its long diverse history, significant geographical location, and moderate climate, the Land of the Nile offers travelers many activities to do, a lot of places to view and explore, and numerous regions to visit.

The Western Desert of Egypt, located between the Nile Valley and the edge of the Great African desert, is among the areas in Egypt that are still less visited and explored in comparison with other regions like Cairo, Sinai, the North Coast, and Upper Egypt.

Fifteen years ago, in the beginning of the 3rd millennium in particular, the Western Desert of Egypt started attracting the attention of Egyptian and international travelers, especially after the Egyptian government developed the road going from Cairo to the oasis located in the Western Desert.

‫يتبىق أمامنا مفردتان (النسوي والنسايئ)‬ ‫والنسوة والنساء محع ‪ :‬املرأة ‪ ,‬فلكا املفردتني‬ ‫صاحلة ألداء املعىن املقصود ‪ ,‬لكن املمجع يضيف‬ ‫إىل معىن (النساء) إضافة ترحج علهيا مفردة‬ ‫(النسوة) ذلك أن (النساء) يكون مجعا لملرأة ‪,‬‬ ‫إذا كرثت النساء ‪ ,‬ومن مث آثرنا اختيار مفردة‬ ‫(النسوة) مضافا إلهيا ياء النسب ‪( :‬النسوي)‬

‫وامللحوظ أن جتليات ما بعد احلداثة قد أخلصت‬ ‫عنايهتا للنص بوصفه منطقة اجلذب اليت تشد‬ ‫املتليق العام واخلاص إلهيا ‪ ,‬ومن مث اجتهت‬ ‫نظريات القراءة إىل مالحقة مكونات هذا النص‬ ‫يف وحداته الصوتية إفرادا وتركيبا ‪ ,‬ومنتجاته‬ ‫الداللية بأنساقها اخلارجية والداخلية‪.‬‬

‫ومن الواحض أن الكتابة يف هذه املنطقة الثقافية‬ ‫قد تعامظت يف مرحلة احلداثة وما بعدها ‪,‬‬ ‫واكنت اخلطوة األوىل يه هز الثقة يف مجموع‬ ‫الثنائيات ‪ ,‬وإدخاهلا دائرة األحادية ‪ ,‬وهو ما أدى‬ ‫تلقائيا إىل تداخل اهلوامش واملتون ‪ ,‬فأصبحت‬ ‫األنوثة امتدادا للذكورة ‪ ,‬وأصبح النقد امتدادا‬ ‫لإلبداع ‪ ,‬وأصبح التداويل امتدادا للصايف ‪.‬‬

‫وقد ساعد عىل ذلك أن القراءة احلداثية ‪ ,‬وما بعد‬ ‫احلداثية وضعت (النص) يف نطاق (البنية) وحبمك‬ ‫هذا الوضع أخذت فكرة األنواع يف التاليش ‪,‬‬ ‫وأخذ التداخل الزماين واملاكين والنويع يسود‬ ‫سيادة شبه مطلقة ‪ ,‬والشك أن ذلك لكه اكن رد‬ ‫فعل عنيف عىل العشوائية القرائية اليت سادت‬ ‫فميا قبل احلداثة ‪ ,‬ويه العشوائية اليت أخضعت‬ ‫النص ملرجعيات فرضت هيلع من خارجه ‪ ,‬ومن‬ ‫هذه املرجعيات (ثنائية الذكورة واألنوثة)‬

‫وقد ساعدت احلراكت النسوية عىل حتطمي بعض‬ ‫هذه الثنائيات ‪ ,‬وخباصة ثنائية (األنوثة والذكورة)‬ ‫مث جتاوزت هذه احلراكت منطقة التحطمي‬ ‫لتستخلص أكرب مساحة ممكنة لتحتلها املرأة يف‬ ‫جماالت احلياة معوما ‪ ,‬وجمال اإلبداع والفن‬ ‫خصوصا ‪ ,‬مسهتدفة معادلة املايض باحلارض ‪,‬‬ ‫فظمل املرأة يف املايض البد أن يوازيه إعالء هلا‬ ‫يف احلارض ‪ ,‬بل إعالء هلا يف اآليت أيضا ‪ ,‬ومن‬ ‫مث ظهرت مقولة "إن املستقبل مؤنث"‬

