A Note from Robin Ciao Bella, I'm so excited to share this month's cover gal with you as she has a fabulous business, based around bubbles with the cutest Italian truck to dress up your next event. I'd seen trucks in Europe and thought that would be fun, but never thought to look into bringing it to the states. Cynthia Geiger found a way to make her dream happen and it's inspiring! Offering full transparency , I am partial to this gal as she was on our first GGG trip to Italy and just happens to be the Aunt to my future son in law. We enjoyed her truck for a bridal shower and can't wait to share it at the wedding this fall too! Cynthia is a prime example of women making career changes and looking for ways to combine their passions with bringing home the bacon to support their families! Speaking of women following their passions, we bring back Dawn Galante of Dawn's Dream Winery out of Carmel , CA who believes in drinking for a cause. She helps us all do this through her fabulous wines that allow you to sip and know a portion of proceeds go to good causes . It doesn't get much better than sipping and supporting good causes!

We've got fabulous recipes to really work with the heat of summer while keeping you in the kitchen as little as possible because none of us want to turn on our ovens on purpose, right? We've got to eat, but I find the grill and cold fare become my best friends during the summer months. And please....bring on the gelato! This issue we're sharing our love for outdoors and camping! We've got some fun spots that offer the "glamping" version of camping and even throw in a couple of tips on car camping, which we tried for the first time in our BMW X5 with a sort of spur of the moment weekend getaway. Let's just say there was plenty of wine to that trip. Here's Cynthia's thoughts on Entrepreneurship ....

What was your inspir ation for becoming an Entrepreneur and taking the twists and tur ns that I?m not a stranger to business and what it takes to start a business and I?ve always marched to the beat of my own drummer. It?s exciting, albeit frustrating and scary at the same time.

Ha! This is my personal life! When you take on a project as this, it becomes you - or maybe you become the project! At this point in my life, being a single woman, I have all of me to invest and that?s a positive thing right now. If timing is everything, this is the right time for me.

How do you j uggle per sonal life with business life?

What spar ked Fizz & Flutes, L ovely Bubbles Co. Prosecco Tr uck?

come along on this road?

In the summer of 2017 I was scrolling through Facebook and I saw an ad for a company in England that had this adorable little truck and ran a business out of it selling Prosecco and I was smitten. I immediately contacted them and asked if they were interested in bringing their concept to the states and they didn?t know how to respond, I had caught them off guard. They asked for some time to think about it and about a month later and several unanswered emails they were interviewed by the Today Show! I knew I was onto something big!

What's the Fizz & Flutes exper ience? Descr ibe what happens when " M ia" the prosecco tr uck shows up? It really is a unique experience - the truck, the concept and the product! The little Piaggio Ape?truck is the first of its kind this side of the Mississippi. Prosecco on tap has only been available in kegs for about a year and half. Prosecco itself is still gaining a robust following. The customer is responsible for purchasing the keg while I assume all set up, serving, champagne flutes, and clean up. I will also provide flavors to add to the Prosecco. You've co-owned other business's, what makes this one your passion business? This is my passion business because there really is nothing else out there like it. There are many in Europe but the model in the US is limited so I am in new territory! The liquor laws have made it a challenge but I am creating a niche for myself.

How impor tant do you feel social media is in today's business plan?

discount on the prosecco has been helpful.

I am myself learning the value of social media in todays business plan. I have children who are in business and who are helping me learn that side of the model and it?s something that doesn?t come easily for me but with time I hope to become part of the landscape!

Give us a golden nugget of something you believe ever y woman should know when she takes a leap into her passions to design her life, on her ter ms? Be strong! Stronger than you believe you are!

What books, magazines or podcasts are cur rently inspir ing you? I?ve been into podcasts created by and for women. I love a good inspirational story that highlights strong women and how we all have our strengths! I also love Country Living magazine, my guilty pleasure!

