MEDIÇÃO DO FLUXO NO CORDÃO UMBILICAL POR ECO DOPPLER - FLUXOMETRIA MEASUREMENT BY ULTRASOUND DOPPLER, OF THE BLOOD FLOW IN THE UMBILICAL CORD - FLOWMETRY

O
estudo foi desenvolvido para a obtenção do grau de licenciatura por parte da Ana Patrício em Imagem Médica e Radioterapia, na Escola superior de Saúde da UAlg e teve como objetivo major conhecer a relação entre os valores obtidos na fluxometria do cordão umbilical e os valores da tensão arterial e hábitos de vida (atividade física e tabagismo), em mulheres com 20 ou mais semanas de gestação. Do estudo participaram 104 mulheres, concluindo-se existir uma correlação negativa entre a tensão arterial da grávida e o fluxo arterial do cordão umbilical. Segundo a literatura, a prática de atividade física e o tabagismo poderão influenciar a circulação umbilical, contudo neste estudo não foi observada uma associação significativa entre esses fatores. A investigação desenvolveu-se na Maternidade do HPA Gambelas, tendo contado com a colaboração da sua diretora, Dr.ª Ivone Lobo e dos ginecologistas/ obstetras João Alves, Marta Sobral e Oriana Leça. Os orientadores por parte da Universidade do Algarve foram os Profs. António Abrantes, Luís Ribeiro e Sónia Rodrigues.

his study was initiated by Ana Patrício in obtaining her Degree in Medical Image and Radiotherapy, from the Algarve University (Ualg) and had as its main objective to understand the relationship between the results obtained in the flowmetry of the umbilical cord and the blood pressure results obtained in pregnant women in the 20th or more weeks of gestation in everyday life (physical activity and smoking). Participating in this study were 104 women, and the conclusion is that there is a negative correlation between the pregnant woman's blood pressure and the blood flow in the umbilical cord. According to various publications, physical activity and smoking may influence umbilical circulation, however, in this study, no significant association was observed between these factors. This research was carried out at the Maternity Unit of the Gambelas Hospital, with the collaboration of its Director, Dr Ivone Lobo and the Gynaecologists / Obstetricians Dr João Alves, Dr Marta Sobral and Dr Oriana Leça. The supervisors were Profs. António Abrantes, Luís Ribeiro and Sónia Rodrigues from the Algarve University (UALg).