‫ويف سعينا إىل أفق األدب النسوي ‪ ,‬اكن من‬ ‫الرضوري حترير املصطلح بعيدا عن بعض‬ ‫املقاربات اليت وسعت أفقه ليتناول لك كتابة‬ ‫تتناول األنىث معوما‪.‬‬

‫مهناج حياتنا يف الشارع اجلامعه العمل وىف‬ ‫لك ماكن‪ .... .‬ما الذي مينعنا ان تبتسم‬ ‫ونليق حتبه الصباح عىل بعضهام البعض‬ ‫دون سابق معرفه سأقول لمك مثملا قال‬ ‫اإلعالن املهشور‪( .‬اذا اكن ده جنان أجتنن)‬

I am the 16th largest city in the world.

I am old.

I am Cairo.

They called it many names; the city of a thousand minarets, the city that never sleeps, they also call it Masr “Egypt”. With a population of around 18 million, it’s crowded and busy, that’s why it needed to expand horizontally and that’s what’s happening right now. A bunch of huge land plots in the out skirts of Cairo is now being the destination of large numbers of Cairo residents, like new Cairo,6th of October, Al-Obour, Al Shorouk & Badr.

These are the new lungs for the old city, some of them are as big as cities, and others are like big towns. This is new to Egyptians, to live or to work

Now a large sector of new properties owners (especially the younger ones) are favoring the modern architecture & interiors and that is by far a huge change, for those who don’t know Egyptians; classic designs and furniture was a must. I think it’s related to the classical history, that you can see in the old buildings and houses. But today Cairo is going modern and it’s going fast, it’s good that it’s happening outside old Cairo and I think it would be great to travel in time. Back and forth, between history and future. We’ll try to picturize that huge change in Cairo in other issues of I’m Cairo.

Understanding Diabetes

While it usually affects older adults, more and more younger people, even children, are getting type 2 diabetes.Type 1 diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, the pancreas makes some insulin but it is not produced in the amount your body needs and it does not work effectively.

Type 2 diabetes results from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Although there is a strong genetic predisposition, the risk is greatly increased when associated with lifestyle factors such as high blood pressure, overweight or obesity, insufficient physical activity, poor diet and the classic ‘apple shape’ body where extra weight is carried around the waist.

regular physical activity. However, over time most people with type 2 diabetes will also need tablets and many will also need insulin. It is important to note that this is just the natural progression of the disease, and taking tablets or insulin as soon as they are required can result in fewer complications in the long-term.

By the time diabetes is diagnosed, the complications of diabetes may already be present. Symptoms include:

The White Desert

When you leave the Nile Valley moving into the Western Desert the yellow color of the sand and the baby blue color of the sky are the dominant colors, or maybe the only two colors in this fantastic bilateral colored portrait.

Suddenly the ice white color starts entering this natural painting in the form of strange looking white rocks.

Now you know you have entered the protected area of the white desert.

Located 500 kilometers to the South West of Cairo and 30 kilometers to the North of the Farafra Oasis, the White Desert became one of the most popular touristic spots in Egypt welcoming more than 10% of the total number of travelers visiting Egypt every year.

Occupying a surface area of around 3000 kilometers, the White Desert is the most popular attraction in the Western Desert and maybe in Egypt as a whole. The White Desert even started attracting advertisings directors and it appeared in many television ads for international brands like Chevrolet.

How was the White Desert formed?

One of the theories asserts that in ancient times the White Desert and all this area around it was covered by an ocean or a huge sea. This was why all these white rocks were formed in that spot due to the white chalk of the sea.

Clear evidence that this theory might

be true is that travelers can still see some seashells inside the rocks of the mountains in the White Desert.

Another theory claimed that the rocks of the white desert are some sort of upper cretaceous rocks which belong to the Pliocene age millions of years ago. Because of erosion of these limestone rocks over the years, all these rocks gained their startling formations.

The White Desert is famous for its bizarre white rock formations with some rocks looking like stars, mushrooms, animals, objects and human beings.

Recognizing the importance of the White Desert, the Egyptian Government has announced the project of “developing the White Desert protected area”. The Italian government, participating in the project, has granted Egypt with six million pounds to enhance and develop the infrastructure, provide transportation means and equipment to manage the affairs of the protected area, and provides capacity building programs for the employees working in the administration of the protected area of the White Desert.

