What is your impression of LA?
I love LA both for work and for leisure because it’s so sunny here everyday - it’s so awesome! There are many picturesque places that made today’s photo shoot a great one. I want to come back and discover more spots.
つばささんにとってLAはどんな場所？ お仕事でもプライベートでも来る大好きな場所です。いつもお天気
が良いので毎日最高って思えます。色々な場所が絵になるので 今日の撮影もとっても楽しかったし、まだまだ知らないところがた くさんあるのでまたすぐにでも来たいと思っています。

What do you have in mind when it comes to makeup?
First of all, transparency of the skin. Daily moisturizing is important but by using CandyDoll’s lavender color base, it makes your skin brighter and your red and pink blush will look good on it. Also to match makeup to the outfit and coordinate as a whole. Lately I like using some colors on my eye makeup.

まず肌は 普段の保湿も大切ですが、CandyDollのラベン ダーの下地を使うと肌が一段明るくなって、赤やピンクのチークが映 えるのでおすすめです。あとはファッションとリンクさせてトータル で考えること。最近は目元とか部分的にカラーを入れるのも好きです。

What is the most exciting moment when you’re working?
On SNS, when I see the people are very happy with the clothing and makeup that I produced. I’ll be glad if the products that I produced motivate them to get into fashion and beauty. I’ve been making the products with the concept of making oneself look cuter. Let’s all look cute together!
Q What is your goal?
I want to spread Japanese fashion and beauty not only in Japan, but also abroad. On the other hand I would like to import the good elements from abroad and combine them. My brand EATME - which I’m wearing today - is a fetish mode. It is not very common in Japan, but it suits well for people that live outside of Japan. Inspired by the world of “Alice in Wonderland” I named the brand “Eat (wear) me” that takes on the perspectives of the clothes. Just like how Alice eats the necessary things as the story progresses, I hope the clothes that I create will make people happy in their life stages. During my last visit, I found the Dolly Wink advertisement by chance which led me to an opportunity like this with JPy. You never know what will happen even with small steps, so I would like to take action both in Japan and overseas.
お仕事をしていて楽しいのはどんな時？ 自分が手がけたお洋服やコスメでハッピーになっている人がいるのをSNSな どで知る時が一番嬉しくて、ものづくりをしていて良かったなと感じます。 私がプロデュースした商品がひとつのきっかけとなってファッションやメ イクを好きになってくれたらいいなと思うし、多くの人が可愛くなれるよ うに考えて工夫して商品を作っているのでみんなでかわいくな
りたいというのが願いです。
今後の目標を教えて下さい。 日本だけでなく、海外の子たちにも日本ならではのファッションやメイク を広めていきたいです。そして逆に海外のいいところを日本に持ち帰って伝
え、両方を繋ぐような存在になれたらいいです。私が手がけてい るブランドEATMEは、まだ日本にジャンルとしてあまりないフェティッシ ュモードのお洋服なのですが、海外の方が着るととても良く似合うのでそれ もブリッジの一つになったらいいなと思います。元々イギリスの「不思議 の国のアリス」の世界観にインスピレーションを受け、洋服の気持ちになっ て「私を食べて（着て）」というコンセプトで名付けました。アリスが物 語の中でその時々に必要な物を食べてストーリーを進めて行くように、私が 作ったお洋服が色々な場面で人生をハッピーに進めるきっかけになれたらと いう願いを込めています。また以前LAで偶然見つけたJPyに、自分がDolly Winkのモデルとして出ていたことがきっかけで今回撮影をすることにな り、小さなきっかけがどんどん繋がることを実感してワクワクしたので、
まずは行動していきたいと思います。

In the 7 years I’ve cooked the osechi for New Years, I’ve improved in my kuromame (black bean) cooking skills for the past 6 years. It is definitely my favorite. Even the ones from the market are surprising delicious when you cook at home. This time I put them in coffee cups to feel a sense of fun. Decorating osechi with the flowers or plants in your yard can add seasonal feelings to them!

ith her 10th year anniversary as a comedian, Japanese entertainer Naomi Watanabe’s first WORLD TOUR event took place on October 4th at Union Nightclub. It’s obvious that she is an entertainer representing Japan from the fact that there was a long line even before the door opening on the day of the tour. Naomi’s appearance started with Beyonce’s “Ring The Alarm” in yellow and black bee-like wardrobe. In the midst of crowds’ cheering, her performance of “Crazy In Love” with a sexy dance was followed by “Baby Boy,” “Say My Name,” and “Get Me Bodied,” where she performed synchronized collaboration dancing. When the light was suddenly turned off, there on the big screen was her fellow comic collaborators like Tomochika, Oniyakko Tsubaki, and Shizu-chan with the clips from the movie she starred in, “Ghostbusters.” The lights turned on and she performed “Dreamgirls,”where the back-up dancers drew laughter by unsuccessfully trying to lift her into the air, and collapsing from the effort. During her MC 28
portion of the show, she introduced herself. “Hi guys, Nice to meet you! I am Naomi Watanabe!” drawing cheers from the crowd for her fluent English. “Yeah!” It was immediately followed by her “I don’t speak English” which drew even more cheers and laughter. The MC portion was followed by her famous marshmallow-catch, where she catches using her mouth. Then it escalated the catch from marshmallows to meat buns, where Naomi successfully caught the ones thrown by guests chosen from the crowd. This was followed by upbeat tune “Run The World(Girls)” which turned the “Beyonce!” cheer from the crowd into “Naomi!” The screen showed Naomi’s youth days as well as her ambushing videos where the crowd was able to discover different parts of her. She reappeared in American flag wardrobe and performed Lady Gaga’s famous tunes including “Telephone,” “Yoü And I,” and “Applause” with her sharp dance moves. When the crowd cheering was at a climax, Naomi changed her wardrobe once again and was in her black elegant dress. She performed “Single Ladies” and “Listen,” col-
laborating with the crowd that was dancing with her. At the closing of the event, Naomi joined with her dancers and smiled at the cheering crowd. After the live event, Naomi commented “It was a great evening. I’m really happy that so many people came. It was a totally different feeling from the New York show. The people from the entertainment capital of LA really got into it, and it was a lot of fun. I want to keep on developing and growing, and I’m going to work hard so that I can come back some day.” We can’t take our eyes off Naomi!
