety of clothes, from jeans to lehengas and everything in between. As for my kid, it is going to be his first Diwali and I’ve already bought his clothes from firstcry.com I love how he looks in that cute little kurta. For the décor, I use the artificial flowers as it helps me from going around shopping for flowers every year.” Shravya Ravipati, Dentist TULIP - NOVEMBER, 2018 59

WELLNESS

Your Diabetic Queries Answered... We know you might have a ton of questions regarding Diabetes. And in this issue, you’ll get some of them answered by Dr. Amit Goel. An Endocrinologist by profession, he specialises in treating Diabetes, thyroid problems, Cushing syndrome, Polycystic ovarian Syndrome, Short Height, Pubertal and Sexual disorders. He has also published various research articles on diabetic neuropathy and several topics in Endocrinology across national and international Journals. Dr. Amit has been awarded the Medical Excellence Award 2017 by the solidarity council and is currently working at Sunshine Hospital, Gachibowli. How many types of diabetes are there? There a many types of Diabetes, the list goes up to 20 forms. The Most Common type of Diabetes in Adults is Type II Diabetes called Milletus. In Children it is the Type 1 Diabetes Milletus. The various other diabetes are Diabetes Insipidus , MODY , LADA , Fibrocalcific Pancreatic Diabetes, Secondary Diabetes etc. How is Diabetes diagnosed? Diagnosis of Diabetes is made by using a criteria laid down by the American Diabetes Association. We perform a few blood investigations like fasting plasma glucose (FPG) or HbA1C in a person who has symptoms. Some of the symptoms through which one can diagnose diabetes at home are excessive thirst, excessive hunger, frequent urination in the day or increased urination episodes at night as well. Does eating a lot of sugar cause diabetes? Yes. Our body has simple and complex carbohydrates and these in turn are both metabolized as sugar, leading blood sugar levels to fluctuate. Insulin is a hormone that in normal people without diabetes - transports glucose, or blood sugar, to cells for energy or to be stored for later use. In people with diabetes, cells are resistant to insulin; as a result of this insulin resistance, sugar accumulates in the blood. While eating sugar by itself does not cause insulin resistance, foods with sugar and fat can contribute to weight gain, thereby reducing insulin sensitivity in the body. Hence people with Diabetes can have natural occurring forms of sugar like Stevia which are a better alternative. What can people suffering from Diabetes do to keep it under control? Diabetes Control needs dedication and a strong will power as well trust within you for the treating doctor. It requires a proper diet as advised by the dietician as well following a strict exercise regimen along with a regular follow up and taking medication regularly. Nowadays, we come across kids suffering from Diabetes. Is this not an age conscious disease? Is diabetes genetic? In Kids the most common type of Diabetes is Type 1 DM which by itself is a multifactorial disease. Diabetes is not age conscious as there certain forms of Diabetes which are present at birth also. Diabetes has a genetic component but other environmental factors also contribute to its complex pathogenesis.

Is it true that being diabetic puts you at a risk of other diseases? Yes. When not taken control of properly or diagnosed late, Diabetes may eventually cause retinal damage causing blurred vision and vision loss. It may also cause damage to the nerves leading to burning sensation in the feet and after some time causing the slippers to slip from the foot and later on ulcerations. Diabetes may also damage Kidneys causing kidney failure. It affects the heart causing silent Heart attacks and also there is an increased risk of peripheral vascular disease and strokes. What are some strategies people can develop in order to avoid diabetes? It is a multilevel approach and the strategies are involved at various levels. I would suggest people to avoid having a sedentary lifestyle. Avoid consumption of Junk Food. People should maintain their weight via regular brisk walking or aerobic Exercises. Having a healthy balanced diet, avoiding Alcohol and other drugs also helps. Is diabetes reversible? Yes .It is reversible in its initial phases. Studies from worldwide and India have shown that weight loss and a low calorie and low carb diets which is advised by a trained nutrionist shall cause improved insulin secretion and reverse your diabetes. As a Diabetes specialist, what is your greatest accomplishment? My accomplishment to the field of diabetes is my area of interest in research on prevention and early detection of Diabetic neuropathy which if neglected by a patient may lead to ulcers and chronic diabetic foot and eventually causing the patient to lose his foot. I have published various research articles on diabetic neuropathy and several topics in Endocrinology across national and international Journals. I have been awarded the Medical Excellence Award 2017 by the solidarity council. EXPERT COMMENTS: Diabetes is a preventable treatable disorder so hence I request all the readers not to neglect Diabetes. If you have any symptoms of diabetes, kindly consult an Endocrinologist and get youself treated. Lead a happy life and say goodbye to all complications.

