all is in the air and winter will soon be upon us! Although in Southern California we may not celebrate changing of the seasons, we do embrace any occasion to celebrate. One of the favorite occasions for small business is the kick-off of the holiday shopping season that traditionally begins just after Thanksgiving with Small Business Saturday! Will you be spending your dollars locally?

Winter holidays can only mean that the New Year is around the corner and in California that means new laws regulating business. Governor Brown signed over 1,000 bills during 2018, many of Photo by Paul McKelvey which will affect employers in 2019. NOC Chamber wants to make sure your business is aware of changes and assist you with implementation. Every employer regardless of size is required to update state and federal postings for employees. The Chamber is offering deep discounts on HR Products published by Cal Chamber through December 15. Order yours now! Economists predict that consumer confidence is on the rise. If business start-ups locally are any indicator, we can attest that is true! The past quarter provided opportunities for a record number of opening and anniversary celebrations. The Chamber salutes these businesses and shares information provided by new and established entrepreneurs highlighting the charms and attributes of small business. Finally, we celebrate success. Whether its funding dedicated to welding programs at Fullerton College, jobs for interns, or the Chamber’s role in strengthening the workforce, we recognize those things that make a difference in the quality of life throughout region.
