GUIDELINES on BIRTHDAY PARTIES HELD in SCHOOL THIRD REPOST FOR REITERATION

The school welcomes birthday parties held inside the school premises. For strict compliance, the following set of guidelines will be enforced this school year: 1.

Seek for an APPROVAL from the Office of the Student Affairs. OSA will then issue the concerned party a PERMIT which shall automatically become the GATE PASS or ENTRY PASS.

2.

If the birthday celebration (on the day) entails distribution of simple snacks or simple foods that include: a. Ice Cream or Cornetto b. Packed Snacks in a Party Bag; c. Hamburger and tetra-pack juice d. Siopao and tetra-pack juice e. Simple Fastfood Meal (e.g. Jollibee, Shakey’s, Bigg’s, McDonald’s) that includes spaghetti with/out chicken and drinks packed in styrofor this should be done in the School’s MultiPurpose Center during recess time ONLY. Hence, NO DISTRIBUTION of FOOD WILL BE DONE INSIDE THE CLASSROOM. The above-mentioned foods must be ready for distribution in the MPC 10 minutes before the class’s scheduled recess time. For convenience purposes, after class hours is the best time. Maintain the MPC’s cleanliness and 5s during and after the distribution.

3. If the birthday celebration entails a birthday program with foods to be brought to school, whether from a caterer or foods from fast food chain, the following guidelines must be observed: a. The program must be held on a FRIDAY at the NEW School Play Center, 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon. Hence, THE CLASSROOM IS NOT ALLOWED. b. A minimal *BCF (Birthday Celebration Fee) will be asked and is paid at the school cashier. Since it will be done after class, the concerned party must present or give an invitation to all his/her child’s classmates so that fetchers and/or parents/guardians are aware of the time their ward is to be fetched. c. Observe cleanliness and 5S during and after the event.

Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-IRIGA) conducts Fire, Earthquake Drill in HCEC To generate the highest level of awareness among the public on Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adaptations (DRR/CCA) concerns and to assess the capacity level of the school and the community in the eventuality of disasters and emergencies, HCECi Main Campus conducted the School Earthquake and Fire Drill this morning. The drill was carried out by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Iriga City), in partnership with the Scouting Movement Coordinator, Mr. Dominico T. Bagacina through his Boy and Girl Scouts of the Philippines Officers/Members. In DepEd Order No. 48, s. 2012 enclosure No. 2, the guidelines on How to Conduct an Earthquake Drill in Schools were stipulated. Phases of an Earthquake Drill: 1. Alarm. During the drill, the 1-minute alarm indicates earthquake or shaking. 2. Response. While the alarm is ongoing, everyone should perform “duck, cover and hold”. Remain in this position until the “shaking” stops. 3. Evacuation. As soon as the shaking stops, immediately evacuate the school building and proceed to identified evacuation areas using the pre-determined routes guided by the class marshall or teacher. 4. Assembly. At the designated evacuation area, students must be grouped together according to the class they belong. 5. Head Count. Teachers should check and make sure all students are accounted for. 6. Evaluation. The over-all coordinator will announce the termination of drill or “All Clear”. An evaluation of the drill must be conducted to identify problems encountered during the drill and how these can be improved in future earthquake drills.

HCECi BSP, GSP to attend Disaster Preparedness Seminar tomorrow In continuation with the activity on Earthquake and Fire Drill, the Boy and Girl Scouts of the Philippines – HCECi Chapter will attend the Disaster Preparedness Seminar tomorrow, July 26, 2014 from 7:30 am to 12:00 am at the HCECi grounds. This seminar aims to train the scouts to be prepared during disaster and share this learning to the primary pupils. The scouts will also organize the Disaster Management Team of the school. Members of the BSP and GSP are encouraged to participate in the abovementioned activity, as such will be part of their advancement requirements. A letter and the parents’ consent were already given to the scouts.

CONGRATULATIONS, HCECians!!!

FROM THE DEPARTMENT of EDUCATION Jr. HIGH SCHOOL DEP’T HCECi GUIDANCE, OSA TO CONDUCT CAREER GUIDANCE for HCECi HIGH SCHOOL Since we are in the 21st Century, it has become obvious that all students need career guidance, not just those entering the world of work directly from high school. HCECi opens its door to offering a program through its Guidance and Junior High School Activity Centers. On its second year of complete high school, Holy Child Educational Center, Incorporated will be conducting its initial activity on CAREER ADVOCACY PROGRAM which is coupled with awareness to be wellinformed of the existing career opportunities that can provide guidance needed by our high school students in the choice of a career. Anchored from the Enclosure to DepEd Order No. 25, s. 2013 entitled “General Guidelines in the Conduct of Career Guidance Week for High School Students Effective SY 2013-2014, the program is envisioned to prevent too much waste of resources including time being spent in producing graduates in the tertiary level as well as in technical vocational education who could not meet the qualification standards in the labor market. Mismatch between 1) interests/aptitude and career; 2) career and labor demand; and, 3) education/training and career results from uninformed and misguided students. The topic or theme of this activity program is GUIDING YOUTH
