November 1

To the Beastiest Bunnies, MY NAME IS XUEXING ONG. I am the Lieutenant Governor of Division 19 South Key Club. The first month of school has passed and by now I’m sure the pain and agony has become endurable. If not, just know that if you ever need anyone, I’ll be there with a sack of potatoes. We will eat, and I might be able to help with your homework… or not. RTC has passed and while we may not have won the spirit stick, I hope you all had fun and learned something new. While we may have not won the Spirit Stick at RTC, we can win at Fall RALLY! I hope to see you all there helping to save children’s lives. If you didn’t know already, Fall Rally is actually a huge fundraiser for PTP. Fall Rally Attendees keep in mind that it is mandatory to attend our November DCM or Spirit Night. NOW GO GO GO, YOU BEASTIE BUNNIES. WE WILL WIN! HOOAH Creating Change One Hop at a Time,

Club Reports

North High The first event we had this school year was helping out at an elementary school next door. North High School’s Key Club helped reorganized Edison Elementary Library on September 15th-18th. After school, members from both CSF (California Scholarship Federation) and Key Club walked over to Edison. They worked until 4:30 every day. Members helped alphabetized and re-shelved books that ranged from first to fifth grade. Along with CSF we were able to work efficiently and finish a day early. – Jacqueline Fuentes

HTPA The most successful and interesting event during the month of September was the local St. Margaret Mary Lomita Fair. Carried out over a period of three days, the event gave members a fun experience to start off the year. Our members were able to help in various food and beverage booths and game booths such as DartThrowing and Throw-Till-You-Win. By working with various adults of various backgrounds, everyone was able to further improve their abilities to cooperate with other people in the community. Although initially unable to volunteer for an hour due to organizational difficulties, it was heart-touching to see all of the members still willing to volunteer in the hopes that people will have a great time with their families and friends. An amazing achievement that must be noted is that one of the members volunteered his time on all three days and ultimately worked thirty-seven hours. In conclusion, the event was a perfect mix of volunteering and having fun, making it perfect for the energetic yet virtuous Key Clubbers. – Matthew Suzuki

Carson The Los Angeles Printers Fair was an event held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 10 am to 4 pm, held at the International Printing Museum. This dynamic museum is devoted to bringing the history of books, printing, and the book arts to life for various audiences. Our organization participated in this event, along with other volunteers, taking several collections of antique printing machinery and interpreting it for the fair’s audiences through working demonstrations and theater presentations. The Museum supports itself in part with receipts from its activities and programs, but relies primarily on donations from individual and corporate donors. –Genesis Garcia

Palos Verdes October 6-7th was PVPHS’s Club Rush and this was our opportunity to recruit new members and have members recommit, Huy Nguyen holds our poster to advertise Key Club alongside the rest of the board sporting their beasty bunny gear. While it was definitely hot, our pink attire attracted the needed attention as close to 180 students signed up to participate in PVPHS’s 2015-2016 Key Club. – Gino Abrajano 7

Region 8 Training Conference was an eventful day full of spirit, workshops, and hundreds of Key Clubbers from divisions 13N, 13S, 19N, 19S, and 1. The day started off with a bang as members began to display their spirit through cheers and spirit battles. After a quick opening session, members were free to go to the workshop that they wished to go to. Throughout the day, members were given information on Key Club, officer positions, valuable skills, and so much more. Lunch was served after DCM where each division went over their cheers that they would use for the spirit rally at the end of the day. The day ended off with Division 1 Foxes emerging as the winners of the spirit stick. Thank you to those who made RTC 2015 happen. Without our Lt. Gs, Region Advisors, DLT members, and adult supervisors, RTC would not have gone as smoothly. We hope that you all enjoyed spending time with your Region 8 ohana and we hope that you look forward to more events in the near future.
