orking with cup mockups,
I
made
some
decisions about the construction of the object in general, but the prototype for the holder was
still
mandatory.
Firstly,
to understand the basics of the folding process for a smaller cup.
Second,
to
check
the dimensions that I suggested in Rhino. And finally, to figure out any other surprises that usually appear while sewing. Again, paper prototyping was more beneficial than it was guessed. It became clear that the lid must be smaller. Also, the general idea of accordion became a bit clear. At least, I came up with the dimension of the rings. It was the right time to think about materials more closely. Ideally, it must be nice thick leather that will be hand-sewn with nice hardware. The leather can be washed, or any lining material could help with that and also hide the stitching. But it seems that at least for prototyping I will use something cheaper, say, faux leather.
