Collaborating with artistes from Australia, Mongolia, Iran, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and many other countries, Sandhya has definitely taken the dance form to new levels.

Tell us something about your usual day at work?

My usual day at work as a performing artist would include weight training, stretching for flexibility, practicing dance, practicing expressions etc. As a teacher it would include teaching students to dance, to eat right and sleep right.

What is a typical day like in your life?

There is nothing like a typical day for me. Every day is different. I take each day as it comes and everyday is a different adventure. Some days I focus on my exercises, some days are more about my dance, some days I work on choreography or a project.

field you excel in?

It takes motivation, intrinsic motivation every single day! You have to wake up and want to reinvent yourself. Never let your past successes let you relax. Focus more on the failures and learn from them. Constantly keep chasing your dreams.

Tell us something that no one knows about you?

I am not a good multi tasker. I can only take up one thing at a time and I become very obsessive about it until I complete it with perfection.

Tell us a funny incident that happened with you?

So the funniest thing happened with me when I went to watch Shobhana Garu perform at Ravindra Bharti. I had not dressed up at alluncombed hair, rubber chappals, no makeup on. After the performance we all stood up to give ‘THE’ Shobana a standing ovation and someone from the stage announced my name saying they wanted me to honour her with a shawl. I just froze! It was the most embarrassing and funniest moment of my life to go upon the stage dressed like I just got out from bed on a Sunday morning.

What does it take to be successful in the

How did Classical dancing happen?

When I was around 9 years old, my mother was looking to put me in some sort of an extracurricular activity to vent out all my energy. Around the same time, it so happened that I went to Bangalore to watch my dance master perform ‘ksheera sagara mathanam’ and I was totally hooked. Thats when my mom decided to enrol me into the dance school next to our house. After this, there was no turning back. From the first day of my class I just knew that I wanted to be a professional dancer.

How do you manage work and personal life?

I cannot manage work and personal life!

Im very bad at balancing things. Whenever I have to sort of balance anything, I just try to decide what’s more important at that moment and work things out accordingly.

Driven cafe is much more than just a themed eatery. Every inch of the cafe is made out of passion. The very next notable aspect is their loud music, deliberately above the preference of a layman, to give the rider a neutrality after his long windy ride. GOLCONDA FORT

An architectural masterpiece which was once the capital city of the Qutub Shahi Dynasty and standing tall in the city of Nizams, Golconda Fort needs no introduction. The Golconda Fort sites atop a granite hill and this 400 year old majestic and imposing citadel is one of the most outstanding citadels which epitomises the rich culture of “Nawabs” of that era, giving royal and bygone era feels. Though few may say that its beauty is fading due to the amount of ruins, Golconda Fort makes sure you get hooked to it for many reasons and fascinates people to pay a visit and get lost in time. What fascinates people and ensures their return is the rich history, the marvellous interiors, the secrets which are still buried and the stories of the past which can still be felt at every corner. Here are the missed and unseen details of the Golconda Fort which you’d be willing to experience -

The Darwazas

The ‘darwaza’ or gates of any fort played a very important role back then. Besides being functional, it adds mystique to the appearance of the structure and maybe that what entices people to enter and have a complete new experience.

Golconda Fort has eight important gates – Bala Hissar Darwaza, Fateh Darwaza, Banjara Darwaza, Moti Darwaza, Patancheru Darwaza, Mecca Darwaza and Yali Darwaza which connects and links to one route, out of which three of them were important in terms of architecture and purpose.

Bala Hissar Darwaza – The Bala Hissar depicts and showcases Indo-Islamic design in stucco between the arch and the lintel with a heraldic lion and other mythical animals.

There is also a peacock motif which is used above the door decoratively.

Fateh Darwaza – The ‘Fateh Darwaza’ or the ‘Victory Gate’ has a history as this is the gate through which Emperor Aurangzeb’s forces entered the fort.

The gate is located the southern part of the fort.

This gateway is 13 feet wide and 25 feet wide high which has iron sheets with spikes stuck on the teak doors, with two sockets at each side.

