Tomorrow, Sept. 6 is Bloodletting Day 2014 The Blood Program of the Philippines operates in accordance with the provisions of the National Blood Services Act of 1994 or Republic Act (RA) 7719. Hence, the SUPREME PUPIL AND STUDENT GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS, in partnership with the HCECI PTAEXECUTIVE BOARD OFFICERS AND LEVEL REPRESENTATIVES, would like

to invite one or more members of your family and relatives to be part of our project, “DUGO MO BUHAY KO, DUGO KO BUHAY MO” - a bloodletting activity, by becoming a blood donor on September 6, 2014 (Saturday) from 8:00 in the morning onwards which will be held at the HCECi Multi-purpose Center. The first and foremost advantage of donating blood is the exalted

feeling of saving one’s life. If we donate the little excess of blood in our body, it can save someone’s life without creating any problem to us. Blood donation is the most valued service to mankind. Nothing is comparable to the preciousness of human blood. The gift of blood is the gift of life. Blood cannot be manufactured. It can come from generous donors. See you tomorrow, HCECians!!!

HCECi DLC, FB, Minorettes WOW AUDIENCE at the 46th IRIGA CITY CHARTER ANNIVERSARY In celebration of this year’s 46th Charter Foundation Anniversary of the city of Iriga, TEAM HCECi joined the parade last September 3, 2014 at 10:00 in the morning. This civic involvement of Holy Child Educational Center, Inc. has always been an expression of support and collaboration to the thrusts and programs of the city government for the general welfare of the Irigueños. By virtue of a Presidential Proclamation declaring TUESDAY, 3 September 2014, as a SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY in the City of Iriga, whereas, in order to give the people of City of Iriga the opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion, it is but fitting and proper to declare September 3, as a special nonworking day, Holy Child Educatio-

nal Center, Inc. participated in the civic and military parade. One of the crowd’s favorites was the performance given by the school’s Drum and Lyre Corps, together with the HCECi Flag Bearers and Minorettes. This has been possible because of the collaborative efforts given by the school staff, trainers, teaching and nonteaching staff and the parents. 

OPEN MIC Season 5, Open to ALL Part of the exciting celebration of the Literacy Month is the Open Mic. What is this? On an assigned day this month, SEPTEMBER until the school year ends, there will be pupils and/or students who will be reciting their favorite and well-mastered literary piece, be it a poem, an oration, a short story, a fable, a parable, or a declamation piece. So, what are you waiting for? Enlist yourselves to Sir MELVIN C. FEDERIS or to any of your English teachers and earn 5 CCP points if you will pass the screening using rubrics and standards. Ever since, the school implements the PointSystem in the Co-Curricular Participation of the pupils and students. And there have been modifications and changes to suit the demands of the different concerns and issues regarding Academic-Related Activities and Co-Curricular Performance. Under PARTICIPATION to THEMATIC PROGRAM without COMPETITION, here are the specific guidelines. 1. The monthly highlights within the school year bring presentations which will be staged in the MPC. Participants to this presentation undergo first classroom-based eliminations. 2. The selected participant, whether solo, dual or group presentations now conduct regular practices. 3. Since it is not a competition, participants to the monthly highlight may present more than two presentations but will only comprise a SINGLE PRESENTATION. Meaning, no matter how many presentation a pupil participates in the monthly highlight, he/she gets the set CCP points for PARTICIPATION to THEMATIC PROGRAM without COMPETITION which is equivalent to 2 points for individual or 3 points for group presentation. 4. If the pupil has participated both as an individual or group presenter, he/she gets the higher CCP points, 3 points. 5. Additional 1 point is given as finalist during the classroom-based screening. 6. Maximum CCP points that a pupil can get whether he/she has presented several performances in the monthly highlights =

4 points.

PLEASE REFER TO THE CO-CURRICULAR PERFORMANCE POINT CHART POSTED IN PB VOL 9 ISSUE NO. 2, PAGE 5 FOR MORE SPECIFIC DETAILS. FOR INQUIRIES, PLEASE SET AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE HEAD OF STUDENT AFFAIRS THROUGH THE SECRETARY TO THE SCHOOL HEADS. REPLY SLIP
