Education (continued from page 21)
In 2022, we have two teams qualified for both NAQT (May 2729, Atlanta) and PACE (June 1012, Chicago) nationals. We had to finish in the top 3% in a qualifying tournament in order to participate at Nationals. Moreover, we won 1st at the Varsity State Championships this year. Congratulations to the members of the Johns Creek High School Academic Bowl Team! Our Varsity players are Omer Mujawar (Co-Captain, President of the club), Aryan Shah (Co-Captain), Sam Konkel, and Daniel Chen. Our JV team players are Rohan Dalal, Jeffrey Xu, Kevin Wang, Danny Shapiro, Michelle Luo, Rishab Subramaniyan, Aakash Sanjay. Our Career Technology Student Organizations (CTSO’s) continue to shine at JC. Hundreds of students participated in TSA, DECA and FBLA this year with many excelling at the state level. TSA had the most students make the stage (top 10) out of all of Fulton County Schools at State Leadership and FBLA was awarded Gold Chapter – Superior level with 64 students finishing in the Top 10 at the State Competition. Johns Creeks’ own Karen Gao was elected Georgia FBLA State President for next year and was named Fulton County Schools Career, Technical and Agriculture Student of the Year! The Career Tech Department had an-
other stellar year with 98% of its pathway completers passing the End of Pathway exam in the areas of Engineering, Computer Science, AVT&F, Entrepreneurship, Sports Marketing and Hospitality Marketing. Our literary publications are no exception to this outstanding list of accomplishments. The Pulse literary magazine was recognized with the Silver Crown Award by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in its High School Digital Literary Magazine Category. This same award has been granted to The Chariot news magazine in previous years.
NORTHVIEW HIGH SCHOOL Niche rates Northview as the 2022 and 2023 #1 high school in Fulton County and the #2 high school in Georgia. The Atlanta Journal Con-
stitution (AJC) consistently featured Northview as one of the top schools in the Metro Atlanta area, based on the results of the College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI). Not surprisingly, in 2012 Atlanta Magazine named NHS “The Number One School in Atlanta,” and in 2021 Newsweek placed Northview 99th in its top 1000 high schools in the United States. Through a rigorous listing of course offerings and 29 Advanced Placement courses, NHS students are well prepared for the future, with over 95% moving on to four-year colleges. The school also features a student teacher ratio of 19:1 and an extremely diverse student body, with large East Asian, Indian and African American populations. Northview celebrates this diversity through a variety of clubs and intricately planned activities. For example, the Kaleidoscope Club, an organization focused on promoting the strength of diversity, alongside the Beta Club, hosts an annual International Night. Attendees delight in a Taste of Cultures with food, dance, and music from more than 20 nations. Hosting two shows for the community, both are sold out each year.
In athletics, NHS provides students the opportunity to compete in 19 different varsity sports, including football, baseball, track, volleyball, golf, wrestling, cross country, Northview High School and lacrosse. The school has its fair