Once upon a Television... During the time when owning a radio set at home was considered a luxury, something called a Television entered our lives. While for a few it was a matter of their economic status, for the others it simply was a thing they could not live without. The Golden decade was that of traditional television viewing, at the comfort of one’s home with the entire family together. The most prominent thing about owning a television was how the arrangement of the house solely depended on the placement of the television. Every home had the same layout where the sofas and the couches were placed facing the television in the living room. Everyone in the joint family decided to watch the television together, and the story goes on. Thescenario today is not what it used to be earlier, at least not in the West. India still binds its audience with daily soaps and entertaining Television shows. However, with the dawn of Netflix, Hulu and other entertainment providers, the traditional television consumerism is on the verge of death. The main reason behind this decline is the increase in popular demand for Online streaming. Most of the websites offer a cheap price to pay and watch what the consumer likes. In case of pirated sites, it is free. All that the viewers need right now, is a device to watch the content on. Television today is merely used as a piece of hardware, that casts, connects and projects the content that pleases the viewer. In India, the case is deteriorating with respect to the youth of today. Firstly, India’s future is full of young, bright, youngsters. While television is the least of their priority, the generations to come will probably not even be aware of the golden television shows that Indian television channels once aired. All that the kids of today know are 70 NOVEMBER, 2018 - TULIP

entertainment providers like YouTube and Netflix, which also air cartoons. While there’s no harm in decreasing traditional viewership, the part that goes missing is the emotional attachment that the viewers have had in the past. It was more about the excitement of watching a movie for the first time after it hit the theatres, or watching sports where they get to see India win the world cup; all of this together. That is the factor that will go missing in future. The advent of technology is a great sign of progression and civilization, no doubt, but progress towards or away from human relations? That is a

question that needs to be answered before it is too late. Keeping “what is lost” at bay, we have a lot of great things that are happening parallelly. Currently, there is loads of quality content that is being aired on Netflix, which is slowly gaining massive popularity. It gives a golden opportunity to actors who otherwise would be sidelined for mainstream shows on television. The quality has developed due to the 5 billion mobile phone owners across the world. About 75% of the world has no time to sit in front of the television and watch shows in leisure, which is why ‘on the go’ market has experienced a rocket start, resulting in creating content for mobile phones specifically. Since everyone holds a different perspective of this issue, I got to interview a design professional and a student to look at the scenario from a different point of view. Almost everyone who has had a relationship with traditional television viewing misses the experience that it once provided. But one should be able to accept that times are subject to change and change is inevitable. It is better to look at the brighter side of the story always. With this, our tale for today on how television is a brave soldier but has to take a headshot comes to an end. “Traditional television viewing has become a thing of the past. This generation likes to control things and skip the unnecessary advertisements that are a part and parcel of traditional television. The boring soaps don’t excite us anymore and we go straight to Netflix and Amazon Prime for our daily dose of chilling. Now everyone has a laptop and a smart phone which we use for viewing not only at the comfort of our homes but also while travelling. Earlier it was the television which ruled our lives with its absolute timings, now the roles have reversed. Set top boxes can record our favorite shows which we can watch whenever possible. It has become more of a medium to view things on a bigger screen rather than to sit and enjoy with family. The fight for remote has also come to an end due plethora of screens available to us.” Sunaina, UI/UX designer

“I remember when I was a child, I used to get scolded a lot because watching TV was my favorite thing to do. I would fight with my sister for the remote and even when my friends were over, we would look for a movie to watch together on the TV. TV was our window to the world and we never wanted to turn it off. Lately, this is not the case. As a student I moved out for my higher studies. And every time I went back home, I would spend less and less time watching TV. If I wanted to watch something, I would just use one of the many streaming sites. And even my mom, who didn’t watch a lot of TV in the first place, spends a large chunk of her time watching YouTube videos. I think technology is making us less patient day by day. By giving us what we want and the liberty to utilize it anywhere, it had empowered us in many ways. But it comes with a price of course. I remember watching TV with my family and we would experience it together like a family should. But since the TV had lost its viewership to mobile and laptops, we hardly watch anything together. So, I guess, technology did it again. It brought us closer to what we want and while doing so, we lost a part of us which we didn’t even know was essential.” Ishan Sharma, Student from NIFT

MOVIES Movie Reviews

Andhadhun Andhadhun is an intelligent thriller by Sriram Raghavan. It gets you laughing through the thrill, and then finally ends up giving you an exceptional high. A murder story unlike any other with all actors role-playing on some level. Akash (Ayushman Khurana) a blind pianist, or is he? He meets Sofie (Radhika Apte), who falls in love with him for who he is, but is he? Pramod Sinha (Anil Dhawan) a now faded actor, is married to this young and beautiful lady Simi (Tabu), don’t go on the looks. A murder that Akash sees, and questioned by the police, but is saved, because he is apparently blind. A little kid who lives in the flat below Akash’s, is determined to bring the truth of the blind game out. He is successful in ruining so many things for Akash. Everybody is deceiving the other throughout the film creating questions of what ifs between the applauses and wows through the film.

First man First man’s narrative is set in the 60’s, with a deliberate quote from Kaufman’s masterpiece. Director Chazelle provides an atmosphere where Neil Armstrong finds himself caught between the two spaces. We first meet Ryan Gosling, the explorer, almost missing his plane off into space. Being a danger himself, is what his superiors believe is because he is caught between fulfilling his desire and also to bereave the loss of his daughter. He is found to be lost in space throughout even after being on earth. With an amazing empathetic performance, Foy invites us into unfolding drama. First man shakes its audience claustrophobically into space. The catastrophe hangs heavy over the proceedings leaving everyone awestruck.