What do you wish you had known at the beginning of this j our ney that you had to discover the har d way? It seems like I am literally learning everything the hard way on this journey but that?s okay! Because there is no model here for a mobile Prosecco truck I am figuring out what works as I go along. My customer feedback is invaluable to me!

What is the most challenging for you as a business owner and what resources, if any, do you use to help with those challenges? The most challenging aspect of this business is the liquor law and asking the customer to purchase the Prosecco. I would love to be a ?full service? business in that respect. From the women business owners you know to the women friends you make to the women relatives in your life! What's your favor ite wine and food pair ing today, without thinking about it?

The first thing that pops into your mind? That?s an easy one for me... I drink Prosecco with everything!

What's the exper ience you want people to most come away with when you pull up to an event? First and foremost, I want people to think, ?How, different and unique is that!? This little truck is the first of its kind in Colorado! I want the experience to be the first of its kind for many people as well!

What makes Fizz & Flutes the " go to" ser vice when someone is hosting an event; weddings, festivals, br idal & baby shower s, cor por ate... ?It?s a Smile, It?s a Kiss, It?s a Sip of Wine? It?s Summer time!? By Laur en Maines, What 's Wine Is Your s Lauren Maines is a Sommelier and the founder and owner of, What?s Wine is Yours. Follow her on Instagram & Facebook at, What?s Wine is Yours. Contact her directly: Lauren@whatswineisyours.net

There is nothing quite like the taste of a chilled, crisp and refreshing white wine on your lips while basking in the heat, beauty and magnificence of a summer evening. What do I retrieve from the cellar when the perfect summer evening calls for the perfect white wine? My selection may be a surprise to many because the dry white wines from this famous region are overshadowed by the regality of their famous siblings. My favorite summer white wine is one of the best kept secrets in the world of wine? Bordeaux, Blanc!

Bor deaux? Blanc? In the past two issues I focused on the regal red wines of Bordeaux and the famous 1855 Classification, which is considered the most famous wine classification system in the world! This Classification ranked the top sixty-one red wine producing chateaus in the Medoc Region (Left Bank) of Bordeaux in the year 1855. Bordeaux red wines are some of the most famous (and most expensive) red wines in the world. Many people are surprised to learn that Bordeaux also produces both dry and sweet white wines. Although, Bordeaux is home to world famous sweet white wines, I will be focusing on the lively, flirty, and DRY white wines this month. (Stay tuned for a future sweet article!) Bordeaux, France is home to fabulous dry, white wines made predominately from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes. Muscadelle, Ugni Blanc, and Colombard are also used, but in small quantities. As with the famous red wines from Bordeaux, white wines from Bordeaux are most often blends. Bordeaux, Blanc wines make up 8% of the total wine production Wines produced from Sauvignon Blanc in Bordeaux are fresh, high in acid and filled with distinct aromatic citrus, floral, and grassy notes. The Sémillon grape is somewhat neutral in its aroma and flavor profile when young. However, when blended together these grapes produce wines with depth, personality, and playful yet approachable characteristics. When blended with Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon adds body to the wine as well as refined citrus flavors. I like to say that Sémillon soothes the sometimes zealous nature of Sauvignon Blanc. Depending on the ratio of Sauvignon Blanc to Sémillon, these fashionable white wines can offer two distinct style options. Wines made from predominately Sauvignon Blanc are typically lighter bodied with flavors of lemon, lime, grapefruit GIRLSGONEGRAPE.COM

grass, flowers, and honey. Wines with a higher ratio of Sémillon are richer and fuller-bodied with aromas and flavors of grapefruit, pear, peach & nutty characteristics.

a glass of Bordeaux, Blanc in your hand. ?Cheers!? to a beautiful beginning of Summer.

What?s I n M y Glass?