Yali Darwaza – The ‘Yali Darwaza’ pierces the middle fortification and has a very interesting broad lintel consisting of a lotus medallion with mythical animals on its sides, probably ‘yalis’.

Swans with worms in their beaks can also be seen. The pointed top is surrounded by animal and bird motifs.

Architectural Excellence – Golconda Fort’s beauty comes from an amalgamation of Indo-Islamic architecture. The meticulous details of each design carved at each gate, each pillar and the fading gardens which were once sprawling and playing fountains will act as a time machine transporting you back in time. The colossal gates at the entrance, the arches, the pillars and details at every corner will keep you intact with the place. The secrets of the past, such as, the underground tunnel which is believed to exist till date from ‘Durbar Hall’ to one of the palaces at the foothill to the forts, consisting the tombs of the Qutub Shahi Kings, will give you goose bumps for sure.

Also, the way the fort was designed with the granite rocks with exotic designs makes sure that the fort always has cool breeze inside despite the hot weather outside. Each and every corner has a story and being a huge fort, you never know what you get to discover or explore at the next turn.

The history behind this was for security reasons. The acoustics had proven to be useful, especially during Golconda’s reign as a capital- the period when the fort was attacked many times. The Iranian architects instructed the Qutub Shahis to mix a lot of substances into building materials for excellent sound reflections such as clay and metals. The Pillar Engraved with Bilingual Inscription –

A 16th century bilingual inscription has been discovered in Golconda Fort adding a new dimension to the Qutub Shahi dynasty. This bilingual inscription is uncommon and rare as it contains both Persian and Telugu scripts engraved on the both sides though badly eroded.

The script on this miniature pillar is said to match the style of inscriptions done by Vijayanagar emperors. At the top, are the symbols of ‘sun’ and ‘moon’, a customary practice in Telegu inscriptions.

The Man-Made Marvel – The acoustics might be a marvel when it comes to knowing how people back then used physics in the best possible way, but this main thing is always missed, not understood and rarely spoken about. The Golconda Fort has a web of aqueducts, clay pipes and storm water drains. The first one is right across the first entrance which carries water to the “Hammam”. The concept behind hamman is still not completely clear as the historians are divided whether it was exclusively for women or was used for rituals before the burial. In the middle of the vast courtyard of “Rani Mahal” is a metal fountain that has been a sight with the spray of water on a moonlit night, shining like a diamond.

Water bubbling out of a fountain is a wonderful sight but making it happen without any electricity is a miracle in itself. The Qutub Shahi kings used high water engineering skills to pump up water to higher levels, this leading a very urbane and modern lifestyle for their time.

Best Skin Treatments in Hyderabad

Out of all these services being provided, we went to experience Micro-needling procedure at Reva Clinic. Micro-needling is a derma roller procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin, this promoting firm and toned skin. The main purpose of this treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother skin.

We went and met Dr. Poojitha Pedarla who is an experienced dermatologist at the clinic, and showed our concerns of acne scars and open pores due to acne. We were amazed on how patiently she listened to our query, understood the problem and came to the conclusion of 4-5 sittings of micro-needling for a better and clear skin. On the day of our treatment, upon entering we were taken to the waiting lounge where a steaming cup of green tea was served and ensured us that we are in safe hands.

Procedure –

A cream is applied on the face for 45 mins before the procedure in the waiting lounge which works as an anaesthesia where it numbs the face which helps in not feeling anything while the procedure is being performed. It hardly took 5 mins for the procedure to complete. The doctor was cooperative enough to make sure we are in no pain and the whole procedure is a stress free procedure. An ice-pack is then applied where you feel much relaxed. The redness due to the needles will be there on the face for 2-3 days, but will subside and the fresh skin will start to come out and you can witness decreased pores with each session. With each session, you will notice your skin glow and shine with radiance.

It usually takes 5-6 sessions for it to show the best results, depending on the skin type and the level or intensity of problem. Laser toning as such has no down time, so getting back to work or resuming daily chores can be done immediately.

