To the Beastiest Bunnies, Already it’s been 3 months since DCON—since the start of our term. I guess it is true that time flies when you are having fun. I wish to truly sav or every second I hav e with all of you, because before we know it, the term will be ov er. With that I want to giv e a special shout out to all the graduating Key Club Alumni. All of you hav e serv ed with such passion. Ev en when it was time for college apps, you still stayed activ e. You contributed something that you could nev er get back. Something that we always wish for more.. You contributed your time to build our home, school, and community. And for that, I thank you. For those of you whom weren’t at conclav e, I stated my intention to hear the v oices of the members. This is because I believ e ev ery single member should be heard. It doesn’t matter if you are from a big school, small school, a board member or just brand new to key club. I want to hear what you hav e to say. And together we can make this div ision great. How can you go about sharing your v oice? That’s a good question. It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3. Just figure out what you want to say. It can be something simple like a comment. It may be as complicated as an idea for an ev ent. Either way, I want to hear it. All that you have to do is contact me v ia email @d19s.cnhkc.ltg@gmail.com, messenger, or text/call at (310) 774-6982. Starting now, there will be an idea box at ev ery single DCM. I end this message with one final challenge to all the members. One of the goals of the term is to increase membership. So I ask you to bring your friends to the next ev ent. It doesn’t matter if they are in Key Club or not. Any and all are welcome.
In the end, whatever happens, I am proud of each and ev ery one of you.

Club Reports
Carson The Tour of Long Beach was an event held on May 9th, 2015. More than 3,000 cyclists participated in riding one of four possible bike paths. The four paths ranged from being 5 miles to 100+ miles long, each offering various rewards for reaching the finish, such as goodie bags, event t-shirts, medals, as well as an entry into the event’s Finish Line Festival, which offered live entertainment, food trucks, a beer garden, and much more. The entire event was held to fundraise and support pediatric cancer research at Miller Children's Hospital Long Beach. – Genesis Garcia

North High On Sunday May 17, 2015, North High’s Key Club attended an ev ent in Manhattan Beach called Tour de Pier. Starting from 7:30 in the morning, people came to sign in and participate. Participants rode on stationary bikes for 50 minutes, and during each session there were different motiv ational speakers, such as Michael Stadv ec, Angela Bennett, Chrissy Roth, and PK biking along with them and encouraging ev eryone to push through each hour passing by. Key Clubbers helped fold and set cloths onto the stationary bikes, fill up burrows with ice and water bottles, and collect trash or recycle after a ride session. It was an inspiration to see people of all ages coming together, biking for a cure for cancer. Besides the main stationary bikes for the adults, on the side was an area of children sized-stationary bikes dedicated for the little ones to take part in the fight for cancer. USC’s marching band and UCLA’s cheerleaders came to show their support by performing sev eral songs and lifting up the v olunteers. A speaker's motto stood out to me ―Don’t Stop!‖ From the early hours of morning to the afternoon, throughout all of the sessions, v olunteers and participants alike fought on and showed their support. May DCM

On May 30th, approximately 50 beastie bunnies attended that month’s DCM. Members were asked to dress up like pirates in honor of our counterpart division, 19 North. The day was full of activities, all of which were related to the pirated theme. It was also our LTG’s birthday! Three icebreakers were played to test the abilities that our members had as pirates. The first one was a sing-a-long. Members were then split off into teams in order to play the remaining two icebreakers. Teams were given posters and markers to create their ―pirate ship flag‖. After flag making, we moved onto playing the scavenger hunt. Teams were given lists of items to find around the park. First team to complete the scavenger hunt was allowed to eat first. The final icebreaker was a race. A representative from each team had to run up a hill, sit on a bench, and run back. The members had lots of fun running around and competing with each other. After the icebreakers, Officer of the Month was awarded. The award went to Carson’s president, Domo Soriano! Club teams were also announced. Another special award went to Matthew Perez for being the Best Dressed Pirate. To end the DCM with a bang, our division called out D19N with a friendly Spirit Battle! It was a memorable DCM. Don’t miss out on all of the fun and make sure to attend future DCMs!

Club Teams What are club teams? Club teams are teams consisting of the schools in the division. Teams were created to promote club connections and are used to improve the bonds between the members.
What will teams do? Teams will be organizing service events for all clubs in the team to attend. However, it doesn’t stop there! Teams are encouraged to bond through social events as well. Points will be rewarded to teams who hold events/socials/etc. Teams that collect the most points will be rewarded!

What was one memorable moment you had as LTG? The most memorable moments that I had as a Lieutenant Governor were the moments when members would communicate and confide in me. It brought me to a lev el where I discov ered that the position was more than just paperwork and holding ev ents. Being Lieutenant Governor provided me with the opportunity to serv e the members of 19 South to the best of my ability. I was able to connect to them on a professional and personal lev el and to me that was the most I could ev er ask for from the position.
Do you have any advice for the members? I will offer the same adv ice that my 8th grade teacher gave me. Although we are not penguins, we should be like them. Penguins gather to the edge of an iceberg and wait until one brave soul jumps in to test the water and make sure that it is safe for the others. So I challenge the members of 19 South to be the first penguin and jump into the unknown and hope for the best. P.S. Bunnies rule!
What motivated you to run for LTG? I ran for Lieutenant Governor on a whim. I woke up one day and said, "I think I'll run for Lieutenant Gov ernor. Of course I had my doubts to begin with, but I knew that I had the capability of taking on the role. What intrigued me about the position was the bonds that the Lieutenant Governor made and how they influence the people around them. The last things on my mind were the perks and trip to District Conv ention. I ran for the sole purpose of helping my friends be the best person that they can be.