Suggested Wines: -

Château L?Orangerie, Bordeaux Blanc, 2017 (85% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Sémillon)

-

Chateau Graville-Lacoste, Graves, 2017 (75% Sémillon, 20% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Muscadelle)

The regional designation, and perhaps most common labeling terms is ?Bordeaux, Blanc.? Fresh and vibrant white wines are also being produced in, ?Entre-Deux-Mers? and will be labeled accordingly. The finest dry white wines of Bordeaux come from two Left Bank appellations and will be labeled appropriately: ?Pessac-Léognan? and ?Graves.? The young white wines from these regions often exhibit enticing aromas and vivacious flavors of lemon, stones, flowers, and grapefruit. However, if you are patient you will be rewarded! Bottle maturation encourages the wine to evolve and display characteristics of toast and honey.

I have decided to continue with the Bordeaux, Blanc theme and enjoy a glass of one of the recommended wines from the article: Château L?Orangerie, Bordeaux Blanc, 2017 (85% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Sémillon). I discovered this wine back in December and I knew it would be my official 2019 ?Summer Sipper!? This wine is lively, fresh and crisp with aromas and flavors of lemons, grapefruit, and the slightest hint of peach. Pour yourself a glass and head to the nearest patio? Summer is calling you!

As discussed in the April and May issues, red wines from Bordeaux command hefty price tags. Many of the luxurious dry white wines from Bordeaux allow us the opportunity to experience Bordeaux without breaking the bank. These wines typically fall within the $15 and $25 price range. However, if you are looking for a truly unique experience with the price tag to match, you have come to the right region. Elite wines from Pessac-Léognan will provide the unique experience that only Bordeaux can offer. The wines are incredibly structured yet elegant and elitist yet approachable. Now that I have filled you in on one of the best kept secrets of the wine world, I hope you find yourself savoring the beautiful summer nights ahead of us with

WINE CRUSH

Sh ar in g Not es On Th e Sips We'r e Cr u sh in g On M on t h ly!

Pr at ello Tor r azzo | Sipped at M r s. Tor elli's Win e Flat , Lovelan d, CO | Produced by Pratello, Italy

Organically grown in Lombardia near Lake Garda this sophisticated red blend of Groppello and Marzemino has nicely balanced acidity and tannins with a long finish. Think ripe berry and rich, deep fruit tones. Would be awesome with grilled salmon or roasted chicken.

Pr at ello Lu gan a | Sipped at M r s. Tor elli's Win e Flat , Lovelan d, CO | Produced by Pratello, Italy

Another organically grown from Pratello bringing you a delightful and aromatic white wine. On the nose you'll find apple, pear and juniper berries. The taste is more peach, apple and white rose petals with a medium body. A nice bottle for seafood dishes that Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator both ranked in the 90's points. It's smooth and balances the sweet, sour, and salty to a rounded out sip.

M ican t e Ver m en t in o | Sipped at M r s. Tor elli's Win e Flat , Lovelan d, CO | Producer: Maremmalta, Tuscany, Italy

An interesting white with almost juicy notes of peach and lemon peel on the nose. It has a lingering finish with a crisp acidity that makes it perfect for shellfish. Its a wine drank best early as it's a young wine and you'll pick up notes of peach as it's sips linger fairly long. If you're looking to try a white with a bit of a "zing", then this should be one you try.

Zin gar a Pr osecco| Sipped at Pr ivat e even t , Lovelan d, CO | Producer - Zingara, Veneto, Italy

As a Prosecco lover, I can say this is one that will become a regular rotation in our household. It's golden straw color is sparkling with persistent "bubbles". It's clean, bright with expressive floral aromatics and delightful notes of citrus and green apple with crisp acidity. For a fun pairing try buttered popcorn or potato chips or of course, a nice antipasti! Also, made for a delicious mimosa.

Zin gar a Pin ot Gr igio | Sipped at Pr ivat e even t , Lovelan d, CO | Producer - Zingara, Veneto, Italy

Pinot Grigio isn't my favorite white as I tend to think of it as an inexpensive happy hour type wine, but this was surprisingly enjoyable. It has a floral bouquet with white fruits on the palate that give this a memorable freshness and softness. As you can see from the empty bottle, we enjoyed this one. Think white sauce dishes like a lemon chicken piccata.