Procedure –

After listening to our problem, the doctor made sure that we are comfortable and she was friendly enough for us to reveal in details about the skin problems we are suffering from. She even kept us telling while performing the procedure about what is being done and its role.

First, the assistant cleaned the face and applied a layer of carbon powder on it. The carbon powder creates a layer between the laser rays and the skin and also helps in decreasing sebum secretion. 1064nm Wavelength Mode and Pulse width of 300us is used to heat the carbon to help with acne and open pores. After this, the doctor entered, covered the eyes with eye mask as radiations from laser are not healthy for the eyes and began the treatment.

The procedure started with the laser focussing on effected skin areas, though it pricked a little but she was gentle enough so it really didn’t hurt much.

During the Carbon removing process dead skin cells, makeup residue, clogged Pores, oil sebum and blackheads are removed. After the completion of treatment, a cold ice pack was applied on the skin to soothe and cool it down. This was followed by a vitamin C cream that would nourish bring glow to the skin.

After the session was completed, we were amazed looking at the results just the first session got. The skin was smoother and shinier with lesser appearance of dark spots, pigmentation, unwanted hair and freckles.

The overall experience was great and a much recommended experience in case you suffering from such skin conditions. The doctor is extremely humble and not money minded at all. She was kind enough to also help us out with a hair reduction treatment as a part of the laser treatment on the face!

In conversation with This will be your second web series of the year. How does it feel?

It always, doesn’t matter if it is first, second or hundredth, feels great to be working or doing the work that you actually enjoy doing.

I really feel proud that I have been the pioneer in bringing good quality series to the digital platform.

How is doing talk show different from any other series/movies you have done before?

They all are very different. Each movie is different from the one you have done before. So, every experience, every character has no comparison to what you have done before, that is the beauty of us as actors, we can go into so many characters and play so many different things but doing a talk show is always interesting because you trying to get something out of the other person so you are more interested in what the other person is saying rather than it being more about you unlike in movies.

We have heard that the show will reveal intimate matters – so how do you plan on managing this?

Yes, the show does reveal lot of intimate details and that is what the show is about. We want to know about what celebrities wear, eat, like literally what they do in their bedrooms.

You know when somebody sits across the table, sits across the sofa, now I should say who sits next to the bed with me, I can feel it, I can say it, and I mean there is no such strategy maybe that is why my talk show has been such a hit. I know what I want to go after but I let the celebrity take over.

Tell us something very funny/ embarrassing incidents from the sets of ‘feet up with the stars’.

Oh, there have been lot of embarrassing/funny incidents. I think half the time I realise that I shouldn’t be laughing or cracking

jokes over other people’s voices. We had to be stopped many times just because we were like, “No! We didn’t get that, can you repeat that again” because we were over laughing at each other all the time, so, you will have to watch the show to see what funny tit bits were there.

happening next but I am right now here to talk about the one and only fabulous show that’s on our telugu channels that no other region has picked up. We are the first people to pick up and do such a concept in Telugu so I would like to celebrate the hard work that went into this and when I am ready to celebrate the next one, I shall surely let you know.

You have worked for Hollywood and Tollywood – how are they different from one another?

Apart from the two letters, the passion, the love, the commitment that each of them have to tell a story and the commitment to the art is undeniable.

What’s a usual day in your life like?

These days, everything revolves around my daughter’s school and classes, her timings. Just that and then everything else comes into play afterwards. I have been more diligent about looking my best, feeling my best and giving my since she was born. Whatever it takes like eating healthy, working out hard, setting goals for myself.

Tell us something about how you are as a mother to Apple. Are you an easy going mom or strict?

I am a very easy going mom but when it comes to discipline, I don’t hesitate. I could be at a wedding, an award show, at a party, if I see she is using the space to misbehave, I don’t give in, I take her right out, make her explain what is going on because being a celebrity’s daughter and coming from a celebrity’s family, she is got higher responsibility to completely embrace who she is but to be who she is also.

So, the disciplinarian in the house, is definitely me.
