Hello Beastie Bunnies,

Another short letter this month. Currently there are a little less than 2 months left in the term. I am dreading the end. Soon I’ll no longer be serving as your Lieutenant Governor. It’s been a great ride. But just because the term is ending doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. Let’s make these last few months great. Here’s a bit to look forward to. Bonfire and banquet details will be released soon. As for our flash mob, that will be postponed. Sadly enough there isn’t enough time for that. See you all soon. Creating Change One Hop at a Time,

Xuexing Ong

Club Updates 3

Carson

On January 22nd, the board members of Carson Key Club held workshops for the members that were interested in running for a position for the upcoming 2016-2017 administrative term. Each officer had the chance to explain the duties and responsibilities that they held within the club and even shared a couple of experiences they had during the term. An informational workshop hosted by a few DCON attendees was also presented. Topics such as date, location, cost, and an overview of each day were discussed. A few alumni even stopped by to share their own DCON experiences. By the end of the day, the members that showed up got to see a bit of what it’s like to hold an officer position for the club and even learned more about DCON.

North High

North High Key Club started the year off with some delicious goodies. Our members had worked with the Japanese Gardena Buddhist Church to help organize and distribute Girl Scout Cookies. Together we had set up an efficient train line, where we passed the box hand to hand towards trucks ready to be loaded. Now, we are excited to see what events this year has in store for us. – Jacqueline Fuentes

West Torrance The White Point Nature Preserve, located in San Pedro, features 102 acres of restored coastal sage scrub habitat, hiking and handicap accessible trails overlooking the ocean and Catalina Island. On MLK Day, members of West High’s Key Club helped beautify White Point’s Nature Demonstration Garden. It was a very fun time that all of our members go to enjoy by being outdoors and breathing in the fresh air. – Jasmine Nguyen

January DCM 7

On January 23rd, the members of Division 19 South gathered together to participate in the final DCM that Lieutenant Governor, Xuexing Ong, would host by himself. The DCM was full of emotions as we all sat down and thought about the term. Xuexing even presented his own “State of the Union” speech. The members got to write down their own ideas for what they want to occur in these last few months of the term. Some ideas included a flash mob and bonfire. Members also were given a chance to express their appreciations for specific members in the division that allowed them to flourish throughout the administrative term. The Janaury DCM was a success and held lots of sentiment. There aren’t many months left so don’t be afraid to get out there and bond with your division at the next divisional event!

Editor’s Message

The term is quickly coming to an end ď Œ BUT, do not be sad as we still have a couple of weeks together before transitioning on to the next term, saying goodbye to our current board members and seniors, and welcoming our new board members and incoming members. There is still so much to look forward to like our banquet and bonfire. I wish all the newly elected board members good luck and good luck to those who are still in the process of running for a position. No matter what the outcome is, just know that nothing can stop you from expressing your love and passion for this organization. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you in the final issue next month!
