Editor's Note 主編的話 With both the Chinese Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day falling in February this year, it is a month full of celebration. Also included is the official schedule for the 2014 China LPGA Tour (revised from the last issue) which has expanded its tour calendar compared to 2013, further proof of the increasing popularity of the China LPGA. At the recent World Ladies Championship press conference in Shenzhen, Fore Girls met with the General Manager of the China LPGA Tour and Tournament Director of the Ladies European Tour, Jennifer Lee and Yvonne Cassidy respectively to gather their thoughts on this year’s tournament. I look forward to closer ties between all of us in raising the profile of the LPGA and CLPGA together with bringing the latest golf news to our readers, hence promoting the sport of golf. Her father Petr Korda, the last man from the Czech Republic to win a grand slam title at the Australian Open in 1998 was an outstanding tennis player on the ATP Tour. Her mother Regina was also a former professional tennis player. With the sporting gene in the family, it was inevitable that the young Jessica Korda, the eldest of three siblings would become involved in sports. It would not have been a surprise had Jessica followed in her parents footsteps as a professional tennis player given the family background. However, Jessica chose a different path in which to continue the family name in the world of professional sports.

高壇小公主 如果你是網球迷，對「科達」這個姓氏一定不會感到陌生，傑西卡 ‧ 科達 (Jessica Korda) 的父親是 著名捷克職業網球手皮特 ‧ 科達 (Petr Korda)，他是 ATP 世界巡迴賽的傑出球手，1998 年曾拿下 澳洲網球公開賽冠軍，是至今最後一位贏得大滿貫賽事的捷克球手，她的母親蕾吉娜同樣是前職業網 球手。出生於體育世家，雙親都是職業運動員，即使傑西卡會投身體育界，繼承他們的衣缽也不足為 奇，可是她卻選擇了不同的運動領域發展，在高壇延續「科達」家族的名聲。

of Golf
Florence Yuen, current Head Golf Professional and HKPGA Professional at the SkyCity Nine Eagles Golf Course in Hong Kong has been in the world of golf for many years. However, before she landed at SkyCity to become its resident golf professional, Florence was travelling the world exploring opportunities. At the age of eighteen, Florence applied for a two month training program to become a flight attendant for Japan Airlines. Their training program at the time was considered one of the most rigorous with over a thousand applicants and for Florence, her determination and competitiveness to not only successfully enroll but pass the application process was without question. These aspects of her personality would later prove essential in her future career. 向更遠目標 邁進 袁芝韻 (Florence)，現任 Nine Eagles 航天城 高爾夫球場總教練兼香港職業高爾夫球協會會 員，擁有多年高爾夫教學和實踐經驗，決定擔任 高爾夫教練前，她曾為了發掘機會周遊列國。 十八歲那年，她報名參加了為期兩個月的空姐訓 練課程，更成功加入日本航空投身空姐行列。當 時所參加的訓練計劃可算是行內最嚴謹的課程之 一，儘管如此，參加人數依然多達一千人以上， 堅毅好勝的 Florence 當然不會滿足於單單被計 劃取錄，更希望通過訓練成為空姐，這種個性對 她往後的事業發展有很大幫助。當了空姐一段時 間後，發覺這並不是她所追求的終身職業，於是 決定往外闖，尋找屬於自己的道路，離開日航後 遠赴英國留學，取得商科學士學位，雖然始終未 能適應當地不穩的天氣，但她依然享受留學生活 為她帶來的寶貴經驗。

望其名思其義 Pomme 在法文的意思是「蘋果」，店名源於 Tracy 母親對蘋果批的喜愛。她又 十分重情，特意將泡芙命名為 Angelina，與她於巴黎實習的咖啡店同名。店內的招牌 紙杯蛋糕 (Signature Cupcakes) 更是以前為家中新年聚會所參加的小朋友而設。縱 然現實帶給她的挑戰是食材價格浮動、市場競爭、維持客源，但她還是想在附近多開一 家店，讓更多人能分享她對親手做餅的一份熱愛。 她又回想起曾經見過小孩子會先呵護動物造型的糖果再吃，感動不已。從她閃爍的 眼神中，餅師的願償了，他們所需要的，就只是吃的人會認同廚師對食物的珍愛。 也許，一個簡單的早晨，睡醒了，手邊一本書來到 Pomme，呷一杯咖啡、嚐一件 特別的 Fraoula 或 Coco，就是都市人渴慕的週末開始。

Then, there is the question of red or white wine. Typically, you’ll hear or read that red is the wine that provides the health benefits more so than white. Before everyone decides to drink copious amounts of wine, remember that over-indulging in anything is not advisable. However, moderation is the key. A moderate consumption of red wine can help to clear the arteries and therefore reduce the risk of heart failure. Studies have suggested that drinking wine can reduce the risk of diabetes, stroke liver disease, dementia and some forms of cancer like prostate and breast cancer. Interestingly enough, apparently drinking wine reduces the risk of being diagnosed with depression i.e. those who drink wine are happier. Studies have been carried out to suggest this correlation but surely as anyone who has the occasional or frequent drink will tell you, one is always merrier after a glass or two. Do we really need a study to prove the obvious? Apart from resveratrol that apparently helps to improve lifespan, the University of London conducted research that showed high levels of procyanidins, a compound found in red wine that keeps blood vessels healthy. Also the research showed that traditional methods of making wine produced much higher levels of procyanidins.
