Student Life and Support We have heavily invested in our support networks both on and off campus to make the experience of studying at RGU the best it can possibly be. We provide a confidential and non-judgemental service to all our students, applicants and enquirers. The more information about your needs you can share with us, the more help and support we can potentially offer you, and often the earlier you do this, the better.

Study Skills Service We understand the transition from school to university can be daunting and challenging, particularly in respect of your studies. The Study Skills Service provides you with free advice and support across a range of study skills, including exam preparation and revision, reading and notemaking tips, time and project management, presentation skills and tackling written or coursework assignments. We can arrange group or one-to-one sessions depending on your needs.

Student Help Point To help make your transition to university as seamless as possible, the Student Help Point is available for all non-academic queries and support. The team are on hand to help with a range of queries, including but not limited to; travel advice, tuition fees, accommodation, application forms, finance and filling your free time.

The Inclusion Centre: Disability and Dyslexia We have many years’ experience of supporting students, and our Inclusion Centre exists to advance an equal and accessible learning environment within the University. Our team work to ensure you can reach your full potential by offering confidential advice and specialist support to students with physical and sensory impairments, autism spectrum disorders, health conditions, mental health conditions, dyslexia and those with short or long term support needs.

Counselling and Wellbeing Service Student life at university can be exciting and rewarding, but we recognise that it can also be overwhelming at times. Our wellbeing advisors and counsellors operate a confidential service and are here to talk over any difficulties you experience whilst at RGU so you can strive to get the most out of your studies and your university experience.

Careers Support Our Careers Consultants offer advice on-campus and online for you at all stages of your degree. Prior to joining the university, the team can advise you on the career options related to your course. Once you are a fulltime student you can arrange appointments, attend dropin sessions, or contact them

via phone, Skype or FaceTime to discuss work experience, employment opportunities, application forms, CVs and career plans.

The Library The Library is located in the green glass tower of the Sir Ian Wood Building and has four floors of books and journals, computers, printers, photocopiers, scanners and project rooms. It is a fantastic place for quiet, individual study with some of the best views of the River Dee and surrounding area. Library resources include books, eBooks, print and online journals and databases. For collaborative study space, the Georgina Scott Sutherland Learning Centre located in the Aberdeen Business School Building, has plenty of space for group work including bookable project pods, project rooms and seminar spaces.
