This training program is designed to give participants basic skills and knowledge for an automotive certificate or an entry-level position in automotive maintenance.

Delivery Method
Interest Assessment using an Automotive Fundamentals VR class Hands-on classroom job training
Duration
2 weeks (or until VR module is completed) and/or 4 weeks Mon-Fri 9am-2:30pm
Prerequisites & Assessments
Valid ID, pass basic math and reading assignments, Northstar, O*Net and CASAS tests, 18 years or older, an interest and motivation to work in automotives, some basic automotive knowledge (provided by VR training)
Complete interview with automotive maintenance directors after talking with career coach/going through VR classes
Curriculum
Transfr VR Automotive Fundamentals Once you complete the VR module and the interview, participants will move through 3 levels of technicians. In level 1, the participant just needs to have a valid interest and motivation to stick with the program long term and have some basic automotive knowledge. Next, level 2 includes learning how to change tires, change doors, change oil, etc. Finally, level 3 moves on to more advanced topics such as replacing parts, rebuilding different parts, etc.
