did a ballerina hop and landed in front of me sideways with the driver's head hanging out the window unconscious. I looked in the mirror and in the approaching distance I saw car lights approaching like racing horses nearing the winning post and the only outsider was this unconscious driver in their path. Realising the man was in deadly danger I aim my car to the rear with lights on as well as hazards, so if the cars coming downing the N1 cannot knock the driver's head but rather my car and then my car will hit the driver's car in the back end but will avoid the injured already driver. I then jumped out and with the help of other drivers whose cars were safely parked next to the roadside, with a big struggle pulled the injured driver out of his car. Just at that moment the first car struck my car and my car as planned it knocked into the rear back end of the injured driver's car and then the next car slammed into that car and so the dominos fell. In my effort to pull out the driver I strained my neck. A breakdown driver who knew me hooked up my car and with me in the passenger’s seat went to work I think I am the first Railway Policeman to arrive on duty in a breakdown bakkie with my car hooked up behind. I booked off sick was taken home. No medals, no citations, no letters of praise no mention in the media but I knew my actions saved a life maybe a son, a father but that stranger came home alive and he owes me nothing.
