LISTENER “STORY” Listener Soo Seok Yang was leaving his office when he heard Billy Irvin broadcasting live from Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery sharing about the Michael English concert. Soo Seok diverted his plans and headed straight to the church anticipating his favorite Michael English song “In Christ Alone.” As the concert was wrapping up, Soo Seok found the courage to speak up and ask Michael English to sing this song that had such an impact on his life when he was in Korea. Michael not only sang the song, but invited our listener Soo Seok to help sing the song with him! It was a tremendous surprise for Soo Seok, and he was blessed for tuning in and responding!

Our broadcast is pouring God’s truth into thousands each day. We share programs that help build up marriages and families, disciple Christians, share truths from the Word of God, and encourage your faith. A listener, Slade Parrish, recently shared how much he enjoys listening to our Saturday morning program “God’s Great Outdoors.” He said this program combines his love of the outdoors with his love of the Lord. Slade shared, “On Saturday mornings, I enjoy listening to ‘God’s Great Outdoors’ on Faith Radio. This is a great program that intersects my passion for the outdoors with my faith. This is a great show to learn more about hunting and fishing, and how God is at work through His creation.” At Faith Radio, we have a variety of programs to help grow all people in their relationship with Jesus. We are thankful for the opportunity to be on a Christian leadership team of pastors in our community to help Montgomery, Alabama be “One Montgomery” in Christ under the banner of John 17:21: “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”
It is a blessing for our ministry to come alongside other ministries throughout our listening areas. We emceed Sav-A-Life of Covington County’s annual banquet that featured Jason Crabb (above) and helped emcee the Footprints Ministry’s Annual Golf Tournament. 6

We enjoy participating in local events such as the Pike Road Arts and Crafts festival and are thankful for our volunteers who helped us share balloons and God’s love.

Christmas Cross distribution has become a very special part of our Christmas season. We are blessed to have a donor and a group of volunteers who provide for and make Christmas crosses to help our listeners share Jesus throughout the community.
We are excited that our ministry broadcast on hospital televisions has expanded into the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika! We had a great kick-off celebration with EAMC staff who acknowledged that spiritual encouragement is an important part of the healing process. We are thankful to now be on TV Channel 82 at EAMC.

aith Radio believes in the power of prayer and the special opportunity that corporate prayer provides. Coming before the Lord with other believers in a time of confession, adoration, thanksgiving, or supplication is a powerful, faith-building experience. This is one of the reasons the Faith Radio staff prays together every weekday morning for you, our listeners, and any needs that we know of in our community. We encourage you to send us any prayer requests you have and know that we will be praying for you. We also publicize and support corporate prayer events that we know are occurring in our listening area. Montgomery has several regular corporate prayer events for which Faith Radio has been a partner. Recently, the ONE Montgomery Prayer Service was held in conjunction with the inauguration of our new mayor, Steven Reed. The event was held at Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church and was a special time of unifying prayer for the city. The O.U.R. Montgomery (One United Reaching Montgomery) Prayer Walk has been organized by Montgomery area pastors and Christian leaders to have corporate prayer walks in different Montgomery neighborhoods on the first Saturday of each month. On the first Saturday of the month, believers gather in a designated neighborhood to fellowship and pray for the needs of that community. By involving believers and Christian leaders from the particular neighborhood, participants learn the community’s specific needs and get a very localized view of where God is already at work. Faith Radio’s Billy Irvin is a frequent prayer walker and said, “These prayer walks not only grow the fellowship of believers beyond the walls of their church and neighborhood, but they also open your eyes to the many great things happening in our community that we don’t hear about.” For example, Irvin learned Faith Radio’s Ministry Magazine - January-March 2020
of programs where churches are meeting the needs of students by supplying backpacks to elementary children and stocking food pantries in the schools. One church even helped provide a washer and dryer for an elementary school where many students didn’t have clean clothes to wear. “It’s encouraging to see churches and schools working together. We also discover any special needs or gaps in ministry and identify how other ministries can come alongside and help.” Dothan has a Prayer House Group that has been meeting for over five years. The Prayer House Group (“PHG”) meets every Wednesday night at the ARK ministry building for a time of focused, corporate prayer for needs in their community. Charles Ward shared, “The PHG is known around Dothan as a proactive prayer ministry where anyone can ask for prayer and be confident that the group will be lifting up those needs and concerns to the Lord!” They have recently added a 24 hour texting prayer chain where any immediate prayer requests are forwarded to the prayer warriors. In Andalusia, a popular site for prayer
events is the city square, where believers gather for events like the National Day of Prayer and See You at the Pole. Andalusia listener Jan White said, “There is something unique when believers from various denominations and churches come together to pray on the Square. It’s a picture of the body of Christ uniting in prayer. The Square is the center of our town where we find common ground.” These times of corporate prayer that unite the Church also serve to “multiply the faith of believers when [they] cry out to God with one voice,” said Jan. Other corporate prayer events happening annually in our listening area include local observances of the National Day of Prayer and “See You at the Pole.” While personal prayer should be the believer’s constant posture, there is something special about gathering with other believers for times of corporate prayer. Seek out such opportunities in your community. Create such opportunities in your community. You will blessed when you do.