Shar e Your Sips Today Head over to our Facebook or Instagram and tell us what you're sipping on for a chance to be entered to win a Girls Night In package from our partners monthly! We're a community and we want to share what sips you think we should all be sipping. Yes, we love to share our sips, but...we'd love to share yours too!

LaTor r et t a M oscat o | sipped at Pr ivat e even t , Lovelan d, CO | Producer - LaTorretta, Veneto, Italy

La Torretto takes the sweet and popular Moscato to the frizzante side - the hint of carbonation adds a splash of fun to a wine that is fragrant and fruity with hints of citrus. The hint of carbonation takes the sweetness down a tone fro most moscato, but it's delightful. I'm not a sweet wine drinker, but this may change my mind. I'd serve it chilled around 42-44 degrees to really enjoy. We also added to mimosa's which gave a a sweeter spin to them.

SHE SAYS WINE. H E SAYS BEER. Twenty Two years, two kids and seven pups later this couple keeps laughing through life. Yes, even when they don't agree. By David and Robin Salls Here's our thoughts on camping bever ages..... SHE SAYS: Most don't think of wine being camping friendly. You've got glass bottles, wine glasses, cork screws, etc. Wine just seems like a hassle to take camping.

when camping, but thanks to my daughter in law, red solo cups are no longer the go too. She found a set of plastic wine glasses at the local Pier One that are perfect.

HE SAYS: Unless you're Robin. Wine is a must on our trips regardless of the hassle of bringing it. I say beer is the simple solution, but she's not going for that.

HE SAYS: Leave it to my wife to have wine glasses on hand to encourage wine consumption. She's a walking wine drinking advocate. Keep in mind, what you pack in, you have to pack out. You can't crush a bottle in your hand.

SHE SAYS: Of course not. I can say it's simpler to take wine now than ever before. You've got some great canned wines, if you don't want the hassle of glass. Canned wines by wineries like Infinite Monkey Theorum, Underwood or Colterris Winery make for good options. I still prefer my bottles, so I pack them carefully and always have a corkscrew on hand (there's one in every glove box of every car we own). As for glasses, I've never been a snob to paper or plastic

SHE SAYS: He's right, bottles take up more room in general, but camping is suppose to be relaxing and what's more relaxing than a glass of wine! HE SAYS: A beer and a cigar. SHE SAYS: For you maybe. Give me a glass of wine, smores and I'm good. And, with all the fancy coolers that keep things cold for days, it's easy to take your wine and keep it at a good temperature. I use to

HE SAYS: I'll give it to you that this time round, it was easier than in the past to bring wine. Reds aren't bad for warming up when the temps drop in the mountains. And, I've learned that it's easier to let her bring wine than to listen to her whine about not having it. SHE SAYS: I don't whine...Okay, I don't whine much. But, it is good advice to keep in mind that when your partner is happy, you'll be happy. In our case, just keep the wine flowing and we're good. HE SAYS: Wine, beer and a good bourbon gives choices that keep me happy. SHE SAYS: That's his way of saying we didn't take the bourbon this past weekend. I won't forget it next time honey. Wine, Beer, Bourbon and of course, lots of water. Then you just need to remember to drink the water. A problem I have when I get going on my wine. But, hey, I'm only human and I believe when you get right down to it, water was turned into wine by the big boss upstairs... HE SAYS: Again, my wife is a walking wine advocate. I think she could convince just about anybody that wine is a must have. I'm not sure how she survived before turning 21. SHE SAYS: You know, now that you mention that...I'm not sure either! Let me know your wine camping hacks, if you have any!

