Dopo un paio d’anni di stop dovuto al Covid, siamo finalmente tornati in Patagonia Argentina, paese che ha pagato a caro prezzo con un lungo lockdown la recente pandemia. Cambio di aereo a Buenos Aires per El Calafate ed eccoci nel nuovo lodge della Famiglia Alba sulle rive del Jiurassic lake. Il lodge, di proprietà di Estancia laguna Verde, la realtà più importante che organizza la pesca nel Jiurassic lake, è stato costruito da poco tempo nella parte di lago meno accessibile e fino a poco tempo fa praticamente impescata. La struttura ha la stessa qualità della sua gemella sull’altra sponda del lago, stesso standard di cibo e servizio e 3 camere doppie che possono essere usate come singole. Qui la pesca è sempre guidata e i ragazzi locali fanno di tutto per rendervi la settimana più divertente e interessante possibile. Credo che chi ha viaggiato molto sarà d’accordo

con me nell’affermare che le guide argentine sono da sempre le migliori per professionalità e disponibilità. Da questo lodge si può raggiungere il Barrancoso, unico affluente del lago, con un trasferimento di poco più di un’ora, lo stesso vale per le numerose lagune, ottima alternativa in caso di vento troppo aggressivo. L’organizzazione è impeccabile come del resto anche negli altri lodge della proprietà. Ottimo asado e buon vino non mancano mai, così come la professionalità di tutti gli addetti del lodge. La scelta di questo nuovo lodge però è dovuta alla pesca che, da quanto ci dice Luciano il proprietario del lodge, è ottima, non essendoci molta pressione da almeno due anni. Sono passati ormai alcuni anni dalla prima volta in cui andai al Jiurassic lake e la voglia di ritrovare le condizioni dei primi viaggi, quando queste trote enormi venivano a mangiare a

After a lull of a couple of years due to Covid, we were finally back in Argentinian Patagonia, a country that has paid dearly for the recent pandemic with a long lockdown. We changed plane in Buenos Aires to go to El Calafate and there we were in the new lodge owned by the Alba Family on the banks of the Jurassic Lake. The lodge, which belongs to Estancia Laguna Verde, the most important company that organizes fishing trips on the Jurassic Lake, had been recently built in the less accessible part of the lake, and was practically unfished then. The property has the same quality as its twin on the other side of the lake, the same standard of food and service and 3 double rooms that can be used as single ones. Fishing is always guided here, and the local guys do everything to make the week as enjoyable and interesting as possible. I believe that those who

have travelled a lot will agree with me in stating that Argentine guides have always been the best in terms of professionalism and availability. From this lodge you can reach the Barrancoso, the only tributary of the lake, with a transfer of just over an hour. The same goes for the numerous lagoons, an excellent alternative in case of too aggressive winds. The organization is as impeccable as in the other lodges of the property. Excellent asado and good wine are never lacking, as also the professionalism of all the employees of the lodge. Inoltre non sono mai andato nel mese di novembre che dicono sia perfetto per l’affluente Barrancoso, che ha molta più acqua e facilita la risalita delle trote iridee dal lago. Tutte le aspettative sono state soddisfatte nonostante il vento, questo luogo infatti non è affrontabile con code del 6 o 7, ma occorre avere pesi e profili in grado di tagliare il vento. Anche alcune canne per code 7, 8 con code skagit da 400 grains e running integrata hanno lavorato molto bene e con un polyleader in punta da 8,10 piedi per addolcire la posa ci hanno messo in condizioni di pescare a secca con grosse mosche. E’ un lago che non finisce mai di stupire per la dimensione incredibile delle trote e soprattutto per la sua bellezza, due ragioni che lo rendono una meta da non perdere.
