KeyClubandSocialMedia

Our school uses social media to promote communication by spreading the word about our events and volunteering opportunities. Our primary forms of social media are TikTok, Instagram, and Discord. However, we use each app differently due to the formatting, including posting clips, reminders, and having group discussions.

Firstly, we TikTok to promote upcoming events in short video format Our most recent example is when we had our trash pickup event after school on Friday, September 30th Three days earlier, public relations made a TikTok promoting the event. We also incorporate humor into these TikToks, as shown when one of our officers came to the sweeper and attacked the broom. Measures like these are to get our message across to viewers. As you can see, we don’t have many videos up right now, but we’re planning on posting more in the future

Speaking of promoting upcoming events, we use our Instagram account for a similar purpose. However, instead of posting short videos, we post photos of upcoming community events and links to monthly newsletters. Sometimes, we would also post people participating in the events to show us helping out the community. Either way, what’s consistent about these posts is that they all have very detailed planning, much like the events themselves

We use Discord for a different reason than Instagram and TikTok. Discord is mainly used by Key Club members to chat about upcoming events and give reminders. However, this still promotes communication in a literal sense, as members ask questions, share concerns, and just talk about what’s going on This also means that people from around the world aren’t allowed to join unless invited. However, Discord doesn’t have many online opportunities like other social media platforms, so this is understandable.

To conclude, we use social media for communication for different reasons, such as promoting events and having group discussions Any communication is better than none at all