Pandem Kodi 2 Lingaswamy makes the sequel of Pandem Kodi, a twelve year old release keeping the cast equal. The story revolves around Rajareddy’s (Raj Kiran’s) promise of saving the only man of the family. There’s trouble as they are Bhavani’s (Varalakshmi’s) enemy. She wants to take revenge for her husband’s death and is determined to finish them off. She is impressive throughout even as an antagonist. Balu (Vishal) who is Rajareddy’s son, is planned to be killed by the Bhavani gang during a festival in the village, 7 years after returning from US. Vishal is incredible in his action hero role with no change since twelve years. To end, it is an action film with a couple of good fights although it gets messed up in the second half.

TAROT

Scorpio

(October 22nd – November 21st) Listen to the words of your advisors and don’t be so headstrong believing you are always right. You know that a prince enchanted in a frog can only be found in a fairy tale. But horoscope says that Scorpio will not rest on laurels and hope for the arrival of a handsome prince. You will grasp an opportunity immediately as soon as you notice it. Singles may meet the one. And if married, you may decide to expand your family.

Capricorn

(December 21st – January 19th) You will be even more pleasantly surprised when you find out that the people around you also agree with your deepest opinions, which you do not say directly to everyone. If you’re single and missing a special someone in your life, remember to open your mind to new possibilities, instead of contacting people from your past. If married, you may appreciate the space and quiet time from your mate. Charitable work will bring hidden blessings from the Universe in your direction.

Pisces

(February 19th – March 21st) Pisces, 2018 is shaping up as the abundant and favourable year. A chance encounter with an attractive stranger could lead to a crush of a lifetime or a romance. Students will need to put in extra effort to get the marks they want. A sharp-tongued woman may give you a hard time. One tip, just ignore instead of reacting.

78 NOVEMBER, 2018 - TULIP

Sagittarius

(November 21st – December 21st) Aren’t, you tired of doing things for everyone, but yourself? You may find people taking advantage of your generosity and niceness this month and decide to hold back. A great time to pursue higher studies or learn a new skill, don’t stop yourself from giving into this delightful urge. Horoscope suggests that concepts such as freedom, authority or control will be more frequent on the mind of all people born under the sign of Sagittarius.

Aquarius

January 19th – February 19th) Aquarius, the cards urge you to open your mind and take a risk. A great phase is about to begin that will see you at your most magnetic and adventurous. Don’t let your fears of failure hold you back. The nature of Aquarius resembles a strong and wise bear which knows that honey is good and sweet, and that it is appropriate to rely on it today as it was thousands of years ago.

Aries

(March 21st – April 20th) Your mind is sharp and you will be able to look at things with a different kind of clarity. Use your time for research, analysis, strategizing and planning. A project you’ve been working on brings good news your way. Aries, even if your heart is a real volcano of vigour, it is often necessary to get advice from someone wise, who is familiar with your life and with the convoluted path of your destiny.

Taurus

(April 20th – May 21st) People aren’t being honest with you about something and it’s not going to be pleasant when you find out. Don’t fall for words, look at actions. You may need to sort out a mess. A good month for research and getting to the bottom of things. Some Taurus people will make their life sweeter by a double dose of Tiramisu, others will indulge in an extra glass of port wine.

Cancer

(June 21st – July 23rd) Finally, a time to put your feet up and relax. Relationships run smoothly and friends and family bring great joy and warmth into your life. Singles may find a soul mate or a friend who you can connect with mentally and emotionally. Friends and family will come forward and support you with inspiring advice. Do listen to their words of wisdom. Make a space for something new, something that has not had a chance to enter your life yet.

Virgo

(August 23rd – September 23rd) Virgo, 2018 may be a real highway to a deeper understanding. Go on and take out time for yourself. Recharge your batteries. You may have had enough of socializing and partying. A good month for learning a new hobby or skill. The horoscope predicts that the physical condition of people born under the sign of Virgo will be more fragile than before.

Gemini

(May 21st – June 21st) You can make magic by just being who you are. Believe in your talents and get out and show them. If you were planning to tie the knot soon, how does tomorrow sound? Just prepare yourself for the sudden turn of events, all favourable of course

Leo

(July 23rd – August 23rd) Watch out for unexpected obstacles and red tape. Whatever it is that’s happening, realize you need to be flexible and more accepting. Trust your gut feeling about someone or something. It could be the key to the situation you’re in. A budding romance may suddenly fizzle or an admirer may lose interest.

Libra

(September 23rd – October 22nd) This month the cards ask you to detach yourself from whatever it is that you are hankering after. Someone you thought you could trust turns out to be completely fake. Avoid borrowing or lending money in this period. And if you were planning to take a holiday, you may have to postpone your plans. Horoscope reveals that Libra people want to be among others, they want to be perfect in everyday life and not lost in a distant ocean.