PROGRAMMER SPOTLIGHT FAITH RADIO PROGRAMMING REFLECTS DEVOTION TO PRAYER The ministry of Faith Radio is devoted to providing Bible teaching and inspiration through not only our full-length Bible teaching programs and our music, but also our short features that are heard throughout the day. Many of those features have an emphasis on prayer. The Presidential Prayer Team produces the Pause To Pray minute-long feature, in which specific national leaders are highlighted by job title and responsibility. A Scripture verse highlights a particular aspect of their positions. It can be heard weekdays at 11:10 a.m. and 8:10 p.m. You can find out more at PauseToPray.org. It’s Time to Pray is heard weekday mornings at 5:10 a.m. and other times during the day. The speaker is Carter Conlon, the Senior Pastor of New York City’s Times Square Church. In this one-minute feature, he emphasizes the importance of prayer and encourages people to engage in it. Times Square Church shows its commitment to prayer by hosting a weekly Tuesday night World Wide Prayer Meeting through its website. A recent addition to the Faith Radio programming lineup is the Stand in the Gap Minute, which features commentary by Sam Rohrer, President of the American Pastors Network and former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He focuses on the urgency and responsibility of all citizens to intercede for our nation. More information can be found at StandInTheGapMedia.org. The Meeting House Encourges Believers To “PRAY IN” 2020 by Bob Crittenden, host of The Meeting House
Throughout the past few months, The Meeting House has featured a number of conversations with individuals who are deeply involved in motivating Christians to be in prayer. It has been my intent to help and encourage you to "pray in" the New Year and make 2020 a year of exponential growth in your prayer life. At the 2019 Christian Product Expo International in Murfreesboro, TN, I spoke with a number of authors and leaders whose ministries emphasize prayer. Elaine Helms is an author who serves as Director of Church Prayer Ministries. Her unquestionable commitment to the spiritual discipline of prayer has yielded her the nickname, “The Prayer Lady.” She has written a number of books, including Prayer 101. At the Expo, I also spoke with Janet Holm McHenry, author of The Complete Guide to the Prayers of Jesus. McHenry encouraged believers to adopt the prayer practices of our Lord. Linda Evans Shepherd, who heads the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association, discussed her book, When You Need to Move a Mountain. Tom Phillips, Vice President of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Executive Director of The Billy Graham Library, is a leading voice for revival and spiritual awakening in our nation. I met with him to discuss his book, Ignite Your Passion for Jesus. Prayer gives us a unique connection with our Heavenly Father, who desires for us to bring our requests before His throne. We can possess an awareness that we have access to the resources of heaven, and as we pray in a concerted and united manner, we can see God accomplish mighty things through His people.

2019 -YEAR IN was a busy year of ministry for Faith Radio and our programmers. The first part of the year was filled with concerts and conferences. Among the many concerts we helped welcome were the Collinsworth Family and the Crabb Family as they brought their musical talents to the River Region. We also partnered with the Confident Parenting Conference and Family Life's Weekend To Remember. The year was a year of change in some of our radio programming. Family Life Today, the broadcast ministry of Family Life, welcomed new co-hosts Dave and Ann Wilson to the show. The Wilson's joined Bob Lepine after Dennis and Barbara Rainey moved to a less active role. Faith Radio added new radio

programs, including “A New Beginning” with Pastor Greg Laurie and “Pathway To Victory” with Pastor Robert Jeffress. Faith Radio also welcomed Laurie Peterson to the Faith Radio Board of Directors. Listener favorites, Family Faith Night and the Faith Radio Golf Tournament, continued to be special events. Family Faith Night was a great, fun-filled family event with featured artist, Josh Gilbert. The golf tournament was played on, perhaps, the hottest day in September. Nonetheless, this 20th edition of the tournament was a treat for our players and sponsors. We ended the year on a high note with our wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas

traditions. Chris Tomlin helped us worship and remember the true meaning of the season at the Montgomery Family Christmas. As we usually do, we distributed hundreds of Christmas crosses in Montgomery and Dothan. Baptist Health's Live Nativity once again proved to be a joyfilled family Christmas event. We hope these traditions give your Christmas joy a booster shot! Only God knows what 2020 will bring. We thank you for being an integral part of 2019. Sow and Reap by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 9:8 that “God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” If you are giving generously with the right motivation, then you can expect God to meet your needs. Notice how many times the word “all” appears in that Bible verse. God says that He will take care of all of your needs if you will trust Him. How much do you want God’s blessings? Will you trust Him with everything? If you live and give God’s way, you can expect Him to multiply your seed of generosity. Giving is not a debt you owe. It’s a seed you sow. When you make financial gifts to Faith Radio, God will use your giving to reap generosity in others. God will use your gifts to bless you and others.