This governmental project will also assist the local community by establishing a special hall for the locals to present their products to the visitors. They are planning to construct a museum as well to exhibit the items found in the White Desert.

The White Desert is very near to the destination where scientists discovered the remnant of the most ancient dinosaur in the world 30 kilometers to the south of Al Farafra Oasis.

Sandboarding is a board sport similar to snowboarding. It is a recreational activity that takes place on sand dunes rather than snow-covered mountains. This boardsport has adherents throughout the world, most prevalently in desert areas or coastal areas with beach dunes.

It involves riding across or down a dune while standing with both feet strapped to a board, though some sandboarders use a board without bindings. It is less popular than snowboarding, partly because it is very difficult to build a mechanized ski lift on a sand dune, and so participants generally must walk back up to the top.

Alternatively, they may ride a dune buggy or all-terrain vehicle back to the top of the dune. On the other hand, dunes are normally available year-round as opposed to ski resorts, which are usually seasonal.

Josh Tenge, professional sandboarding champion, holds the Guinness Book of World Records entry for the longest-distance back flip at 44’ 10”. Tenge is also a four-time world sandboarding champion and holds three world records. Erik Johnson, a professional snowboarder and sandboarder, holds the Guinness World Record for Speed on a Sandboard at 51 mph (82 km/h). Unofficial speeds of 60 mph (97 km/h) have reportedly been clocked.

The concept of “Modern Visual Arts” wasn’t familiar in Egypt until the establishment of the School of Fine Arts in the early twentieth century.

The inauguration of the school, now named “The Faculty of Fine Arts”, would see a host of Egyptian talent emerge as prominent artists, whilst championing a modern revival and reverence for Egyptian heritage. It was Sir Herbert Reed, an English critic who said, “Studying heritage, forms of society and arts, and the relationship between social structures, is essential to settle on the modernization aspect we wish to pursue.”

In the same sense, Hana has grown to be an exceptional visual artist, whose inspiration to utilize and revive Egypt’s rich heritage shines through her inimitable works of art. Her work seeks to highlight intrinsic Egyptian values from the country’s cultural past, which have become rare in this day of time. The designs she created for a set of office stationery using historical symbols have advanced and modernized the Hamsa Hand, Palm Hand, Horse and Tanoura, through radiant colors that capture the essence of our modern era. These products are being exhibited at Diwan Bookstores and Um El Dounia Gallery.

If we start about the airports and city security and how it is affecting on the aviation as industry which reflecting directly to the tourism industry.

There are a lot of questions looking to have answer on it, how many x-rays machines working at the Egyptian airports? How many police officers caring about the passengers checking?

How many customs officers using x-rays to check passengers’ baggage?

How many cameras at each airport?

All above questions need some explanation because personally I am not in position to answer it.

If we start from passenger arrival to the airport, any passenger must go through x-ray for checking his

luggage’s and himself but the actual which usually happen is not a lot of x-rays machines are working well on proper way and if so usually the officer at the airport is acting on very easy way when the machine sounds, there are no restrictions at any airport for this point , if we compare biggest airports all over the world and compare Heathrow airport for example and its security we will find that easily our airports can be attacked . The difference is very easy, here in Egypt usually we have police offices untrained for the airport as special cases to know how to secure airport but in Heathrow there is no police office at all and all who are working are normal educated trained personal, I repeat trained.

For sure all the security at any airport in Europe as example under supervision from the police offices so this point also can lead us to reach solution to find huge numbers of jobs for unemployed personnel.

On the other way the x-rays machines are too old and need some modifications plus for sure every year there are a lot of new devices and machines coming on to use but we are not updated about it at our airports, for sure this need a lot of money but if this related to the airports security so as Egyptian government must look into it.

I hope one day also to have huge number of cameras at each airport, each area, to have full control on it.

Another comparison for customs clearances, we have to look into the human privacy and human rights which does not allow to any person to put his hands inside each luggage to check it, this is should be with new high technology machines and tools and used at any airport.

This point of the customers really gave

a lot of passengers and tourists bas impression and usually they get angry to check their luggage piece by piece.

