ras un rápido análisis de la última temporada veraniega en Marbella, es indiscutible la apreciación de la administración, hoteleros, restauradores y comerciantes, “es que este año ha habido más gente”, pero también son de la opinión que este aumento de la ocupación en la temporada alta no ha repercutido en caja, es decir se ha facturado menos. Quizás la política turística de nuestra ciudad necesita un plan de comercialización turística más exigente y selectivo para evitar el turismo Lowcost. Una solución sería acelerar y activar lo antes posible el turismo residencial que es menos estacional y aporta riqueza a mas sectores económicos, como a la pequeña industria, servicios profesionales, comercio tradicional, etc. Pero por desgracia esta solución depende básicamente del nuevo Plan General Urbanístico de Marbella y parece que va para largo.

Estos meses otoñales se caracterizan por la disminución del protagonismo de la playa y llegada de más eventos culturales. Especialmente resaltan en estos próximos meses la Feria de San Pedro Alcántara, la nueva edición de Marbella 4 Days Walking, la nueva temporada de Ópera de Cine Teatro Goya, el II Salón del Manga “Marbecon” y la Feria del Hogar de la Costa del Sol en el Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Marbella, temporada de Teatro en el Auditorio Felipe VI de Estepona, y como siempre exposiciones, excursiones y mucho más. fter a rapid analysis of the past summer season in Marbella, the comment made by the Corporation, hoteliers, restaurant and shop owners is indisputable “there were more people this year”, but they are also of the opinion that this increased occupation in high season was not reflected in the takings, or in other words, earnings were less. Perhaps our town’s tourism policy needs a more demanding and selective marketing plan, to avoid the low-cost sector. One solution would be to accelerate and activate residential tourism as soon as possible, which is less seasonal and brings more rewards to the business sectors such as small industry, professional services, traditional trade, etc. But unfortunately this solution mainly depends on the new Master Urban Plan for Marbella and this looks like it will be taking its time. These months of Autumn are characterised by the beach being less in the limelight and the arrival of more cultural events. Exposición Temporal “Matta. Entre Mundos”. Roberto Matta es uno de los artistas internacionales de mayor influencia en la cultura del siglo XX y XXI. La exposición muestra la faceta de grabador de este artista. Las series “Hom’mère”, “Carné Amont”, “L’Arc Obscur des Heures”, “La Araucana” y “Verbo América” son algunas de las que tienen presencia en ella. 31 grabados a los que acompaña un óleo del artista. Esta construcción se encuentra enclavada en el centro histórico de la ciudad y es la única que se ha conservado de la época musulmana. La medina de Marbella fue una de las ciudades más importantes de la “Rayya” (provincia de Málaga). La Marbella amurallada de los musulmanes abarcaba aproximadamente una superficie de 90.000 metros2. Sobre esta reducida área se extendería una trama de estrechas callejas, que todavía hoy conserva su trazado. This construction is set in the historic centre of the town and it is the only one conserved from the muslim era. YACIMIENTOS ARQUEOLÓGICOS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES

Basílica Paleocristiana Vega del Mar (San Pedro) (s. IV). Rodeada por una necrópolis visigoda con más de 180 enterramientos de distinta tipología. Única en la Península Ibérica. Bóvedas o Termas de Guadalmina (San Pedro) (s. II-III). A 500 m de la Basílica. Además de su uso higiénico, eran un punto de reunión social. Villa Romana de Río Verde (Marbella) (s. I). Edificada como finca rústica en la que se desarrollaban actividades agropecuarias, en especial la fabricación del garum, pasta de diversos pescados cuyo precio alcazaba cifras exorbitantes en Roma. Monumento declarado Bien de Interés Cultural por la Junta de Andalucía, y protegido con el máximo nivel en el Patrimonio Histórico Andaluz.

Ubicado en el Palacio de Villalón, en pleno centro histórico, la colección permanente está compuesta por unas 230 obras que recorren el arte del siglo XIX español, con especial atención a la pintura andaluza (los malagueños Gómez Gil, Moreno Carbonero o Barrón conviven con pintores de la talla de Zurbarán, Sorolla, Zuloaga o Romero de Torres).

ace cuatro años, justo cuando empezábamos como asociación, comenzamos una campaña de sensibilización con múltiples actividades que se fueron sucediendo en el tiempo para que la ciudadanía y nuestros políticos comprendieran y se concienciaran sobre este vestigio único de nuestro pasado minero. Celebramos charlas con expertos en la historia de la minería en Marbella, organizamos travesías en piraguas alrededor de ella, escribimos numerosos artículos de opinión en nuestra web o documentos a Demarcación de Costas para exigirles su rehabilitación, presentamos una propuesta de revisión de este bien patrimonial al catálogo municipal de Bienes y Espacios Protegidos de Marbella o participamos con una actividad en las jornadas municipales de Patrimonio Industrial donde la completamos diseñando un cartel informativo que hoy se encuentra en la playa, frente a la Torre que nos ayuda a dar a conocer su valor patrimonial y su historia.

El Cargadero Marítimo de Mineral de la playa del Cable, o más conocido como el Poste del Cable o Torre del Cable, es mucho más que un patrimonio de nuestro paisaje industrial que supuso la minería en Marbella, la Torre del Cable reúne la singularidad de ser, además lo anterior, un recurso medioambiental, turístico y etnológico. También tiene un gran valor medioambiental y turístico por lo que encierra en sus profundidades, ya que alberga algunas especies marinas protegidas y otras endémicas y es un lugar habitual para la práctica del buceo deportivo con equipos de buceo autónomo para clubes y particulares. La práctica del buceo tiene un interés añadido al existir un pecio en el fondo; un barco pesquero de metal hundido hace más de 20 años. A eso añadimos el valor ambiental en su parte emergida como posadero o dormidero para muchas aves marinas de interés.

Etnológicamente tiene mucho valor porque forma parte de la tradición de la Fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen, una fiesta de tradición marinera, que como muchos pueblos costeros de España, se celebra el 16 de julio, festividad de la Virgen y patrona del mar y que en Marbella tiene una particularidad: en el fondo del Poste del Cable se encuentra sumergida a doce metros de profundidad, en una especie de ermita construida para tal fin, su Virgen marinera que es sacada una vez al año. En la Torre del Cable han empezado las obras para una primera intervención, algo por los que lo que pocos apostaban. Pero lo más importante es que hoy la Torre del Cable, es un icono de la ciudad, algo nuestro que tenemos claro que debemos conservar. Por ese motivo, le damos las gracias a la Delegación de Sostenibilidad por estar detrás para que esto sucediera y

a Demarcación de Costas por estos primeros trabajos de rehabilitación. Esto de la recuperación del patrimonio es una labor de todos: de la sociedad civil que tenemos que concienciar y de las administraciones que tienen que cumplir con la recuperación y conservación de todo tipo de patrimonio. Y en el caso de la Torre del Cable ese binomio necesario ha funcionado. Aunque queda mucho por delante, esto es un buen comienzo. En la vida tengo mucha suerte, mi destino comenzó al final de una era y al comienzo de otra maravillosa. Un número sexual y el año en que se pisó la Luna. Realmente, los de la generación del 69, no pertenecemos ni a una ni a otra, sino a las dos. La suerte de ser de la “generación bisagra”.