There are setbacks and great advancements, so you need to be kind to yourself. I make sure that I include one small act of self-care each day, even if I have to push myself. It could be something as small as a 10-minute meditation or a bath or something big like walking 10 miles. Life is a journey, so I try to switch off the voice in my head that says I have to be perfect. Family is super important to me, so I make my husband and children a priority, they are the base of me! GLAMPING : GLAMOUROUS CAMPING OFFERING OUTDOOR LOVERS AN UPGRADE FOR REST AND RELAXATION

Glamping is one of the new trends in camping where you leave a lot of the " roughing" it

-

out of your experience and add in a few touches that make it feel more like a luxery trek! You can easily create your own glamping experience at a level of your liking by simply bringing a few extra items to spruce of your tent. May we suggest: -

A good, battery operated blow up Queen mattress. Down comforters (instead of sleeping bags). Lots of pillows. LED or solar powered lighting - I love to take frosted wine bottles and stick LED lights that are attached to a fake cork that are made for indoor

-

or outdoor use. The lighting just takes the experience up a notch. Add in a fancy bucket for beverages and glassware (although, you can find fun options that aren't glass). A plush rug to embrace your feet. Whatever personal items that make you happy!

With a little planning it is easy to turn your campsite into a bit of a glamp site. We still rough it typically with no showers/bathrooms and big camp fires, but whats camping without a bit of roughing it. We prep a few meals for ease and then we just enjoy our day hiking and playing knowing at the end of the day we get to climb into a lush sleeping experience that will nurture our body and souls and prep us for the next day's adventure. Sounds great, right? But, if you're

thinking that sounds like too much work for you, then you're in luck ...with a little research, one can almost always find a few Luxury Glamping experiences already put together for you to just show up and enjoy. You'll find a few of our favorite spots listed here, but we encourage you to search out your area and let us know what you come up with. Keep in mind, a glamping experience hosted by someone else is always going to be a bit more costly than normal camping, but if you love the outdoors, but also love the pampering of a hotel and showers, then glamping at one of the locations listed is up your alley. The cost is worth the experience at least once in your life. I laughed at the idea of glamping myself, but after years of camping, my older self will tell you the extra touches appeal to me more and more! I still love the outdoors, but its nice to step it up a notch and keep my bones comfy.

5 Tips For which you may need at night, there is always the chance your car battery could be drained if doors or hatches are left open long term. The extra ports were great for keeping our phones charged without using the car battery.

Car Camping isn't just for the young if you do it right. That said, it's not for those who can't roll with the punches either. We've tent camped together for the past 22 years. We joke that we own the condominium of tents with it's rooms and built in closets, yet due to size, it's sometimes isn't the most fun to take into remote areas. So, when we received an invitation to go camping with family over the Father's Day weekend in the remote area of Medicine Bow, Colorado, our first thought was the hassle of making our huge tent work. We didn't want to buy a new tent because we really do love our condo, so what to do? I thought it's only for two nights, surely we can make our BMW work somehow. The next ten days began a mission to figure out how to car camp comfortably with my hubs,, so he would still enjoy camping and frankly, not ring my neck for how we spent his Father's Day. Here are our lessons/tips learned.

3. Bring an easy to set up canopy for space sleeping in the car was fairly easy, but if we hadn't had our canopy for when it rained, we would have been crammed in our car, rather than sitting in chairs enjoying the rain falling around us.

4. Bring fine mesh or sheer tulle for windows If it's hot (our time here was not) you could rig windows with material to create air flowing through the vehicle throughout the night without bugs getting in. 5. Use bottles and LED outdoor lights - Try wine bottles and LED outdoor/indoor lights (Fake cork looking ones on amazon) to create more than enough lighting. They can be handy for evening bathroom trips too.

1. Quality Air Mattress specifically sized for your SUV or truck - Lots of regular ones on the market, but worth the money for one that fits your car and is about 5" thick. We loved our Pavoni car mattress. It made the difference in comfort and we didn't need to refill the air once! The Pavoni can also be used in a tent or water and has it's own pillow too. The material was soft and neither of us rolled to the center when the other got up! 2. Carry a Battery Charger, preferably one with charging ports too - While we didn't need ours, it was nice knowing we had it just in case. Unless, you want to pull out your inside lights or bulbs, GIRLSGONEGRAPE.com