All the above are disadvantages but also we have a lot of advantages we have to mention it.

At the moment we have good numbers of fully equipped airports even more than some countries but the issue is not the number but also we have good capacity for each airport to accommodate good number of passengers at same time.

Really the airports of Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor, Aswan and Cairo International airport becomes like any international airport at any point all over the world, very cleaned, equipped, improved with high navigational system, ready to receive any type of aircrafts, and followed in correct way to keep it updated daily from the authorities.

Finally the airport security and city security will effect on safety on the tourists comfortable and encouragement to come again and visit the Egyptian destinations.

Recyclobekia partners with Jumia and launches individual e-waste recycling Maya Rahal | Wamda

Today, the young startup is now offering curbside collection to individuals.

After raising awareness in universities and local communities of the importance of recycling electronic devices, the team has launched a system for collecting individuals’ e-waste. This service allows users to request e-waste pickup from their location, through the website.

In an attempt to bootstrap and offer incentives, the team set up a partnership was with Jumia Egypt, Rocket Internet’s version of Amazon in Egypt and Africa, where users can redeem coupons with the points they gather by donating their electronic waste on Recyclobekia.

This goes in the reverse direction of e-commerce platforms. “Instead of filling your cart and paying for the value of the electric or electronic goods you buy, you still fill the cart but you pay with the value of devices you own as e-waste,” says Mohamed Sehsah, CTO and Business Developer at RecycloBekia.

In a very easy process: individuals go on the site, sign up, and choose from the list of devices accepted as e-waste

by Recyclobekia. After submitting the list along with their exact address, a

representative contacts the user to set up a check-up and pick-up date.

“A car battery for example is worth 280 points, and a laptop around 180 points; when a user reaches 800 points they get a voucher worth 100 EGP [around $14.50 USD],” says Sehsah. While this might seem like a small amount, it’s more than people get by throwing their old electronics in the trash.

In the context of giving back to the community, the startup established a partnership with Resala, an Egyptian charity organization based in Cairo, to organize the assessment and pick-up of the goods. Resala representatives are trained by Recyclobekia ahead of time to evaluate the devices and report back with the points they are worth, for team members to add them to users’ accounts. “We decided to work with Resala as we want to support charity and help users by paying them for their efforts,” says Sehsah.

With intel as one of its biggest suppliers, among others notable corporations like Mobinil, Sarmadi, General Motors, ExxonMobil, and Oracle, Recyclobekia is looking towards expanding its services outside Cairo gradually in the coming months, in addition to launching a cash back system as well, in the near future.

‫يوجد العديد من التكنولوجيات لتحويل املخلفات‬ ‫و خصوصا املخلفات الزراعية اىل طاقة مثل‬ ‫حتويل املخلفات اىل غاز ميثان ‪ ,‬ميثانول ‪,‬‬ ‫ايثانول ‪ ,‬سوالر او معاجلة املخلفات حلرقها‬ ‫ىف حمارق باملصانع لتوليد الطاقة بشلك‬ ‫مبارش او توليد الكهرباء باستخدام مولدات‬ ‫البخار ‪.‬‬ ‫من امه املشالك املستوطنة ىف مرصىه‬ ‫املخلفات الصلبة و خصوصا الزراعية و حرقها‬ ‫هو السبب الرئيىس للحسابة السودة ىف‬ ‫مساء مرص‪.‬‬

‫موخرا يمت معاجلة املخلفات الزراعية و‬ ‫املرفوضات لتصل اىل درجة رطوبة التزيد‬ ‫عن ‪ % 15‬و قمية حرارية ‪ 3300‬كيلو اكلورى‬ ‫و جحم حبد اقىص ‪ 3‬مس‪ 3‬الستخدامها ىف‬ ‫توليد الطاقة ىف املصانع ‪.‬‬ ‫تستخدم هذة التكنولوجيا االن ىف بعض‬ ‫مصانع االمسنت لتوليد الطاقة االزمة لالنتاج‬ ‫وال تقترص هذة التكنولوجيا عىل مصانع‬ ‫االمسنت فقط و امنا تصلح ملختلف الصناعات‬ ‫امهها صناعة الورق و المساد و غريها من‬ ‫الصناعات االخرى الىت حتتاج اىل طاقة‬ ‫كثيفة بالنسبة لصناعة االمسنت يوجد ىف‬ ‫مرص حاليا ‪ 16‬مصنع موزعني عىل مستوى‬ ‫امجلهورية‪ ,‬يستخدمهذة التكنولوجيا ‪ 8‬مصانع‬ ‫فقط و متثل من ‪ 10‬اىل ‪ ٪25‬حبد اقىص من‬ ‫الطاقة املسهتلكة ىف املصنع يوحض الشلك‬ ‫احتياج بعض املصانع ىف سنة ‪2013‬‬

