Do you dream of starting your own business one day? Want to take your lemonade stand, cookie booth, or jewelry shop to the next level? We’ve got just the workshop for you! Learn how to find opportunities, build business solutions, and shift your entrepreneurial thinking into overdrive. You will work alongside other Girl Scouts to plan future enterprises – everything from creative cookie sales strategies to the business of your dreams. The choice is yours! Girl Scout Juniors through Ambassadors are invited to learn about entrepreneurship at our one-day interactive workshops. Earn your age level Entrepreneurship badge at a regional workshop near you. You’ll also get a copy of the book Who Owns the Ice House?, a certificate for completing the Ice House Entrepreneurship Program, opportunities to meet local entrepreneurs, and more. Lunch and badge are included. Workshops hosted in partnership with local entrepreneurs and NC IDEA. Bonus! Parents, grandparents, guardians, aunts, uncles, and other adults in your circle are welcome to attend, too. Local Small Business Centers are hosting concurrent workshops for family and friends 18 and older. Adults must remain onsite; this is not a drop off event. Choose between attending your own workshop or serving as an adult chaperone for the Girl Scout workshop. At the workshop, you will get a roadmap for building your business idea. The roadmap culminates in creating a display and presentation to showcase your work. Between January and April 2024, you can participate in a virtual prep session to help you showcase and pitch your idea using the roadmap. Then, you’re challenged to tap into your self-esteem and rock your confidence by pitching your idea in front of fellow Girl Scouts, entrepreneurs, family, and friends at the NextGen Business Fair on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Cape Fear Community College. Girl Scouts who participate in the NextGen Business Fair will receive an event patch. There is no additional fee to participate in the business fair. You do not have to participate in the business fair to attend the workshop. At least three individuals will be selected to pitch their idea on the main stage.