DAWN'S DREAM WINERY Car mel, Califor nia

D

aw n's Dr eam

Winery started with a woman's dream of producing approachable wines of exceptional quality and elegance. She's also always had a passion for supporting others dreams, especially that of women and children and looked for a way to create a business model that would allow her to combine her passions of wine and helping others. Thus, the winery was born! They specialize in Pinot Noirs, each blend named for one of Dawn's daughter's, along with Rose and Chardonnay. The Rose is a must sip during the warm summer days with its delightful, lively hints of orange zest and citrus on the nose in a delicate hue of peachy pink. Your mouth is flooded with notes of strawberry and melon just before tart green apples and crisp acidity on the finish leave your mouth watering for another sip! They've been voted he "Best Rose of Monterey County" - 5 years in a row since 2014! From persoanl sipping experience, we can tell you they win for a reason! It's one of our favorite Roses and they just happen to be one of our GGG Cellar partners, so there is a perk to ordering their wine too! Yes, there are perks when you order this wine, even if you're not a GGG member, When you order from them, a portion of every sale goes to charities as this is a huge part of the dream of Dawn's Dream Winery. You can sip knowing you're helping causes that support women and children while you're getting elegant wines. The tasting room in downtown Carmel offers a lovely atmosphere, along with a copper tub, that matches the tub on the labels. I beleive we were told the idea for the winery came in a soaking tub full of bubbles and the desire to create that feeling for everyone. The feeling that wine is approachable and everyday should be filled with elegant sips. Okay, that

last part was more our thoughts, but I'm not wrong, am I? For those who love a good Pinot Noir, again either of the Pinots, from various vineyards, along with the selct Pinots will leave you delighted. I've not persoanlly had the Chardonnay, but I'm told it ranks right up there with all the wine offerings. Be sure to check out their winery when in California or check them out online. They are always updating their events calendar with events like the one below that offer a chance to support wonderful groups! They are known for hosting guest bartenders in the winery with pours where you might be surprised to see whose pouring your wine that day. You'll also find Dawn, herself doing some quest pouring at other venues to as she shares her message of aporoachable wines and giving back. Let them know you heard about their fabulous Rose from the gals over at Girls Gone Grape or t he Wine 2 Five gals, that introduced GGG to Dawn's Dream Winery.

WEEKEND TRAVEL L AK E GRANBY, COL ORADO is one of the lar gest lakes in Color ado offer ing vistor s year round enter tainment. Whatever the time of year, there is something for ever yone; hunting, hiking, boating, snowmobiling, dog sleds, biking, skiing..... Our favor ite time to visit is dur ing the summer months where we can hike in the mor ning and spend the after noon on the lake on a pontoon boat soaking up the color ado sunshine. And, j ust when you begin to think you can't handle the heat any longer, you slide into the cr isp, cool mountain water and feel your hear t r ace! There's nothing quite like taking a dip in the water s of the Rocky M ountains! I t j olts you for j ust a second, then you look around and it hits you...this is God's countr y. Per haps you're more into the shops that line downtown Gr anby or a biking tour on one of the many tr ails near by. The L ake Gr anby area captures your soul and easily becomes your muse! Our last visit we incor por ated our dining and lodging by staying at M ustachios on the L ake, owned by David and L isa Pr att who have been calling Gr and County home since 1989, with M ustachios being their thir d owned business in the area. M ustachios features I talian family styled dishes r ight along the water, along with 4 rooms for resting your head at night that give you a r ustic mountain adventure. A stay here includes a continental breakfast and they are open for lunch and dinner . I f you'd r ather tr y your hand at RVing, then you might want to check out River Run RV resor t where upscale amentines meet r ustic char m. We rented a pontoon from Beacon L anding M ar ina, where you can also find accomodations too. The staff was helpful and the process was simple and quick for our pick up. We would suggest calling and reser ving your boats, etc ahead of time. You can also br ing your own water toys, but I 'd suggest checking with one of the mar inas for the lake guidelines. Check out The Gr anby Chamber of Commerce for ideas on planning your tr ip to this par t of Color ado! You won't be disapointed!
