Delivery Method

Virtual Coursera training course including a weekly virtual peer learning session that includes job preparation, resume and interview workshops, and other work readiness skills (job readiness classes start every 4 weeks and occur on Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Also included are extra in-person lab activities and classes that are supplemental to the Coursera content.

Duration

12-24 weeks, minimum 25 hours per week including a weekly job readiness class during business hours.

Prerequisites & Assessments

Complete the Google IT Professional Coursera program Knowledge and experience with Python, and should have experience in IT, software, and/or coding. Pass Northstars assessments: Computer Basics with an 85% or higher, Internet Basics with an 85% or higher, and Windows 10 with a 75% or higher. Participants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass basic computer, reading and math assessments, and develop a service plan with a career coach. Has internet access and a computer or laptop (if not, this will be addressed during enrollment)

Curriculum

This program contains 6 courses, including topics in using Python to interact with the operating system, using Git and GitHub, troubleshooting and debugging techniques, configuration management, the Cloud, and automating real-world tasks with Python.