‫لو مت معل اسرتاتيجية و حث مصانع االمسنت‬ ‫الستخدام هذة التكنولوجيا مكصدر للطاقة و‬ ‫للحفاظ عىل البيئة حيث ان هذة التكنولوجيا‬ ‫ينتج عهنا غازات ‪ CO2‬اقل من املازوت و‬ ‫السوالر املستخدم حاليا مكا ان ناجت حرق‬ ‫املخلفات الزراعية يمت استخدامة ىف صناعة‬ ‫بعض االضافات ىف اخللطة االمسنتية مما‬ ‫يساعد عىل عدم ظهور اى نوع من املخلفات و‬ ‫االستفادة الاكملة منة ‪.‬‬ ‫والشلك التاىل يوحض اماكن لك مصنع‬ ‫امسنت ىف مرص و باللون االزرق يظهر مكية‬ ‫الطاقة املطلوبة ىف املصنع بالاكمل ‪ ,‬و مكية‬ ‫الطاقة املتولدة من املخلفات الزراعية لملنطقة‬ ‫احمليطة باملصنع باللون االمحر ‪.‬‬

‫اما بالنسبة للدلتا فانتاجها من املخلفات‬ ‫الزراعية كبرية جدا ‪ ,‬فلو مت توزيع املخلفات‬ ‫الزراعية مكا يىل حمافظات مشال الداتا‬ ‫لصاحل مصانع العامريية و االسكندرية و‬ ‫املخلفات الزراعية جبنوب الدلتا يمت استخدامها‬ ‫ىف توليدالطاقة ملصانع القمطية و حلوان و‬ ‫طرة ‪.‬و من الدراسة يتضح وجد فائض كبري‬ ‫ىف الطاقة من املخلفات الزراعية حيث ميكن‬ ‫االستفادة مهنم ىف عدة صناعات اخرى ولكن‬ ‫بالنسبة لملخلفات الزراعية مبحافظة السويس‬ ‫و ايضا بىن سويف يتضح وجود جعز ىف‬ ‫الطاقة من املخلفات الزراعية و ميكن ىف هذة‬ ‫احلالة اضافة مرفوضات املخلفات الصلبة‬ ‫لملسامهة ىف توليد الطاقة لملصانع ( مكا‬ ‫ميكن استخدام املخلفات الصلبة املنذلية والكن‬ ‫بعد فصل املواد الىت ميكن اعادة تدويرها‬ ‫مثل الزجاج و الصفاحئ و املعادن والورق و‬ ‫الكرتون و البالستياكت حيث ان البالستيك‬ ‫مادة برتولية و تنضب مع انهتاء املخزون‬ ‫البرتوىل فقميتة اغىل ىف اعادة التدوير من‬ ‫حرقة)‪ .‬و ىف حالة مت تضبيق هذة التكنولوجيا‬ ‫سوف يوفراسهتالك ‪ 4765893.572‬طن‬ ‫سوالر سنويا‪.‬‬

The new Hyundai i20 WRC will use Shell Helix Ultra motor oil and feature Shell Helix branding in all WRC events, which began with the team’s debut at the MonteCarlo Rally Show on 16-19 January 2014.

Shell has a long and successful history in top-level rallying which has seen Shellsupported teams claim many notable WRC victories as well as both the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ Championship titles. Building on eight years of Global Partnership Agreement with the Hyundai Motor Company, the new relationship with Hyundai Motorsport heralds a dynamic new era for Shell.

The FIA World Rally Championship is one of the most challenging motorsport competitions in the world, with roads ranging from ice and snow to asphalt or gravel and temperatures ranging from -30°C to +40°C, so engine demands are always at their highest.
