Employment Outlook

O*NET Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers.

Delivery Method

In-Person classroom and laboratory instruction. Hands-on experience with tools, materials, and blueprints. Includes OSHA 10 Safety, Construction Math, Hand & Power Tool, Blueprint Reading, Basic Rigging, Material Handling and Weatherization

Duration

4 weeks, 5 days per week, total of 100 hours 3 concurrent class sessions, graduating 300 students annually

Prerequisites & Assessments

18 Years of age, no open criminal charges, ability and willingness to work in outdoor environmental conditions. Good hand to eye coordination. NorthStar, O*NET, Basic Timed Typing
